The momos were the best. It reminded me of momos made in Nagaland, very similar to the once we eat backhome. I could eat the momos everyday and not get bored... East or west your momos are the best
Came here with a group of friends to celebrate losar and the experience was amazing. Most of us had tibetan food for the first time and let me tell you, it was delicious! Our tibetan friends were kind enough to let us sample an array of foods that was tasty and satisfying. I will definitely come back. The service was excellent and we got a great discount at the end of our meal. Happy Losar friends!
Great place and great food. The c - chicken momos are the perfect appetiser. The tingmo are great. The owner as had been mentioned several times over in earlier posts is a great guy. I am going to be back for more soon.
I was so busy eating the food here that i forgot to click pictures - And that's a first!
Probably the best Indian Chinese/ Hakka / Tibetan food i've ever had.
Enough said!
Do give them a try if you are in the Parkdale area of Toronto, ON
After numerous attempts, I have finally gone to Tibet Kitchen. The area isn't the greatest, but please do not let the neighborhood deter you from enjoying some plump and flavorful momos. I ordered the chicken momos (served with a side of spicy chili sauce), chili chicken, and a mango lassi to constrast the savory spice on my tongue. Both dishes were amazing. The chili chicken is a crowd favorite and quite reminiscent of a schezuan chicken dish back home.
Family owned and run business. Amazing service and delicious food. Nothing compares in Toronto.
Alot of vegetarian options as well. I would try the veg pakora and chilli fries
This is my go to place for an Indo chinese craving. Great food, nicer ambiance, and lovely people aaand they have a patio! Try their spring rolls, shae thuk. Especially love their chow mein and tsey khatsa. My omnivorous friends really love the chilli chicken gravy and chicken pakora, so much so that we go down to this place atleast every week. All in all, great food and very reasonably priced! Also, a feel good quotient knowing that the proceeds from half the sales go into helping Nepal :)
A gem in Parkdale. Serves Tibetan food (with a few Nepalese and Indian items too) in an old shop with pressed metal ceiling, Tibetan knick-knacks and plenty of atmosphere. Try the momos, they are authentic and delicious. The salty buttery bo cha was good on a recent blustery afternoon (go outside your comfort zone and try something unique; I'm glad I did!). The owner is friendly guy and enjoyed chatting with him. Will be back to try out their CAD 7.99 lunch combos (weekdays only).
This place gets 5 for its amazing patio and a 4 for the friendly staff. I went on a Saturday night with a friend - table behind us was really really noisy - kids yelling and screaming running around - it was okay for the first 20 minutes, but really the staff should have stepped up as it was kind of taking away from the ambiance around the 60 minute mark. But really why people are reading this review: The food. I had high hopes, but really nothing I can write home about. Everything was kind of meh. I couldn't give it more than a 3 - it was a bit greasy, didn't have anything unique about it. The patio and the smiling servers, bring it up to a 3.5 - but I'm still hesitant.
I like eating at tibetan joint, specially Tibet Kitchen! be at New Delhi or Toronto. Though these two are separate entity.
I happened to eat at this place couple of times ever since i moved to toronto and i liked pretty much every tibetan dish they serve like shabaley, various types of thukpa, Gumma (sausage) is 5 star***** worth trying every now and then.
outdoor patio ambiance is recommended for nice evening drinks with friends..
BUT they need to do some work on veg-momo, it taste so bland. jst a suggestion from a individual.
Service is great here.
The place gives you a warm and genuine feeling of Tibet out of Tibet. We were a party of 5 and reached 15 minutes before our reservation. Garab the owner who runs the show took charge immediately by accommodating us in a fully packed place. It didn't take long till we were seated and Garab wouldn't stop apologizing for something which wasn't an inconvenience for us.
He waited on us and gave us really good suggestions on Tibetan cuisine.
Chicken momos and chilli fries were the highlight of our meal. Food on the whole was really good and the customer service was even better. I can't remember getting such great service at a fine dining restaurant.
They also have a big patio that accommodates around 60 people. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly to enjoy an outdoor patio meal. However come summer I'm gonna look forward to another amazing experience at Tibet Kitchen.
Big thanks to Garab and his team for looking after us. He sets an amazing example on how to deliver the goods in the best possible way ever.
My quest for Tibetan food brought me to this gem! My co-worker recommended me to try this place and I'm so thankful she did. The owner (or who I assumed to be the owner) was very nice and friendly. He guided us through the menu and pointed out the popular items to try as it was me and my partner's first time. We ordered pan fried momos, gyuma, chow mein and the steamed bread. Momos were so delicious ...and the hot sauce too! Gyuma was something different for me but it was also really good. Excellent food and great service! Left with a happy belly.
