Perfect little chip shack!!!. The girlfriend and I 'had' to come to Thomspon for a trade show in May. After asking many locals about their favorite places to eat I found the same name kept popping up in the conversation, it was Popeyes.
First night we ordered a wimpy, brutas, small box of fries and two drinks. I thought they were kidding when telling me it was about 20$. Amazing.
The wimpy (loaded double paddy cheeseburger) was perfectly cooked and 100% grade A wesome beef. The taste was what you'd expect out of a perfect chipshack burger. The girls brutas (smokie) was exactly what she was hoping for. The fries, in both our opinions were perfect. Hand cut double fried perfection.
The staff are great people. The owner Alice is an amazing and wonderful lady. Once I found out she'd never heard a Bob Marley song I had to make sure that happened before we left back to winnipeg.
You will not be disappointed.
Word on the street is that this is the place to go in the summer... so its summer and im in thompson. so i went. had a wimpy burger and fries. decent flat grill burger. double patty. kinda like something youd make at home. fresh cut fries which were very good. id eat here again. they need to throw some lettuce and a slice of tomato on that burger though.. spruce it up a bit
That Darn Squirl. I was in town for a graduation celebration and had too much fun. i was craving something flavorful and not exactly low in calories. after being fightened half to death when the cook called out "ORDERS READY!" on an old mega phone with big speakers on an shaded deck i got to enjoy one of the best burgers in thompson. Then this lil squirell comes and begs for food. i give it a french fry and it leaves, only to return for a sip of my cola.
Burgers & Fries !!. Those are the only things served here and I would say they do them quite well too !
I usually do a single cheeseburger and small fries which is way more food than I really need but an occaisional indulgence you need to partake in once in a while !
Burgers are juicy, cooked well done as they should be, buns are soft and fresh. Fries are spectacular.
There are no frills here just good food.
My only complaint is the long wait time to receive your food but once you do get it...it really is fresh !!
This place is on the road from the airport into town...you can't miss it.
