Review Huevos Gourmet - Toronto

Always wanted to try the deep dish pizza ever since as a child I had watched it on a cooking show on TV back home. Sadly, I have never been more disappointed. ☹️ Not much meat even though I had ordered for the Small meat lovers pizza..The sauce lacked flavour. And quite doughy. I guess I shouldn’t have had such high expectations for a dish that only looked mouth-watering on television. But well, if you still curious to know what a deep-dish pizza tastes like go for it. I sure have had my fill of it.

I'm reading these negative reviews and I'm laughing!! I've been to Chicago and Double D is the ONLY place in Toronto to make an authentic Chicago style pizza. When you u use brick or wood ovens the pizza doesn't get a uniform color for all the pretenders out there leaving bad reviews.. They use the best ingredients and it's not drenched in oil like a Canadian or American does when they make pizza.. Over all no one compares and im going tonight for a small pizza to support these guys! I would be depressed if they closed out leaving me with no real Chicago pizza options in Toronto. Please survive this pandemic and ignore the haters they don't even know what pizza officially was from Naples!' Let's them hate!

The Best Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza I have had to date. The owner is delightful. The pizza is fantastic. Great buttery crust. Quality toppings. Nice cheese ratio. The Sauce on top is delicious. Ordered a Hawaiian and Pepperoni Pizza and both are good. Highly recommend this place. Guaranteed top 15 pizza in the GTA.

Amazing pizza. Great crust, delicious toppings filled with gooey cheese and a generous amount of delicious sauce on top so it's good and saucy! Simply a great pizza and 2 for 1 Tuesday makes it a crazy good deal. Definitely going back

I've wanted to try deep dish pizza forever so I finally made my way to Double D's and pickup up a medium "Jalapeno Blue". The box looked a little small but it had some weight. I assumed it would be a fork and knife affair but it was easy to cut into slices and the base holds up to it eat by hand. The pizza was pretty tasty, good sauce, tons of cheese, good crust, good amount of bleu cheese and sausege but quite light on the bacon + jalapeno. It fed me and my friend so i'd say this Medium compares to a Large at most other pizza places. I did expect it to be a little heavier on the toppings, judging by the pictures and price, but i'm glad I tried them out and I will return.

Delicious + good service. The Lakeshore location owner was swamped / running behind but was super friendly and apologetic about it. Even offered me a drink while I was waiting. Was worth the wait as the pizzas were super tasty. Not many Chicago-style pizza places in Toronto, but this place does a great job when you're in need of the deep dish fix!

Great experience. I just had trouble trying to post a review here because I forgot to enable cookies here ("oops", now solved). Been there at least twice this year due to covid, I also posted another review 2 years ago when I wasn't quite satisfied with the quality at the time at their stockyards location. But after having that sudden "chicago pie" craving, I decided to pop into this joint down at Lakeshore and Islington via the Ritual app (!!Remember!! These pizzas take at least 30-45 minutes to cook because of its deep dish nature), and I was quite impressed with the quality and freshness of the product, even if the sauce and cheese started spilling out (at least not "dripping out" :) ). This is also quite filling, cheesy, and saucy. If they are are still open during this summer when pandemic restrictions are lifted, I will be sure to take my associates out for a dine in to celebrate! Remember to #supportlocal #shoplocal and #buylocal whenever you can.

With yet another day of outing with our fur-son, we heading to a park for a walk. We spotted the Double D's deep dish. Placed an order for two pizzas and mozza bombs. Pizzas were meat lovers and farmers market. The mozza bombs were awesome, they were tasty, definitely like the spicy. The farmers market pizza is absolutely delicious, with a nice sweet sauce and good amount of veggies it's one I order again. The meat lovers is to be loved. The sauce is meat, spicy delights. Best deep dish on lakeshore. Thank you and stay safe.

Having lots of tasty reliable breakfast spots in the neighbourhood is always a bonus, but having one that serves up a plate of delicious huevos rancheros is the best ever.

My first morning in The Six began with a lovely Eggs Benny breakfast at Huevos Gourmet. 'Huevos' is Spanish for eggs and hence, this pretty little eatery is aptly named, considering the lovely egg preparations that I saw and ate as well. The weather was lovely outside, the large window facing the street was open and soft Mexican music in the background. The service staff are warm and really cheerful. The music and vibes capture your attention from the street itself and anyone who goes in, I assure you, will come out loving the ambience.<br/><br/>Among the two of us, we called for a medium sized, freshly squeezed orange juice, a portion of Eggs Salmon and a portion of what was a Mexican take on Eggs Benedict, and had fresh guacamole and Spanish chorizo. All the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. We also requested for half and half of salad and home fries as sides.<br/><br/>When in Toronto again, I'll be sure to be back here. It was the best breakfast I've had in a while.<br/><br/>

