Review Quinn's Steakhouse - Toronto

It was a great evening served with top quality food. Excellent customer service and enjoyed the ambience. Top quality meat. Definitely recommend.

Good times and delicious food. I had the lobster mac and I wouldn't change anything about it. The rest of the table had steak and the surf and turf, empty plates at the end so that must be a good sign. The service was a bit slow, for a New Years Eve dinner they should have been better prepared. The ambiance is fantastic to share a few drinks with friends or family. I like this restaurant because it's easy to book a table and the food is really good, considering the location it has attractive menu prices.

My friends and I were here for summerlicious. The service was excellent. Our server was very pleasant and cheerful and the portions were just right. The steak was excellent, the chowder was fabulous and the salads were perfect. Dessert was a choice between brownies, rhubarb pie and a poppyseed cake I think. We had all 3 to share. I will be back for the steak.

We went to Quinn's for dinner and it was a great experience. From the service from the waiter to the food it was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, especially the crab cakes which I constantly crave. The steak was cooked exactly how I asked which was a big thing for me as it's either cooked well or raw at some other places I visited. The chicken was delicious from the few bites I had. We did order virgin ceasars which were also great. The desserts were also on point here. The creme brulee was amazing I felt like I should have ordered another. The pecan brownie I think it was was also great. They didn't cheap out on the desserts and were absolutely worth it.

Steakhouses have always been one of my favorite category of restaurants, and with this year's summerlicious I finally got a chance to try Quinn's. Appetizers Corn & Sweet Pepper Chowder Chilled Tomato Gazpacho Quinn's House Salad Entrée Steak Frites Salmon and Quinoa Bowl Steakhouse Burger Desserts Double-chocolate Fudge Brownie Lemon-Poppyseed Cake Blackberry & Ontario Rhubarb Crisp The gazpacho will be refreshing to have for this summer with this extreme heat we are experiencing. I really love the steak with the lemon aioli, it's a perfect match, and I highly recommended you to try it if you love steaks too. As for the desserts my personal favorite would be the Blackberry & Ontario Rhubarb Crisp, it's a bit sweet and yet sour, thus feels less filling. The fudge brownie is very rich in favour as well, recommended for chocolate lovers. Feel free to follow me on IG @mandilicous

I came here for summerlicious 2019. The food and service were both really good. Though I will say that I didn’t particularly like the chicken salad. The soup was amazing. Would definitely come back.

Food isn't bad. Steak was cooked well. Presentation was good. The lamb shank was soft and fall off the bone good. Pricing isn't bad for the location. Though the prices for the drinks were a bit more expensive.

Great little spot. Butternut squash ravioli they had for summerlicious was so good it had me wanting more. Service was like an oiled machine. Due to portion size being not very filling I had to deduct a star. Overall great discovery!

This is a great restaurant. We held our wedding lunch there this past weekend, and it was fantastic. The service was great, and the food was amazing! Can’t say enough about this place, we were very pleased!

My friends and I went here for Summerlicious last night and it was great. The steak was tender and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The brownie dessert was decadent and the perfect end to the evening (though a scoop of vanilla ice cream would make it even better). I would definitely go back.

Food was great but service not so much. Our server rarely checked on us and seemed miserable. Thankfully management was was nice enough to give us 30% off our meal.
Kim Clark
Our server was lovely. Very attentive without being annoying. A very busy night with Irish music and dancing. The food was delicious, as were the drinks.

I had the fried mixed seafood and beef bits , very tasty Very polite staff and quick service

The server Brianna was good when presenting specials and the menu. She was knowledgeable and attentive . But only checked back our table about 3 minutes into our dinner. We never really saw her after that We realized that my steak was to be medium yet it was medium rare very hard to chew. My husband's potatoes were cold. The mushrooms in brown butter we not hot and rather tasteless. We went to a show and really researched to eat at a higher end restaurant and treat ourselves . We try to get to a show a few times a year and really went all out we thought going to Quinns At the price we paid it should have been flawless. One mistake, I understand. But overall...was quite disappointed. I hesitate to give 3 stars but the restaurant was lovely and in the bar area the service was exceptional.

