Outstanding!!! Fantastic flavours from Spain, delicious Paella, attention to detail, awesome tapas, worth the drive from Burlington to the City!!! Loved every plate.
Our group of 5 ordered 1 paella, and then proceeded to try over half of the tapas options. Everything was on point...service, flavours, ambience...I recommend going with 4+ so you can try all the amazing tapas. We will be back when in the city again. Thanks!!!

An exhaustive selection of Spanish food and drinks (including wines). Had a Graciano. For starters we got the Aged Ham and the Costillas Cortas con Chimichurri aka Braized Short Ribs.
The ham was alright, but the ribs were amazing!

AWESOME food! It is a bit on the pricey end, considering the portions but everything tasted great! We were a party of 4, ordered about 6-7 tapas and then a paella to share. The black paella is delicious and just melts in your mouth! The rice was cooked in squid ink so it's nice and sweet and the seabass was cooked just right. Food-wise, it was perfect. The only thing is that I expected the wait staff to be a bit more professional. They brought us the wrong bill twice. We payed the highest bill first and only realized it was the wrong bill after we paid. Then the waiter had to give us cash back. They did try to make it up for us with complementary sherry wine which is nice. I hope the staff improve communications between each other and avoid this mix up next time.
Oh, Carmen! Carmen's tapas and paellas are just WOW. Infused with spices, flavors and love, they deliver a dining experience that triggers the mind and senses. Carmen is tasty, visual and truly delightful in every bite, sip, look and noise. The restaurant starts with a long bar right at the entrance, leading to a spacious indoor area and a very cozy terrace open during warmer months. My first encounter with the barmen resulted in a hilarious exchange, where I was called "international" for my desperate attempts to book a table from my Dubai number.
Try: Cauliflower, white fish ceviche and paella of the day (big enough to feed 4-6 people if paired with tapas).
A while ago some friends and I got together for some Spanish tapas at Carmen and I've been meaning to post but... life has been a bit stressful and I haven't had the energy to write. Things are still stressful, but I missed blogging so here is my first food post in a long while. A number of my friends had gone on a Mediterranean tour starting in Barcelona so they were hoping to re-live a little bit of their wonderful trip. I was tagging along, cause, well...I can't say no to good food!
A must try. Will be returning for paella. Had fried artichokes with aioli that was fresh, salty and fried. A tomato and bread thing that was like a super ungarlicky/deconstructed bruschetta. The fried green tomatoes with a corn relish tastes surprising, a textural experience, shockingly filling and an absolute delightful experience. The fresh charcuterie board was simple with three meats, a duck prosciutto that was the stand out for its richness and perfectly cut thickness. The steak tartare was subtle, presentation was adorable. Finished with Spanish churro donut and omg they were delicious and went great with the super fresh housemade sangria. Really expensive. But the ambiance, decor and outstanding food it's quite worth it. Very romantic but also great for a crowd. The one drawback besides the price, the staff seemed a little overwhelmed, maybe it was bc it was easter Sunday tho! :)
Birthday dinner with a big group. Service was fantastic and with so many people we could sample a bunch. Grilled pepper, croquette, dates with jamon and cheese, 4 different paellas, fried green tomatoes, deep fried artichokes, pan con tomate, dessert. All good, very fresh ingredients. The chefs special paella was the best. A bit on the pricy side, but worth the experience.

Great food, terrible experience. I usually go to patria but they were booked for the night so I made reservations at Carmen for 3 people at 7:30. Our group arrived at 7:25 and checked in. We were informed that our table was being prepared and were invited to sit at the bar to wait. We were offered drinks while we waited. After 20 mins, a group of 4 adults came in and were seated before us. I politely asked the hostess if our table was ready because we did not want our food to be served at the bar. Again she told me it was almost ready. I ordered our paella with the bar tender to ensure we would be eating promptly after being seated. We were finally seated at 8:20, ONE HOUR after arriving, WITH a reservation! We were each given a free drink to excuse for the restaurants disorganization. After receiving our drink and waiting another 10 mins, I had to call the waitress over so that we could order our tapas. Having ordered the paella shortly after we arrived, we received it at the same time as our tapas. We were seated in the middle of the upper floor of the restaurant and it was so loud that we were yelling to hear each other. Our water jug was not refilled while we were there. The food was delicious, paella was very good - but it did not make up for the experience. I asked the waitress for our bill when we were ready to leave. She brought them over. We waited 10 mins for her to come back and finally I went back to ask her to bring us the debit machine. Overall - food was excellent but the experience was disappointing.
Wow. Phenomenal. To the moment we sat down to the moment we left we recieved nothing but top notch service. The food was amazing. The grilled shrimp, the ceviche, the seafood paella. Every item on this menu was absolutely delicious and executed with care. This is my second time at this restaurant, can hardly wait to return. It was a little pricey, but the quality and taste were well worth it.

Perfect! Atmosphere, service, food!. I visited in November with large group for my birthday. Our reservation climbed from 8 to 14 within 24 hours and the team bent over backwards to make the reservation work. The space is intimate and has a warm atmosphere. Our table was great and our servers were wonderful! Very friendly, polite, knowledgeable and an overall good time. The food was delicious, beautiful and clearly made with passion - we had a continuous flow of tapas and paella all of which tasted amazing and fresh. Pimientos de padrone, steak tartar and the green tomatoes were on our top list along with all of the paellas. We ate and drank for three hours and had an amazing time. Thank you team Carmen!! Keep up the awesome work. Looking forward to another visit.
