great range of vegetarian indian food. family friendly. well priced. only downside was the busy waiter made an error with the food order which was rectified when we pointed it out and forgot one of the drinks which we had to ask for again.

Simply prepared fresh seafood is one of my favourite meals. Sadly with pollution and over harvesting, opportunities to enjoy truly sensational sustainable seafood are decreasing. Hence, when I heard about the rave reviews on Honest Weight and their co-owner John Bil’s commitment to using sustainable seafood, the restaurant made it onto my “must visit” list.
It’s only at a reputable seafood establishment that I get raw shucked oysters ($3 each). Indeed, every table at Honest Weight seemed to have a platter of them. Deliciously clean and salty, they were served with the customary red onion mignonette and shaved horseradish. A bottle of hot sauce is also included for an extra zip, but unnecessary for me.
What I wouldn’t do for another bowl of the Honest chowder ($12) a fantastic combination of lightly creamed broth with tons of clams, a few mussels, potato, fennel, and a hint of white wine. The seafood is left whole and appear to be freshly added to the soup, so they remain plump and sweet. It all comes with warmed
This place is my absolute favourite. I have brought at least 5 different friends with me to dine here after raving about the food, and each time it has been amazing. Come eat here before every one in the city discovers this place. You won't be disappointed!
We're the typical Southern California annoying food snobs. We were totally blown away by John and the Honest Weight team. Atmosphere, table settings, multiple courses and service for 10 was the BEST and FRESHEST seafood dinning experience in recent memory. Maybe ever!! Do not miss Honest Weight!!
We'be been twice now, and both times were very pleased. The fish is as fresh as can be, the staff are knowledgeable about the products, and the meals are to die for.
There was a slight mix-up with our order on the last visit, which was noticed before the meal was brought to the table. We told them it was no big deal (and meant it!), but our waiter came back a few minutes later with some complimentary oysters. WOO!
I, for one am happy to have Honest Weight in the neighbourhood and look forward to many visits.
Fish at this shop is on another level ... Sustainable, well sourced and fresh like nothing being offered in Toronto. Take out wholesale, or stay for lunch and let John do what he does best. Standouts are the shellfish and whole fish ready for your oven.
