Review The Village Restaurant - Stoney Creek

From the outside, it appears to be a single building but as you enter and look around you notice three quite distinct areas. The nicely renovated sections blend together to provide a dining room, dinner and sports bar all in one restaurant. Food is great, prices are very affordable, service is good. Parking can be found.

The service was slow. The server brought our food out and tried to give our food to the next table and realized it while putting the plates down. She then quickly turned and brought them back into the kitchen and them immediately came out with the two plates again. She then came to our table with the plates of food. It was entertaining if nothing else.

Had a private birthday party last year September with around ~20 guest. Can’t say enough good things about the restaurant owners, the staff, the awesome food. They made us feel welcome and everything was top notch. Just have to say thank you to everyone involved. Will surely recommend if you wanna have a private gathering or party.

The Village almost never disappoints. Sometimes when it's incredibly busy, service is slow, and that is understandable. But tonight, there were a few tables, and service was still lagging. The food is worth the wait, however. I myself have quite a few restrictions and can always find something to eat. They have quite a few vegetarian options, can't say I can say the same for vegan, but if you're Halal, they have quite a bit of seafood options too. The servers are funny, engaging and personable. It's a restaurant that feels like home.

We had the pleasure of dealing with Mary when we booked their restaurant for my son’s baptism a few months ago. We found Mary to be very kind, courteous, and welcoming. Our son has a medical complication, and she was very accommodating with our requests. Pricing was very fair, and they went above and beyond with their service, including a customized menu with personalized photos included in the menu. We had booked the main dining room for the occasion. Service was great on the day of. Although things got very busy, the servers did a great job making sure people were getting their orders. The food was delicious. The kitchen did a great job with the food. Everyone was praising the roast beef. I ordered the grilled chicken, and thought it was quite delicious as well. And the salmon was very good, especially the rice that came with it. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely go there again. They made my son’s special day very special. We’re very happy that we decided to go to them to celebrate our son’s special day. Thank you! (Update: We did go back for dinner for my dad’s birthday, and we also had a great experience. More on that on a separate review).

Like always the food is great and staff are very friendly. I probably frequent an average of once per week. Glad to have seen them come out of the covid restrictions. Family owned business in the heart of downtown Stoney Creek is what everyone should want to support.

Tried takeout for the first time from here. Ordered (2) sandwiches for lunch on a Sunday and it was about 45 min wait time. I tried the Reuben on Rye Sandwiche and it was delicious; lots of meat and great tasting sauerkraut. Would definitely have it again. The staff was friendly during pickup and the ensured we had the cutlery and condiments required.

Amazing hidden gem! We stopped by to try this place and the food was absolutely incredible!! We were greeted promptly by Debbie. She was delightful, outgoing and friendly. The restaurant vibe was also very cozy and welcoming. We ordered the chicken Caesar wrap with soup and Reuben on rye. Everything was so delicious and well made! I even ordered an extra soup because of the taste, very yummy. Again Debbie was a great server to us, and I recommend being served by her when you come!! Thanks again we’ll be back!

The atmosphere and wonderful staff upon arriving was lovely. I loved the steak and egg breakfast it was cooked to perfection. I couldn't finish everything on my plate as there was so much food. Our server was a definite delight and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience at your restaurant. I will recommend your restaurant to everyone.

Our waitress was very nice & dedicated to our table. No complaints about the service. Nice atmosphere. But the booths are filled with crumbs, and can tell the do not wipe them down, table was filthy, was not wiped down and all throughout the restaurant you can see under the booth's chunks of food, bar top had crumbs all over it. The food was not edible. Both my father and I had the fish and Chips, way too much batter, huge pieces but barely any fish, and fries were pure grease. My mother had the hot roast beef and was slopped with gravy, couldn't even see the meal, and tasted like cardboard. This was a late Mother's Day lunch and I'm very disappointed I took my Mother & Father here. Will never go back.

Highly recommend The Village Restaurant in Stoney Creek! The food is great! Mary and her staff are great and always make sure we are well taken care!! It's a very warm and welcoming atmosphere! We go there often... breakfast, lunch and dinner! Never had a bad meal there. ��

Went to the Village today for dinner. A friend of mine recommended it and said it was good . What an experience I had . The fish was so full of grease, I swear you could get a cup of oil out of the fish alone. The fries were cold. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was my first time there and it will be my last.

Our Family was having Easter supper today and was very pleased at the waitress,the food and for accommodating two extra guests that surprised us. My son and his new wife celebrating their birthdays today. My only complaint was my nephew pointed out that if there was 3 people having a meal the birthday guests meals were free showing it written on drink or dessert menu.........well they only had dessert brought to them as they had eaten before coming and did not want a meal......needless to say my surprise when their desserts were on the bill!! ...not cool......did I say anything? No..... as I felt I did not want to bring attention and also they should of did the right thing and not put it on the bill.

Awful service, long wait, and mediocre food. The entire experience was terrible, what a waste of a beautiful Saturday morning. Took an hour and 15 minutes for food to get to the table. No water refill and no coffee refills. Completely ignored by server

My baseball team booked the Chelesha room for breakfast between games today. Mel, Shannon and Mary had everything organized and quick service got us fed and back to the ballpark for our next game. Great food and great service!! Thanks so much!!

I've eaten there so many times and love the food and the service. They make the best pepper steak around. :) With living around the corner from the restaurant for years, I know the family personally and they are the best people, warm and accommodating to your requests. Gus started the business and Mary took it over and she always has a smile and nice greeting for me when I go there. Thinking about it, I have to go again to get another great meal. <3

Went there with the family on the Sunday of Family Day weekend. They were busy, so the wait for our food was kind of expected. What wasn't expected was for my daughter to find a large piece of plastic in her beef dip sandwich. Not the server's fault, but definitely not something that should have slipped through the cracks.

My wife and I had our first visit today. The greeter was very accommodating and seemed happy to be so. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We had a late lunch. Sandwich, burger, fries. I have to say the burger smelled amazing even from the kitchen! We had a very enjoyable meal. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Even the price was a pleasant surprise. Everyone should enjoy a meal here.

Want a great meal in an environment that is excellent. With Beautiful food, servers that are super, cheese cake you can't get anywhere else and a reminder of old style restaurants - this is it!

As a family, we have loved this place from the very beginning!!! We moved to Stoney Creek the same year you guys opened and are very grateful for that!!! My grandson just celebrated his 7th birthday there, a 4th generation customer!!! He was treated so well as always and loved the birthday brownie for dessert! What a wonderful surprise that was!!! Thanks to all for making his day so special!!!

No fail breakfast....always good food. Ask your server what is best

this was our first trip here and won't be our last. we had a gang of twenty in the private room and everything was top notch. great service and awesome food made for a great night. and the birthday girl got her meal for free. looking forward to trying many more menu items in the future.

We were a party of nine for a birthday dinner. The food was great but the service was incredibly slow and the waitress wasn't very attentive. I was also there for breakfast and the same thing good food but incredibly slow service and it wasn't that busy.