I come here a couple of times a year and always order the fall off the bone Lamb Shank Braised in Guinness which comes with barley risotto and a mix of grilled vegetables , crisp fried seafood and a beer. The PEI mussels in a white wine tomato sauce is also excellent. Service is typically good even at my typical time of 5pm when there's not as many customers. I literally have made trips from uptown to downtown just to eat at Quinn's (with my Groupon :P).

Came here for my birthday, service was fast, dinner came almost immediately after our starter which took maybe five minutes to get out, food was phenomenal and my server gave me a free dessert. Great restaurant.

Currently staying in the Sheraton and this review has nothing to do with the hotel but today we visted Quinns for a drink and some food. The female bar staff were just rude and when the food came out it was cold and some of it wasnt what we asked for. The bar waitress was just more concerned with telling people how tired she was. Whole experience was terrible, and to think then that they expect tips

The menu and the service were excellent. I would recommend it again and again.

Great staff and great food! Recommend this fine establishment to all!

Went there for dinner Saturday night. Very disappointed. Female bar server was not at all pleasant. Server in the restaurant was pretty good but food was just about warm. Totally over priced. Won't be back.

Service was top notch. Food came quickly and was delicious. They ask if you are going to show to expedite service to meet your needs. What I truly loved was that many of the staff were Irish. Minutes away on foot to the theatres as well.
Marg Hodgins
We went for date night. Hostess was quick at seating us and our server was very attentive. Our meal was excellent and yummy. She asked right away if we were attending a performance so she could make sure we were done in time. Location is just a short 5-7 minute walk from theatres.

Great food and service again

One of my favourite restaurants in downtown Toronto and did not disappoint again. Excellent Wagyu bavette steak and creme brulee for dessert will keep me coming back. The bartender should learn how to layer a black and tan beer properly though....

I came on a Tuesday night for a Summerlicious dinner. We had a reservation and were seated shortly after arriving. The restaurant has a charming, Irish vibe. The servers were also courteous and great at their work (they never once had to ask who ordered what when setting plates down! - a big plus for service). I ordered the Watermelon and Feta Salad (Appetizer), Steak Frites (Entree), and Fudge Brownie (Dessert). The taste of the food was good and portions left you satisfied, but the quality of the food for Summerlicious was a little short of the price paid (approx. $43 after tax and tip).

As a sidenote, the washrooms were well kept.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. I would return in the future for a meal in general if I'm in the area again.

Tried Quinn's for winterlicious lunch. The place wasn't very busy but the service was extremely slow. Had the duck liver pate as an app.. which seemed to be pre-plated and kept in the fridge overnight. The plate was ice cold and salad was wilted.. Even the toast was cold! Got the steak frits and it was sub par. It was topped with a curry flavoured butter if that's your thing.. not what I expected from a steakhouse. Best part about the main was the fries cause they reminded me of the ones from the Costco cafeteria. Lastly, I got a tiny piece of spice cake which really had no flavour. All-in-all a mediocre meal..
Hello. Imnikki
Usually I'm wary about restaurants located in a hotel but Quinn's proved me wrong. Despite being a steakhouse, dad and I were in no mood for red meat as we have been eating way too much this trip. We went against the against the grain and ordered salmon and veggie penne instead, and we were rewarded with a tender and flaky salmon with a crisped skin, and a rich and creamy veggie penne. The mixed green salad was so-so, and so was the pecan pie that was more like a caramel pie topped with pecans. The cheesecake was dense and smooth, and I forgo my pecan pie for my dad's cheesecake.

Despite the hotel hosting the athletes of the Invictus Games, and thus resulting in the restaurant being swarmed by hungry athletes and officials, the service was still flawless and prompt.

I had my first Summerlicious Lunch of 2017 at Quinn's with my team at work.

