Very cute little place. We came here for a friends birthday and were seated in a private dining area. You can't go wrong with any of the items on their menu, especially their delicious homemade pasta!
Fantastic menu. I could quite easily order anything off the menu and be astounded. This place has been around for a long time and is truly a hidden gem.
Attending a meeting downtown was a perfect excuse for a lunch escape. Hello Mangia & Bevi. I told the owner that I found the place by accident. He says: "There are no accidents." He is correct. I did my little research before and Mangia & Bevi was just how I pictured/imagined it. It's a relaxed but busy place with the genuine italian signature. Being right next to the kitchen, I could see that the items served were a good balance between mainly pizzas and pasta dishes.
I had the Pizza Peculiare, the special of the day. It included mozarella, niagara salami, olives, and was topped with fresh greens as well as ricotta. Ricotta was a good addition to balance out the salty items. Of course an adult beverage was a necessity.
To top it off, I enjoyed the coolish bacetti, which is a lovely gelato bite covered by a thin coat of chocolate. They had different flavors and I stuck to the mocha flavor. It was too good and small that I ate it before taking a pic :)
It's a nice hideaway to keep in mind. It's one of those places where you have people from all kinds of professions, walks of life etc stop by. There were regulars which is what a good community hangout ought to be. Glad that I discovered it.
Hidden gem. I have been going regularly for years, usually for lunch. Doesn't look at all impressive from the main street entrance, but service friendly and attentive, atmosphere rustic and cozy, food selection very good. Nice wines by the glass. Daily specials are worth checking out, especially beef dishes, and very good value. I have had fantastic lamb chops (see photo), beef tenderloin, seared tuna - as good as anywhere I have ever eaten, including far more expensive upscale establishments. Very good selection of pizza and consistently good quality. Espressos, lattes, americanos also very good.
This restaurant is slightly hidden from the main street. The pasta here is great! I crave it every time I think about pasta. Excellent flavours! The pizzas are also delicious. Everyone always talks about Libretto and QM, but why queue up to those places when you can have better service and food at Mangia & Bevi?
The best pastas hands down! Always going back to the carbonara since the flavours and amount of sauce, pasta and pancetta are perfect! The staff is great and timely as well ! I've suggested it to many and they have high expectations that are fulfilled ! Very underrated restaurant, should be one of the best pastas in Toronto from what I've tried !
Ended up here randomly one winter evening. The staff was courteous and the food hit the spot. Both pizza and pasta were yummy. Glad we decided to check this place out.
My favorite Italian spot. The Carpaccio is by far one of my most favorite dishes here. They definitely don't skim on the truffle oil. The wine selection is nice and refreshing, and lunch menu changes with nice new additions. This is a a great spot to visit if you are in the area. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated.
Affumicata pasta is amazing! Service is attentive and personalized. Decor pretty unique. Relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Variety of hot sauce very interesting. Try it, you'll like it!
Outstanding. I was really surprised when I stuck my nose into this place for a little lunch today! everything about this place is excellent, food, service, ambiance... it reminds me of exceptional brasseries in Europe! Its worth it to go out of your way to get here! Pizza, pasta, salads, wine, all top notch, yet reasonable prices! delicious!