Maybe I ordered off the wrong part of the menu??<br/><br/>I've had Huevos Gourmet bookmarked for a while now, based on the favourable reviews, but just managed to visit today while I was in the area.<br/><br/>There are 2 sides of the menu that consists of All-Day Breakfast and a more Mexican-inspired "All Day Lunch" menu.<br/><br/>(To be honest, I'm not really a fan of All-Day Breakfast UNLESS I'm extremely lazy or hungover which the latter never really happens. It's just not really my thing 'cause I can do this sorta thing at home, so when I'm forced to go out for a Caucasian-style brunch, I try not to order the standards like eggs, bacon, toast, etc. It's still difficult to wrap my head around why this is even a thing.)<br/><br/>So due to my disdain for going out for brekkie, I ordered off the more Mexican portion. I got the GDL Burger while my friend got to Chicken Soft Tacos.  <br/><br/>GDL BURGER<br/>- love the fresh, soft bun<br/>- ingredients were fresh<br/>- hand-cut fries were indeed cut by hand, but they weren't drained from the oil, so they were still shiny and soggy :(<br/>- couldn't taste any guac<br/>- patty itself was seasoned well, but it was sorta dry (probably frozen)<br/><br/>TACOS<br/>- I never tasted them, but my friend said they needed some crunch, more veg (shredded cabbage, more cilantro) and acid<br/>- friend said chicken was well-seasoned<br/>- salsa that was included looked like it was from a jar<br/><br/>Based on this meal, the food was just aw-ight. Nothing incredibly memorable, but I did enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the fact that they played Dean Martin's "Cha Cha Cha D'amour" in the background.

The food was okay but lacked any authintic mexican taste. We had the huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito. I would not recomend this place to anyone.

I've been dying to try to this place and finally got a chance to. Keep in mind they close everyday at 5pm. They offer all day Mexican breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is super cozy and cute. Service is great and food is fantastic at decent prices. I had the Mexican breakfast (scrambled eggs, with grilled chorizo, jalapeno peppers on a tortilla shell and home fries). Combining my favourite cuisine with my favourite meal of the day - nothing short of amazing! I highly recommend.

Luckily I skipped out on breakfast this morning before work and came upon this place shortly before noon hour. A Mexican breakfast sounded too go to be true! I ordered the house specialty, Huevos Rachero and a Mexican medium roast coffee. I've never had anything like it, it was so delicious! I spared nothing, they could have reused my plate afterwards it was so clean. I highly recommend this place.

I love Mexican food and I love breakfast/brunch, so it's no wonder I love this place so much. My boyfriend used to live around the corner and it used to be our go to place to eat in the area. It's definitely a hidden gem, everything on the menu is great and the service was always awesome. Will definitely be coming back, worth the trip across the city to this place, plus you can go down to the lakeshore for a walk afterwards.

Simply the best! Mexican & breakfast combined is genius! The two gentlemen are from Mexico and Carlo's mom helps cook. So it's the REAL DEAL! They put their heart and soul, and are constantly changing up their menu to keep up with demands.<br/><br/>Even though it's very tiny, it makes it personal and quant. AMAZING FOOD!!! <br/>Benny's, rancheros, chorizo, drinks, booze, etc.... They even do theme nights like Day of the Dead or even artists to display art. Not 100% Perfect but close to it!

Good service, great food. Been here twice in the last 2 weeks. First time I had the huevos breakfast, which was great. Second time I had the Mexican Benedict. Just as good. I will definitely be coming back here regularly.

Amazing little Mexican brunch spot with a very cool vibe. Had the Mexican eggs benedict and they were mouth wateringly good. Our Bloody Caesars were also outstanding.. spiced with horse radish and garnished with celery and 2 strips of fresh bacon. Definitely plan on making this a regular stop.

Best breakfast in etobicoke. My wife and I love this place! <br/>We have had breakfast here and blows my taste buds away.<br/>Great service and family friendly. Have brought my young ones and they love it too. <br/>We had dinner there last night as well and they didn't disapoint. Started with civiche and home made chic soup for my two boys.... They gobbled it up and then had fish taco and chorizo taco main all I have to say is mmmmmm.

Worst service ever..... I would have to say that this is the worst experience I have ever had... Even in Mexico. A bunch of young guys running a restaurant that could not even get an order str8. I invited one of my employees to for lunch and by no choice of mine he picks this dive... At first I thought that it had potential, but long behold it came time to order. We sat on the side walk table, I am not even sure that it was licensed by the city of Toronto. My employee and I ordered our meals... A simple enough process!!! So you would think.. After we ordered, I asked our server if I can add a beer to my lunch and was informed by him that I was only allowed to drink alcohol inside, so I said no problem... I understand the rules. <br/>A few minutes later one meal comes out and you guessed it... It was not mine. My employee got his meal and we waited for my meal for about 10 to 15 minutes... When we inquired about the second meal, the belligerent staff informed us that we only get one meal as we did not order a second meal. I was informed that I was picky and that’s why my meal did not come. I was told that I did not order a meal and as such did not get one... WOW... what a@@*@&#&# I was so hungry, and did not care if they were feading me Mexican junk... The service sucked so bad... The young attendants were more interested in interviewing a young lady that was applying for a server job... I mean hello... Your paying customer is asking for food and all you can say is you didn’t order and that you were picky... I give you 4 month tops before you are out of business and or locked out of your business

Excellent cafe, great addition to etobicoke. I had the pleasure of having their huevos rancheros last week. <br/><br/>first off, the coffee is fantastic. fresh, strong (they offer a medium as well) and just fantastic.<br/><br/>it was a slow time, so service was fantastic, courteous, obviously caring proprietors. the eggs were fantastic, authentic mexican dish, great sauce, excellent guac, perfect beans. overall it was exactly what i had hoped for. the fresh sliced baguette toast is a nice touch as well.<br/><br/>I can't wait to go back. <br/><br/>it is a little small, i imagine it will be pretty crowded weekends, get there early.

Great Mexican brunch in new TO. Great new brunch spot if you're looking for something different. Cool french vibe with mostly Mexican brunch food. Food seems quite authentic, comes out quick and is very tasty. Hot sauce at the table is great too!