Quinn's is located at Sheraton Hotel beside Nathan Phillips Square - The restaurant looks a tad dated, but I suppose others would say it upholds the charm of an Irish Pub. Either way, it was cosy and we were seated immediately.
For the $23 Summerlicious Lunch, I ordered:

Appetizer - Corn & Sweet Peach Chowder
Main - Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Fries
Dessert - Quinn's Cheesecake with Fresh Ontario Berry Compote

The Chowder was sweet and delicious.
The Chicken Sandwich was stellar! The chicken breast was wonderfully moist and beautifully cooked. I have to say it's one of the better chicken sandwiches I've had in a very long time.
The Cheesecake was AMAZING, creamy, and the berry compote was so fabulous! (I doubt they make their own cheesecake though)

My major complaint is the service. We entered the restaurant at 12, and our server took our order at 12:35! Now that is A LOT of time to wait for service.
I understand it was Summerlicious and in turn, restaurants are quite busy, however we were starving by the time the food came and it was not a pleasant experience. We ended up leaving the restaurant at 2 pm - Not many people can take 2 hours off for a Work Lunch.

Surprisingly had a good meal here. Waitress was Eastern European and very attentive. She understood the menu and the options. I had the baby back ribs, good deal for $29 I reckon. Service and food was super quick, just what I was looking for.

I reminisced about the steakhouse that stood in the Sheraton hotel once upon a time. The yummy steaks and fresh croutons they offered there are still vividly in my mind.🤔 Now stands in it's place is Quinn's Steakhouse & Irish Pub. I was hoping that I can recreate the fond memories I had at the old steakhouse.😄

We ordered two steaks. The Ontario Hanover Farms New York Striploin and the 14 once AAA Alberta ribeye steak. For our appetizer we landed on the classic escargots. The steaks were done very nicely. Grilled to absolute perfection! The steaks were medium rare and done perfectly just as we had requested. The sweet meat aroma lingered on my palate as I took each bite. The only complaint that I had was the fact the ribeye steak wasn't intact with the bone? I was dissapointed with that as the menu didn't mention that the steak was 'boneless'? Why was the bone missing?🙄 I personally prefer the bone intact with the meat. The reason being the meat stays juicier. Nontheless, I really enjoyed the steaks. I was also quite impressed with the escargots! They were one of best escargots I've had in a while. The sauce it sat in was absolutely mesmerizing and it accompanied well with the slices of bagette toast it came with. I wanted slurp all the sauce that sat on my plate! It was really that good!🤗

Will I be returning to Quinn's? In a heartbeat! ❤ Although I still missed the old steakhouse that once stood there. I think I will be able to create some new memories at Quinn's!🍴🍛🐌🐄🍷🤔

I purchased a Groupon for Quinn's Steakhouse ($29 for $50) and visited there last night. My girlfriend ordered the special which was a 10oz top sirloin w/ 3 shrimp ($30) and I ordered the 12oz ribeye with a side of blue cheese ($36 + $7). Mine was cooked Chicago-style and they hit it on the head. Hers was cooked medium-rare and was also done wonderfully. Our server was very personable and definitely added to the experience. We finished with a cheesecake ($7) and left very satisfied. Great job!

Came here for breakfast while staying in the hotel, received great service and the food was very good.
Returned that evening to the bar to watch the Blue Jays game. The bartender Justin was absolutely amazing! He did his job very well was personable and funny, yet very professional. We ate supper here too and the food was once again amazing.

Quinn’s Steakhouse is located in the heart of downtown. It’s a large establishment to suit groups of all sizes. We had a group of 7, but only made a reservation for 5 and they were able to accommodate us. It was a weekday, so they weren’t as busy, not sure if they could do it on a weekend.
Lakeside
I like it. Went there once and ordered the Filet Mignon. The steak was cooked perfectly and the quality of meat was very good. It's not over priced like some places in the downtown area but you get quality. Returning to the Sheraton Center this weekend and I've already booked reservations at Quinn's

Went for 2014 Winterlicious dinner and had the corn chowder, the bacon wrapped steak and the brownie.
The corn chowder was watery and the corn was not properly pureeed.
The steak was overcooked and very tough. The mashed potatoes were not creamy. The veggies were a little too oily but at least edible.
The pecan brownie was terrible! I am a big dessert fan and this was an even more terrible end to a less than mediocre meal. The brownie tasted like cardboard. It was dry, cold and hard. It was tasteless and not sweet at all which I expect a dessert to be. It was clear that this came straight from a box. The portion was also very small and so it should have been accompanied with ice cream. I would not return to this restaurant.
Foodie13
Great service but poor to mediocre steaks. The prime rib was barely edible. Kudos to the server for asking why I barely ate it and offering a complimentary dessert.

