Food was fantastic, setting was charming, and the background music was fun and on point. I ate a delicious meal of striploin steak with chimichurri, parsnips and Jerusalem artichokes, and a side order of hand cut French fries. For dessert, Banoffee pie. (The banana is in the chocolate layer creating a delicious and unique take on this dessert.) This delicious meal was courtesy of the lovely couple who own this restaurant and who are clearly pouring their heart and soul into every aspect of this wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is cozy and feels like you’re sitting in the dining room at a friends house. None of the sensory overload you get in a typical downtown restaurant. I highly recommend that you make the trip out there (make reservations though!)

This was an incredible surprise. We had heard good things about The Jack Ketch but where not prepared for the awesome experience right in our own back yard. The restaurant is an inviting small house on Stittsville main Street. The decor is tasteful and not over stated. The tables and chairs are all from the same design as you expect but when it comes to the tableware things are a little different, a welcome different. The utinsels that are given are appropriate for the fare being eaten and one would expect but they do not come from the same drawer 😁. And that doesn't stop there, each of us got a separate completely different plate for our appetizer and then for our mains. And I must say for this very personal experience was just the right touch. Obviously not what you would expect from a box chain restaurant, but this is as far as you can get from a bog standard eatery. And to finish off the awesome service we got we were sent home with our left overs on some more China plates. I love the added touch, you are not expected to bring them back but obviously why wouldn't you. And with the incredible food that was made for us from a very simple menu there is no worry that Kevin and Alli will get there dishes back😁. We had the Heirloom Tomato Tart and Coconut Shrimp to start- awesome flavours with the Basil and yoghurt for the shrimp and the tomato tart was spot on with more awesome party in your mouth flavours. We each had a different main and couldn't help but sharing a bite as we raved over reach dish. This doesn't happen often as invariably 1 of the 4 of us has a dish we don't care for, not so with awesome dishes Kevin puts together. The eggplant parmesan had been changed out that very night to a Beet Canneloni dish to my daughters dismay, but she stuck to the idea of a lighter fare and we all agreed that we had never tasted beets quiet in that way, well done! The lamb, halibut and steak dinners did not disappoint either, each with their own unique taste. Kevin has added just that special something to each dish to make it something actually worthwhile going to The Jack Ketch for. The only thing that is a little disappointing is that there was still another 2 mains and 5 appetizers to taste 😀. We really appreciated the simple menu and look forward to delighting out palette at The Jack Ketch again. And I must add that the staff that Kevin and Alli have added to their team is great and very attentive. You will never be without water 😎. Well done Kevin and Alli, you've made us executioner converts.
