Best Sushi place out there!, i Love it. always friendly. I GO FOR THE FOOD! its good sushi always fresh and fruit at the end is very sweet the miso soup is good. and you can always count on them to be welcoming
Veggie sunomono came with fruit which was a bit odd. Agedashi tofu was very crispy. Chicken katsu was crispy, had good flavour, and the portions was huge. Service was attentive.
Next to Noma, this is my second favourite sushi restaurant. The service is consistently friendly, good food portions, good prices, and fresh food.
I found their California roles to have too much mayonnaise, but other than that this place is decent. Also, we got some free extras which is always nice.
Village Sushi is a small little sushi joint located in the Hillcrest Village Shopping Centre in Cloverdale. The interior looks like your typical sushi place with mahogany-coloured tables and dark faux leather chairs. There are sectioned-off rooms along one wall while the rest of the interior is filled with regular tables.
Village Sushi is a wonderful place to have quality sushi. I ordered miso soup, crunch roll, appetizer tempura and an unagi roll. The thing I love is that the food is consistently good and consistently fresh. I'll always go for quality over quantity when it comes to sushi. The service is excellent whether you choose take-out or to stay in. I find that sometimes restaurants cheap out when you order take out, but not Village Sushi. The order sizes are always consistent and the food is amazing. I don't understand the review someone else had about the miso soup. Mine today was great! They go the extra mile when you dine in and bring a cute fruit dish. It finishes off the dining experience well and this is why I think Village Sushi is top notch.
I make a habit of eating here when I travel to the lower mainland. Presentation is far better than most corner sushi spots and the taste of the various dishes I've tried have never disappointed.
Best sushi in Clayton Heights!!
My favourite is the dynamite roll, and the yam tempura.
Friendly staff, delicious sushi.
Would definitely recommend!!!
Pretty good find. only real complaint was that i ordered 3 totally different dishes and got honey dijon mustard on all three. odd enough on one japanese dish but three? still pretty good. i'd go back if i was in the area
Best sushi by far! I've been going to Village Sushi since they first opened and I'm never disappointed. The food is always very fresh, the staff & owners are very very friendly. I love village sushi and it's my favourite place to take family & friends.
Good sushi, high price. I really like their sushi and my bf likes their teriyaki plate, but the prices of the sushi are just so high. Yah I get it, they have quality fish, but since dining more on this side of the bridge, specialty restaurants or specialty cuisines you pay through the roof for the food. We can't walk out of there without spending at least 45.00 and that's for a moderate amount of food.
I think if they added more combos that you can order that a bit more affordable, I would go here more often. I really like the cute fruit plate they give you at the end and they have good service for the most part.
I also like that they serve wild sockeye salmon. Great sushi, just a little pricey.
