Pizza Pide is lovely Turkish restaurant at the corner of Gerrard and Pape specializing in  Pide - Turkish oblong thin crust pizza and Lahmacun - minced meat, minced vegetables and herbs  baked in a stone oven. Nice staff serving delicious food best had with a bottle of Ayran (yogurt drink).

Hole in the wall with outdated setting but with food from heaven. Turkish style pizzas with amazing flavours. I tried every item on the menu and started changing some ingredients. Great prices for fancy taste 👍👍

It's one of my absolute favourite places in Toronto, their Turkish prides are amazing. The place might not look appealing to walk in, but it really is a must try!

Yes, it is fashionable to call pide Turkish pizza and this place DOES pizza too. It is a disservice.

If pizza were folded over, served with fresh veggies and lemon and had sumac to be sprinkled over them... anyways, not pizza.

Tried a sausage and cheese that could at a stretch be compared to your standard pie but it was more like chorizo and a great crust. My dining partner had ground meat and spinach and the cook in her wisdom suggested cheese, maybe feta? Both crusts were crispy and brightly shellacked. Eating them with raw onion, tomato, pickled peppers, parsley and a splash of lemon brought them to life.

We got two of these suckers and could have made do with one. These are tasty and filling.

The decor is plastic on plastic on plastic and wood. It is a take out joint that feels like so many other small shops in the area where English is only spoken to customers.

I wish there were more places that felt like this and consistently put out food with pride.

A Turkish pizza restaurant. Hmm, that’s interesting. That idea to me conjured up an image of a slice of pizza with Turkish food toppings… whatever those may be. The actual Pizza Pide has a better concept than that: a restaurant that serves both pizza and traditional flatbread topped by mediterranean meats, cheeses and herbs.

An out if the way spot for me but it was worth the drive from Bathurst and Lawrence to Gerrard and Pape.y wife and I pretended we were on vacation in a new city. Never had Turkish pizza before so nothing to compare to but we thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas. The owner was very helpful and we really felt like tourists. I will be back.

Sometimes the best food can be found in a dive. Pizza Pide (Peh-day) is a nondescript eatery on the corner of Gerrard and Pape. You could easily walk by it if not for the hordes that wait on the sidewalk for the streetcar. If you never had Turkish pizza, you should give it a try. Number 18 is the best as it has an assortment of toppings. Bring a hearty appetite as one pide can serve a couple small appetites for lunch.

My favourite pizza place! I just wish it were closer to me... But then again I think it's better they are out of reach lol. I love how they do their pizza. I enjoy the pepperoni, Ground beef and the sampler pizza they make with like 5 different sections of toppings. Every section is amazing! Try out these guys the next time your close by. You'll be glad u did!

My and my colleague stopped by here to try out one of the

Turkish pizza's, as recommended by by Zomato's Collections

as well as several Toronto pizza awards that Pizza Pide had received.

The owner suggested we have the Karisik (#18) which gives us a slice
of each pide on the menu. It was great. We also ordered a Lahmacun,
which was equally tasty.

I will say that the place isn't much in the way of ambience, but I gather
that most of the customers are of the order to go type. Still, the owner
is really friendly and chuckled when we ordered  a bottle of Gedik
(fermented beet juice), which he said we wouldn't like. He was right,
but it was still an experience.

I'll definitely be back when I'm in the neighbourhood.

If you have not tried pide, then you are REALLY missing out.

It's like a pizza/naan/calzone-awesomeness.

# 12, # 17 and # 18 are the best :)

Not a pretty place - and be prepared to wait for your food, as it's always pretty busy.

Pizza Pide is one of Toronto’s foremost purveyors of Turkish finger food. Mustafa Ozkan’s gas-fired oven churns out close to 20 Turkish favourites for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

Pizza Pide has only been a recent discovery for the Toronto Food Blog… a shame, really, seeing as they’ve been around since 2003. I got put on to this place by my Turkish buddy who works across the hall from me. “It’s as close as you get (downtown) to eating in Turkey.” I have been making up for lost time since hearing that sage advice, visiting thrice since July.Item # 1 on the menu is Lahmacun. Homemade dough is rolled wide & thin and gets covered with a spread of ground beef, hot peppers, onions, tomatoes, parsley, and herbs. Fifteen minutes later, the crust comes out very crispy and is a nice contrast to the oily, spicy toppings.

The finishing touch is the plate of accouterments (parsley, tomato, hot pepper, raw onion, and lemon) that allow you to give each bite a different taste. Cutlery is not necessary with menu item #1.Mustafa Ozkan strongly recommends that we also try their Pide. The Kiymali Kasarli (menu item #8) is a conservative pick, stuffed with seasoned ground beef and a salty mozzarella-style cheese. We also order the house special, the Karisik (#18). This is chock-full of an assortment of toppings (Sausage, Chicken, Lamb, Feta & Spinach) that are broken into quarters… making it great for sharing.I think the easiest way to explain (for those who aren’t in the know) is that if Lacmacun is Turkish Pizza, then Pide is like a Turkish Calzone.

What I have found is that words really can’t describe the what’s going on here. If you’re like me, you may have driven past this place many times without giving it much thought. Next time, pop in and say hello. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the friendly, family atmosphere and the authentic, flavourful food.
