Whenever my partner and I travel, we make a point to head to Jinya. Despite it being a chain, it is extremely deserving of praise for its attention to detail, taste, portions and especially the service at this location. I haven’t found a ramen place that can top this one yet for all around flavour and experience. This is a must visit place for any ramen lover!
This place is just a few blocks from my apartment and I have always wanted to try the ramen here.It's encouraging when a such places have vegetarian version :)
This place is always busy during dinner so I decided to go on a weekday for an early dinner.I reached by around 6:30pm and found the place almost full.Since I was on my own,I chose to sit by the bar since there was a big queue for tables.
I ordered the vegan ramen and iced green tea.The dishes were served soon enough. The broth of the ramen taste outrageously delicious on its own.Addition of Chilli oil and hot sauce only elevated it to the next level.The noodles soaked the broth pretty well.The tofu and the other veggies were good.
Definitely an awesome place that will be my goto for Ramen in the coming days.The service was wonderful even when they were full.Kudos to the staff.

This is a review of my first visit to Jinya...
There is a friendly greeting upon arrival.
The decor is clean, with slate and dark wood. Exposed filament light bulbs. Colourful bowls on the bar create a nice aesthetic.
Service is good, and we were seated promptly. Drinks served shortly therafter. Attentive without being annoying.
The menu is quite extensive with loads of options for sharing type dishes and appetizers. From ramen to rice bowls. There are also lunch specials to choose from.

We had 2 sapporo pints, served in cold frosty glasses.
We sat right next to the patio where there was a nice breeze. Great people watching at Church and Carleton.
We ordered Sprouting ramen with extra soboro pork. Good but would have been better without the extra pork added as it made the entire dish way too salty after. Other than the salt factor, everything else was good.
Also tried premium tonkatsu white, tonkatsu black (with black garlic oil) and cha cha garlic lover. They were all quite delicious. Broth is very tasty and not too heavy.
The fried chicken was also quite good, hot and crispy.
An added bonus is that they have free raw garlic that comes with a press so you can add as much or as little to customize your own bowl.
I have been here a couple times since my first visit and will continue to if I'm in the neighbourhood.
Amazing! The brussel sprout tempura was amazing! All 3 varieties of ramen had by the party were superb and very different from eachother. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.
I can't get enough Jinya! I love the spicy ($14) and my gf loves the cha cha cha ($16). We have visited on a few occasions and will certainly be returning in the near future.
I can't believe how low this place's rating is!! Every other platform has it above a 4/5 and I'm glad I listened to those instead of Zomato's numbers. I went to this restaurant after a drag show (around 10pm) and everyone was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We ordered a bottle of sake and ramen and it was one of the most delicious ramen's I've had in this city. My boyfriend got the Tonkotsu Spicy and I got the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen and I added a ramen egg to the bad boy. HOLY SHIT it was the most flavourful thing. The broth was thick and every bite had ground pork in it. The spice was perfect too. Literally drank to the last drop and left so satisfied. Just looking at the pictures of it this morning I'm getting hungry all over again. I can imagine it being crazy there, especially during the dinner rush, but for a late night eat it was everything.
While in Vancouver last year, I dragged my friends on a mini ramen tour of the city. I had grand plans for an afternoon filled with noodles, but my eyes were far bigger than my stomach and we only managed to hit two noodle shops. One of them was Jinya, where I had a pretty good bowl of ramen. When I saw signs for Jinya pop up in Toronto, I was excited to see if the West Coast import would relocate well. Back in August, after a night of Pokemon hunting, The Hubby and I stopped by Jinya for a late second dinner.
I came here with my sister for a nice bowl of ramen. We ordered the cha cha cha, takoyaki, and brussels sprouts tempura.
The food came really quickly.
Brussels sprouts: nice and crispy. The gyoza sauce helped take away the bitterness of the brussels sprouts.
Takoyaki: quite possibly the best takoyai I've ever had. They had 2-3 chunks of octopus in there, not one tiny piece and mouthful of dough. The flavours were also quite tasty.
Cha cha cha ramen: the egg was perfectly cooked and the yolk was runny. The ramen was good but I prefer a lighter bowl. It was too heavy for a hot summer day because the noodles were thick and it was made with a thicker broth as well. The pork belly was super tender and fell apart between my chopsticks. Yum!
I found Jinya good but $15 for a bowl of ramen that failed to blow me away is a bit steep.
For my bowl of ramen, I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen. It was a bowl of thin ramen noodles with chicken broth, chicken chashu, spinach, spicy bean sprouts, tokyo negi, and green onion. Usually I order the pork version of ramen at ramen bars, but this Spicy Chicken Ramen definitely spoke out to me. You can choose either the spice level of Mild, Spicy, or Hot. I chose the Mild one even though looking back, it would have been nice to try their Spicy level.
