Home of the one of the better burgers I’ve had in Toronto. Loved the red pepper relish in the Brooklyn Burger, and I didn’t even miss that I didn’t order fries because the side house salad was delish (good ingredients and dressing). Oh ok, I did sneak a few fries from my dining partner and they tasted exactly like McDonald’s fries. It has a ground floor patio plus another on the second floor—perfect for those warm nights.
One of my favourite restaurants and bars in Toronto! The food is always incredible and the staff are very friendly and accommodating!
My favourites are the guacamole, the perogies (ask for them deep fried they are worth the calories), the edamame, and the fish tacos
For breakfast I love the avocado toast and the fresh squeezed juices
Local also has a great night life atmosphere the bartenders always make sure my friends and I have a fun night!
Came here cus it was a place I've never been before so me and my friends checked it out.
We were gna sit in the patio until we were told that there was a rooftop patio tap we went up and sat at the bar.
Our bartender was the bomb. He treated us really well. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, guac and chips, calamari, and perogies.
All were delish and they make the guac right in front of u. Price is good and good portions. One of my new fave places.
Food is good quality. Burgers are juicy, calamari is crisp and tender, salads are well composed, with a good balance of textures. Chicken on the ginger salad was particularly tasty, but one 2 oz thigh doesn't justify the $15 price tag.
Beer is fresh and service is attentive and cheerful.

Probably one of the better pub/bar burgers I’ve had in Toronto.
LOCAL Public Eatery was highly recommended by a friend Pauline W so we decided to come by for a night cap.
Parking on the weekend though might be an issue as the lot has limited parking spaces. I have to fight for the last one with my friend. Aside for that I had a good experience.
Local beer on taps though limited but I like how they are on a rotation so I can look forward to something seasonal and different next visit. And if you prefer wine, they have wines on taps too. The bartender here is high energy and friendly. Ready to give you some recommendations or a sample before you placed your drink order.
For the sport fans, there are quite a few TVs in the bar/dining area so you won't be missing any actions. And they even have a rooftop patio area for the warm summer days.
$5.50 for a pint is quite reasonable priced for a craft beer.
I cannot comment on the food as that would be another review if my friend would invite me to join her again for a bite at LOCAL.
Came here on rainy Monday. The service was top notch, and my partner and I were pleased with our lunch. At one point it got really cold inside, and the waiter offered to see whether he could get that fixed. My partner had the burger, and it was really good. I had a taco which was fantastic, and the caesar salad which was on the skimpy side of salads. Still a good experience.
It was Friday evening at dinner time, and Local Public Eatery was filling up, by not overly busy. Service was very friendly and efficient. They have a few booths at the sides for larger groups, but most of the tables are high top, and can be used for communal seating, with more than one dining party at one table. SWMBO and I scored a round 5-top to ourselves.
The food was very good. SWMBO's Fish and Chips came with two large fish portions that were fried in a very light and very crispy batter. The tasty house-made tartar sauce was a bit different than most with the addition of a bit of dill. The only issue was that more tartar sauce would have been nice for the amount of fish provided.
My Brooklyn Burger included beer-battered onion rings (salty), red pepper relish (sweet and sour), and aged cheddar (salty). For me the balance between salty, sour and sweet was very nice.
I was very impressed by this Local. I recommend sitting upstairs. The ambience is nicer. You must try the perogies and churros! They are both done so perfectly. The perogies come with a generous serving a bacon and sour cream. The churros are light and not over done. They come with chocolate sauce and marshmallows which tastes really good as well.
Food, craft beers and service were great but I agree that their policy on children and upstairs patio is stupid.
