Our favorite place in Toronto for casual dining. The staff are friendly and remember us though we live in Florida and only go there every few months. The food is excellent and portions are generous.
friendly staff with excellent service and tasty food too .... they even made my meal gluten free :)
Came in on my own, sat at a cozy table downstairs. Hearty food for a bone chilling day. Had today’s special Steak Stilton pie w a side of Cesar. Perfect for today’s -4 degrees Celsius gloomy Toronto weather. Friendly and welcoming attendants. Would come back again.
Great beer on tap.
Casual atmosphere with comfy chairs and booths, or tables depending on your mood!
Sat at bar with some friends and we received attentive, but not pushy service.
Sports on tv over the bar.
We sampled a couple of the appetizers: 3 dips and sweet potato fries. They were tasty! Saw other people eating main meals and it all looked and smelled good.
Bathrooms in basement - warm and clean
Would go back for sure!
I had been waiting for a while to check this place out and I'm very glad I finally got to on my last day in Toronto! We went for Sunday brunch and it wasn't too packed so it was easy to get a table. They have a great selection of breakfast dishes - I went for the eggs Benedict (obviously). The food was great, the staff were very friendly and they have indoor and outdoor seating available. It's a family owned restaurant so it's a laid back atmosphere...great for a quick bite or a family outing. I would highly recommend checking out Harbord House!
I didn't know what to expect from this restaurant when I arrived, but I met my friends out on the front patio, and was absolutely wowed by the food and the service! By the decor, I was expecting basic pub food but it wasn't.... It was beautifully presented dishes with interesting combinations and amazing flavors. And the specials were so hard to choose from, I wanted to eat them all. Great experience and will be going back!!
Harbord house. With a neighborhood that has so many restaurants, coffee bars and pubs, the competition is fierce and therefore needs to stand out somehow. Harbord House is a pretty decent pub that offers casual dinning and a spot to have drinks with friends.
The menu is pretty extensive with lots of your standard pub fare. The atmosphere is laid back and rather cozy. Service was attentive and friendly. Everyone seemed to know each other.
Had the fish and chips which were delicious. The portion size was substantial as well (can easily share with a friend). Their specialty summer beverage for night was a watermelon lemonade which is very memorable to me!!
If you want a low key casual night out...Would recommend Harbord House. It is worth a try.
Would return. I had Arctic char with asparagus and rice. Boyfriend had pulled pork that turned out to be fairly spicy but he enjoyed nonetheless. Reasonably priced, homey upscale pub food. Good portions. Local beers available.
Good local beer selection, good sised portions not too much not too little. Food good quality fresh ingredients if sometimes a little saucy. Solid house wing recipie. All around a breath of fresh air in the mid-to-high class pub food scene.
Great find. Had a fantastic brunch experience Sunday. Busy, but no lineups which is a huge in the is column. Had the eggs with hollandaise on jalapeño cornbread. It was delicious. Servings weren't huge, but that is also a positive in my book. A meal should be filling, not bloating. The server was friendly and attentive and I LOVED the selection of local craft beers on tap. Highly recommended. I'll be goo g back for brunch and other meals.
Great food, value for large portions, and amazing brunch! After my first visit, I had to return and being my friends.
Undiscovered gem. One of the best brunches in the city... Seriously. No kidding. Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. Check it.
The Harbord House is an old haunt and tradition for us - countless get togethers and holiday events. We just love the new location, and all the work John, Rachel, Matt and the team put in to make us all feel at home. Great for our work crowd but also drinks and dinners with friends. The patio is roomy and bright, and the food always keeps us surprised! Love the meatloaf, it is the stuff of legends. Love having options for our salads. Love new items like Saltimbocca. Keep it coming please! And Thank You!
2021 update: they take reservations for the roof patio!
Very good food, huge portions, gorgeous rooftop patio, warm heaters, top floor washrooms, pleasant service. Couldn't recommend a wine pairing but that's just a tiny complaint. Much better than their old location!
Had a great time. Enjoyed the patio space upstairs- it's small, but a perfect space for a small group. Highly recommend the chocolate cheesecake! They have a good selection of craft beers. The servers were very professional and chatted with customers casually. Overall, great experience! Would drop-by again.
I had passed this restaurant many times thinking that it was a really small restaurant. I always heard good things about their food so I knew I'd try it one day but I didn't know what to expect. The day I decided to finally go, I took some family there. We were pleasantly surprised when we were asked if we would like to sit on the rooftop patio. When we went up, I realized it was a hidden gem!! We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch in the sun, surrounded by trees. :)