It doesn't surprise me to read the negative comments ! LOL

Poor management. Lack of respect for customers. We made reservation and had to wait for 40 minutes without any customer care or due diligence from staff. Food was ok, however ordered beer was waited for 15 minutes. After all, 17.5% gratuity was automatically added to the bill! What for??
Waiter "forgot" to apply $25 gift card against our bill and had to be reminded.
Also, way too expensive for the service.
YoungFoodie
Overpriced for What it Is. Definitely overpriced for what you get. We got a "AAA" steak with bone marrow on top, except there was no marrow in the bone at all. The vegetables were unappetizingly al dente. Nothing special at all about this place, and we both agreed we'd had better steak at The Keg.

Faith in dining out restored. We went to Quinn's at a very busy time. There was an incident with the main waiter (there were several) and the manager. It was reported to the owner who is a class act.

Mixed drink paradise!. Quinns is easily the best place for a few drinks and appetizers. Easily the best whiskey sours in the GTA with service to match, expect to spend some great times here.

Rupert Young
Toronto

Terrible Experience. As soon as we got to the restaurant we had bad service - the ladies at the front are not able to manage seating. We waited for 10-15 minutes to be seated in an almost empty place. In addition our server was mediocre at best, the food was terrible - my steak was overcooked, the mashed potatoes seem to be made from instant and everything was generally way below an acceptable standard. The waiter comp'd one of our drinks, which far from made up for the experience. Don't eat here unless you want terrible service and bad overpriced food.
Rob M
Dining Experience. Had dinner on July 15. Bad experience. Steak was over cooked, salad was served with no dressing, coffee served with no milk. Not what one would expect when being charged a significantly high price.

Amazing!. I eat at Quinn's quite often as it is very close to my office and I have never been disappointed. I have tried many menu items but my favorite remains the Filet mignon... the steak is so tender and beautifully cooked to order.
The desserts are amazing and the whiskey list ( for after work time!) is the longest one I have ever seen!

Atmosphere was nice, lots of groups dinning. Went with my bf and our friends. Would suggest the ribs, smokey chicken penne and the new york sirloin, the prime rib though i asked for medium well and i got rare (not a fan of blood on my plate), but it was still tastey.

Go after 5 p.m.. I go here quite a bit. The food is very consistent. Ridiculously big portions. Fantastic selection of draught beers and whiskeys.

I wouldnt recommend going here during the day. Service at the bar is VERY slow - service on the floor even more so.

Nighttime is a different story. I recommend Tuesday-Saturday nights. Great staff on the night bar.
Not Impressed
What service?. Will never go back. Sat for 20 minutes without being acknowledged. The waiter ignored us, despite eye contact. We left in disgust. If you're looking for a steak house with the same price point go to the Keg. Shame on you Quinn's.

Great service, great food. Very loud "after work" bar audible from the dining area. Skip the 29-oz rib steak and take the smaller rib steak. Good selection of after-dinner whiskies.

I can't stop thinking about it. Incredible prime rib. best cut of meat i've ever had

AND

three of us had either prime rib or steak and 2 two beers each and our bill w/tip was ONLY 120

check this place out for sure

Great dinner last night at Quinn's. Hubby and I had a great dinner last night at Quinn's - the highlights were the incredible Irish Soda Bread - "It's so fluffy! :) And soft, tender and tasty... reminded me of a cross between bread and a tea biscuit.

The dried mushroom rubbed steak was incredibly tasty and the 10 oz sirloin was surprisingly tender and tasty, but the rib eye was the clear winner. And it came with incredibly addictive thinly sliced onion ring - thin, crispy, not oily at all... just yummy!

The biggest surprise was the veggies served on the side - they were perfectly sauteed to tender crisp in butter and herbs... usually veggies at a steak house are overcooked and tasteless, these were some of the best veggies we had ever eaten in a restaurant!

