Timmay's fills a need. Thank goodness for TimHo's sometimes! It was a Sunday, Father's Day, and I was riding fast on a long bike trek from the end of the King George Skytrain line to a point semi-unknown to me where a team of Greenies was going to uproot invasive English ivy that was strangling Canadian maple trees. Curse those Pommys and their ivy, anyway! I did not make coffee at home because I calculated I could find a decent cuppa SOMEWHERE between Whalley and Langley. But you know how it is when you're looking for a postbox or a pay phone or something common like that, and all of a sudden you can't find one to save your life? That's how it was with me and coffee on the Fraser Highway that morning.
But this Timmy's jumped out at me. I'm a coffee snob, I confess, so I try to avoid chains. Tim's cappucinos have never impressed me, and I eat SO many of their doughnuts at work at my hospital when people bring boxes. But I had to have some caffeine before I went into a withdrawal headache. I spruced up the coffee by ordering it with a hit of hazelnut flavour, and that covered the bog-standard taste of Tim's blend. The cherry cheese Danish and a special promo item called a "Maple Crunch'" (chocolate bar doughnut with crispy bits, only 65¢) were bland but not bad. I'm just glad Timmer's was there in my time of need.
