Hawthorne is the place to be for an incredible selection of beers and fantastic atmosphere. The decor is amazing, and the menu has lots of unique options that you wouldn't find at a regular pub. The staff are really knowledgeable about their beer selection and always willing to answer any of your questions. Service is fast and friendly. Hawthorne has quickly become my go-to pub!

Can't wait to go back! What a cozy place well situated on the main street of Cloverdale. After wandering the antique and novelty shops stop in for a glass of their amazing craft beers. I'm not even a beer drinker but the Cherry Beer was amazing and there was such a great selection to go with appies out of this world! After we savored the stuffed chicken breast with mashed potatoes and OMG. I have definately found my new favorite place to hang out! Especially on a nice day with the open patio! Love it!!!
Quirky and fun decor and atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food and drinks are enjoyable and there is a wide selection with something for everyone. Best part is their beer selection (shocking, I know). Great options at good prices.
Hawthorne Beer Market is located in downtown Cloverdale. Its a sister restaurant to the Washington Avenue Grill (White Rock) and The Vault (also Cloverdale). They are a chic beer loving bistro in the heart of this old town. They have been open for approximately 2 years. I liked that their beer list featured mostly locally produced creations. I went with the Zunga, a blonde beer. It had a wheaty flavour and was easy to drink.
Short staffed tonight but you wouldn't know it with Emily Mike and Tammy. I've been coming to this establishment for a long time and each time it's been pleasing

Inexperience of staff readily apparent. Horrible service. Couldn't identify her left asscheck, nevermind bring me the right beer I'd ordered. Maybe if she were the slightest bit knowledgable on the products she was supposed to be selling then she could have done so. At least half of them know nothing. If I were the other half I would be frustrated to have such simple co-workers. Unless they're all that bad in which case this place is simply taking up space
Great food and service. Loved the beer menu and beer cocktail specials, we had the magarita pizza and it was amazing, plus bruchetta also fabulous. Server was excellent and we had a great time.
Great addition to Cloverdale. Originally went there for their "When it rains, we pour" $5 lager deal and ended up having a great meal. From mussels to pizza, we all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. I expected it to be like drumsticks with waffles but it was more like a schnitzel or a fried chicken steak. The meal was accompanied with greens and goat cheese. The sauce was a brown sauce with mushrooms. Very tasty but a tad bit too salty.
The restaurant itself has really cool decor. I can only describe it as industrial chic. The service was wonderful. The waitress was attentive without being too present. Since it's a beer market, we asked if they had a beer sampler menu but unfortunately they didn't. I think it would be good addition to their menu.
All in all, we enjoyed ourselves. It's definitely a restaurant we'll be visiting again.
This place is awesome! If you want fine dining don't go here BUT if you are looking for a great place for an after work beer, appies and dinner than this is your place. We are new to town and exploring different resturants around cloverdale and surrey and this is our new favourite. The atmosphere is great with a feel like a downtown portland pub feel. The list of beers is a decent size with great menu. We had the clam pot and the Maui Wowie pizza. Prices were good and we left saying that we will be back! Thanks Hawthorne for bringing a great pub feel to Cloverdale! You guys rock!!
Funky little place...great beers to choose from, duck poutine was great as well as the pizza...service was pretty good...give it a try.
Great Food, Beer & Atmosphere. Recently my husband and I joined friends for dinner at Hawthorne's and quite enjoyed it. The decor is very well done and has a comfortable feel to it. We started our meal with seawater garlic butter mussels which were very fresh and followed it with a tasty pizza. Others in our party had chicken wings which they enjoyed and we shared french fries which were excellent. I had a beer sampler and they were all to my liking and also a great way to try different types of craft beer. Everyone else enjoyed their beers. We found the waitress friendly and attentive and definitely would recommend this bistro.