Our waiter was very helpful, and the service was quick and efficient - when we mentioned our mushrooms and water had not arrived with our food, he brought them right away.

A great dinner, we were too stuffed to order dessert but we will be back and hope to try the cheese board after dinner next time!

Quinn's was great!. I went to quinn's for the first time last weekend. my fiance and i were craving steak, and were in the area, so popped in.

it was great! i used to work at the keg, so i'm picky about how my steak is cooked. i got the filet, and it was really, really nice. medium rare was actually medium rare.

service was friendly, and quick. draft beer was fresh.

we'll be back!

Ummm Scallops. I dined at Quinn's with my mother before attending the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

We started with the Crisp Fried Seafood (scallops, shrimp, calamari, capers, and lemon remoulade dip) which was amazing! The scallops (one of my favourite foods) were some of the best I've had.

For my main, I ordered 7 oz Filet Mignon. The cut was great, and cooked perfectly to my specifications.

For dessert I ordered the Cheese Board (to split). I don't have a huge sweet-tooth, and I loved they had a cheese selection.

I would recommend this resto to anyone, especially great for a pre-theatre spot because the service was quick and friendly.

Great spot!. Quinn's Steakhouse is a fantastic restaurant with delicious food and a fun, welcoming atmosphere. I had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly while my wife went with the lobster tails. The filet was juicy and full of flavour and the lobster tails were divine. I strongly recommend you try them. Apart from the food, the service was great; we had a wonderful conversation with one of the Irish girls. All in all, we had a brilliant time and it won't be long before we return.

Steakhouse. This steakhouse was located in the Sheraton hotel.
We walk in from the hotel entrance and was welcome by the hostess and was offer the steakhouse or deli.
We decide for the steakhouse.
We had skillet shrimp and charcuterie for starters.
for our entree we had lamb Shank and seafood linguine and for dessert we share a tartufo.
The hostess was pleasant and our server Anna was great the food at the steakhouse was great for the price.
I would recommand this hide out.
Tanya
Waste of money!. This restaurant was astonishingly horrible! I have been to some great steakhouses in Toronto and this one is definitely not one of them. Right from the moment we walked in we were treated very poorly. There were maybe two other tables occupied and it took more than 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress came over and was originally very pleasant until we mentioned that we were staying at the Sheraton Hotel (which this restaurant appears to be a part of as it is inside the hotel) and we had been given a 50% off discount card for meals within the hotel. When we asked if the card would be honoured at Quinns the waitress stated that they were not affiliated with the hotel so "no". At that point her attitude toward our table changed entirely and she became incredibly rude and short with us. The meals arrived, I ordered a filet mignon which was absolutely by far the WORST steak I have ever tried to eat. It was a horrible cut of meat that I had a hard time cutting through nevermind chewing it, it was tasteless couldn't get past the second bite. I had also ordered a lobster tail and it was also tough, quite obviously over cooked, and some parts were actually crunchy. I asked the server for some butter for the lobster and she came back with some sort of sauce that she said was supposed to be hot but it was ice cold and tasteless as well. So needless to say I had quite a lot of food left on my plate when the waitress came to clear them, she took the plate firstly without asking if I was finished! Secondly without asking anything at all about my meal and whether it was alright or not? Then she proceeded to bring us the bill without offering anything else at all, just dropped it on the table and walked away without a word. This is the first time in my life I have ever not left a tip for a server, she was just that awful! When I signed the bill (paid by credit) I stroked out the space where it says tip amount (line right through it) and wrote the total bill as it appeared above that, signed it and walked out. Only to be chased through the lobby of the hotel by the waitress yelling through a crowd of people "um, excuse me there doesn't seem to be any gratuity on here are you sure you didn't make a mistake" Not only did she humiliate herself but it was extremely embarrassing for myself and my family and friends that I was with. For a meal over $200 I have to say that I wish I went to the Keg down the street!

