My wife went here with friends a few years ago, and was not impressed, but touring the area this year, we decided to stop and give the spot another try. My wife reports that they have really gotten their act together and things were much better. She had a crab-cake dish that was delicious and I had one of the best Reuben sandwich I have eaten. The place was very COVID safe and masks were suggested and our table was nicely spaced away from others. The restaurant is also a nice book store with a eclectic selection of books. Out front they also carry local products, bakery products and even a few local vegetables. Although I do not know anything about it, but they also apparently operate a popular cooking school.

Very cute stop along our travels with a very unique menu and tasty options. Has a little bookstore and shop inside. The desserts looked so delicious but we were stuffed full from our meal! Highly recommend The Flying Apron!

The Flying Apron has a wonderful dining area with a cozy cafe with tons of books, and a small shop with jars of preserves, vegetables, and take home meals. The brunch menu on weekends has a lot of options from pancakes, steak, fish cakes, chowder, burger, eggs benedict, and more. We visited during their dessert tasting week and it was delightful trying smaller portions of their dessert menu for a great price (3 for $10 or 5 for $15). Everything was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Be sure to visit the washroom area to check out the beautiful paintings for sale by local artists. Also, I recommend making a reservation before going as it can get busy on the weekend. There are also special events that take place once in a while (such as the dessert tasting week that we saw on their Instagram), so be sure to check their social media for upcoming events and new menus. Parking is available near the front door and across the street on a gravel lot.

What a find!!!! Great food, second to none!! And locally sourced, well done. I have not had halibut for some time, pleasantly surprise to see it on the menu for a very reasonable price. Over the top presentation and taste. They also have a nice shop for some of their favourites to take home. We bought the BBQ sauce. Worth the short drive from Halifax. We will be back!!!!

THE FOOD. Oh my goodness the food is indescribably delicious. We were too busy "Yumming" to take photos during our meals, Lol. Our room was immaculately clean and very well appointed. We loved relaxing and enjoyed the view on our balcony. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The only negative we have is that the air conditioner was noisy and the room got hot without it. We will be returning!

Amazing night out with incredible food. We couldn't stop raving over the food (pictures are only of a couple dishes, but everything was equally impressive); they had an excellent variety of local craft beet and cider available; every server we interacted with was pleasant and went above and beyond; and the restaurant / inn itself are adorable and immaculate! Will definitely be returning ASAP to try some more yummy local food🥰 Photos are of: - Steak Taco Bowl - Summer Vegetable Thai Curry (with house-made garlic naan!) - Panzanella Salad (starter)