Not recommended. Well my wife ordered the Prime rib steak it was crap. It was cooked correctly but was the cut of meat was bad. She ordered the pan fried mushrooms with her dinner and they never made it, plus, the baked potato was wrong. I ordered the two lobster tails and it was only just ok. The waiter was ok just what he had to work with was below average. Although they did the right thing and didn't charge for my wifes meal, I wouldn't recommend. It is an attempt at class but obviously something is wrong. As a side not The coffee was good and so was the desert.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OF SHOPSY'S (which is great BTW) In a word ... underwhelming. Ordered the "Chieftain" Rib Steak. Not impressed. Even sprung for the Bacon & Cheddar Jacket for the baked potato. Even less impressed. The potato was over done and hard. The steak was flavourless and seemed like it was aged in oil. I've never had an "oily" steak, but that's the best way I could describe it. Oh, and if you are going to have Horseradish at a steakhouse ... make sure it's good ... not that slightly grey vinegary stuff that barely resembles Horseradish. A real letdown considering that they share space with Shopsy's who is still bringing their A-Game.

Quinn's Jacket!. I recently ate at Quinn's for the first time - it was delish!
For me, the highlight was the baked potato in a cheese and bacon jacket. It was the perfect dish to accompany the tasty steak I enjoyed.

I also tried smoked salmon on soda bread, which was incredible.

The staff knew their stuff and all in all it was a great experience! Will definitely go back!

Quinn's Irish Steakhouse. I dined at Quinn's prior to the ballet. It's located right besides the Four Seasons Center, so great venue pre ballet or opera.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and the service was awesome. A few of the servers were from Ireland, with cute accents, adding the authenticity of the Irish cuisine.
I ordered the all Canadian high-grade Triple A steak, which was served with a choice of potato or vegetables... and the meal was unreal! The steak almost melted in my mouth.
My date ordered the Chare Island salmon, which is actually flown in from Clare Island, Co. Mayo in Ireland. Also fab!
For desert we split the chocolate brownie (chocolate espresso glaze with raspberry sauce) which is perfect for any chocolate fanatic.
I would recommend this resto to anyone. I want to go back for the bread pudding (which the table next to me was devouring) and also try the crisp roasted duck leg. yummmmmm.

Another awesome Quinn eatery!!!. Wonderful decor, exquisite food and an all around awesome night out!!! This eatery offers two choices......Shopsy's if you're looking for a nice simple meal and the actual steak house if you a looking for a special night out! Most of the staff is friendly and competent and the atmosphere is authentic! Slainte!!!

Curries Fries...Yum!. This place is unexpectedly "off the hook".

First off, this place is a tad hard to find. It is in the Sheraton hotel, on the south east side of the building on the main level. If you see Traders in there just keep on walking east and you'll see it.

This place is really unique because it is advertised as a Steakhouse and an Irish pub, and to top it all off, it serves Shopsy's menu food.

When you walk into the place, on the left is the bar area, if you walk straight there is the dining room for Quinn's, and if you walk to the right there is a dining room for Shopsy's. I could be wrong about all this as I didn't soak the whole atmosphere in (as I was in the bar). They have about 10 taps of beer or so, regular stuff for an Irish pub, but they have Guiness that needs to be pumped from the keg (1st time I've seen this).

On to the food....amazing! My wife had the steak sandwich she said was the best she's ever had, and I went with the more old school smoked turkey Shopsy's sandwich with fries. I asked if I could have some of their curry sauce on the fries. That curry sauce was good and the sandwich was exactly like I remember from Shopsy's.

Although I'm not a whiskey drinker, for those that are they have a 2 sided menu full of different whiskey choices. The bar staff is great and I will definitely be returning to this place.

I had steak and chicken here and it was okay. I think this place is better for grabbing drinks, appetizers and desserts.

So, first and foremost: the steak at Quinn’s is really good. Cut from Canadian “AAA” beef and dry-aged in house for between twenty-five and thirty-five days depending on the cut. Those fiv

Seeing that they had potato and leek soup on their menu, I opted for it as I thought the warmth would help me thaw and shake the cold of that night. I followed it up with medium bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin and brownies for dessert. It was definitely filling, my steak was a generous chunk and of course the fact that it was wrapped in bacon made me happy.
