Review Loose Tie - St. John's

An amazing cocktail bar with amazing music and staff! Louis, Aaron and Alexi are amazing! Good place to go to if you want to get away from the traditional Irish music in a pub!!

First off, their drink menu is unreal, all super delicious. I've tried most of the drinks there and I've loved almost all of them. The food however can be hit or miss. My first time there, everything was great, and tasted fantastic. The second time, everything was SUPER oversalted. Still would recommend, if only for the drinks alone, and I'd still totally get more food there, as I'd guess this was a one off

First time in this lovely, local establishment and we all had a superb time! Went downtown to see local musicians @baccalieuband who were playing on @GeorgeStreetNL as part of #Rocktober in @DowntownStJohns. Menu selections were varied and tasty, higher end prices; great cocktails but few to choose from (I suspect due to current Covid-19 restrictions) ambiance was super sleek and cool, clientele & staff were beautiful, trendy and happy. Highly recc Loose Tie for a great night out, especially when live music starts you out and you can seque into DJ or dance music 👍🏻

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. Drinks are ok but terrible food matched by terrible service. Seriously the place is dead on a Friday night and it took far too long for drinks and apps. Waited for nearly an hour for a bread and cheese board...really it was that bad. The sharing plates were a disgrace, not enough sense to provide bread to match the items. I know why the place was empty!

So enjoy ourselves every time we go here. Drinks are awesome and food is fabulous! Hugely recommend!

The chicken was amazing! And you have to try the Two Weeks of Heat! Best drink I have ever had in my life!

Nice lounge with great cocktails. Loved the gimlet and sazerac. Nice to see a higher end lounge on George street.

Solid bar, fairly expensive drinks tho so unless you want a well made cocktail you're better off drinking at home first

My wife and I went last night and had the Valentine special. 3 courses for $50 including drink and gratuity. What an amazing deal! I always thought of The Loose Tie as a bar not a restaurant. But after the experience last night I was enlightened. It was the best dish I’ve have in this city and the service was top notch. You really need to check it out. It’s sooooo good.

Had my 40th in the private room. Food was amazing as was the staff. Went back a few weeks later and had an anniversary dinner. We both loved it. Great for casual small plate eats but also offer some lovely entrees. One of the better places to eat on George st.

Had my Birthday party in the private room. They set it up as a small cocktail lounge and it was fantastic. Excellent space to mingle and have drinks and apps. Service was amazing, very attentive and quick. Food and drinks were delicious. All the attendees have been saying what a great space it was and what a great time they had. Would recommend �

Friday night impromptu pint at Greensleeves led us upstairs for non-pub grub and it was amazing! Delicious dishes, great cocktails, great service and lovely decor and vibe. Reminded me of a chic London bar-we will be back!

We absolutely loved it at Loose tie tonight. It was our 10th anniversary, so we stole away for a quick weeknight dinner and drink. Our waitress was awesome. The food was perfectly cooked and worth every penny. Drinks were delicious too! We had an amazing experience and will be back!

My 12 friends and I spent New Years Eve at loose tie. It was well priced, planned and the staff was incredibly friendly. My only complaint would be that it is not wheel chair accessible (but not many places DT St. John’s are), but the staff was very accommodating.

By far my favourite place on George!! Awesome atmosphere, delicious food, wicked music, fantastic staff and to die for drinks. You must try the Europa Sensation, absolutely delicious!!

My wife and I ordered a bruschetta, Chicken Amaretto, and the Filet Mignon. Drinks were a Newman’s sour and Irie Mon. Nothing less than 5/5 on everything we had. The steak melted like butter and the chicken was perfect. Drinks were easy going down as well. Would never have thought this place had food like it does but was a great surprise. Thanks loose tie, for giving us a perfect date night. We’ll be back, highly recommended!

My girlfriends and I went to loose tie to start off our night celebrating my best friends birthday. She had won a $50 gift card from Hits FM so she was going to treat us to a bottle of red wine. We went up to the bar and from the very start the bartender (lady) was very rude!! She smirked and laughed at us when we first walked up but once we asked for a bottle of $45 wine her attitude totally changed to being super nice. Then when the gift card was presented she smirked again and looked at the other bartender and starting laughing and went back to being totally rude. It’s like we were judged and she didn’t think we should be there for some reason. This will be our first and last time there! The service we received from the actual bar was very poor but we did have one lady who tended on our table for the full hour we were there and she was really nice! Also, I tried calling them to make a table reservation and for two days straight I could not get a hold of anyone. I called 3 times Thursday evening and again Friday evening twice with no answer. So for anyone trying to call and make a reservation, good luck!!

Was downtown celebrating Canada Day and hoping from pub to pub when we accidentally found this place. What a pleasant surprise! The food was absolutely amazing. The tiki drinks were really really cool. The service was outstanding! We will definitely be back again!!!

The goat cheese pastry is sooooo good! Amazing food, atmosphere was very cool, and the service was perfect. Can’t beat the prices either. Mixology was top notch, loved the “Fer Me Ma”. Will defiantly be back :)

It's very rare you find an establishment on George Street which offers high quality food, mixology, service, staff, clientele, vibe and great sound. Loose Tie has everything going right for it and they're not afraid to step outside the standard George Street mold. 5/5

Food took over an hour and a half when we had only ordered appetizers and looked like it was sitting in the window for the majority of that time! Besides that seemed like most of the food that actually came out looked microwaved. Would definitely not go back nor recommend it to anyone, big disappointment.

Myself and my fiancé had supper here for the first time tonight and it was a great experience! The drinks and food were delicious! The food was served promptly and the service was excellent! We will definitely be back.

Been here a couple of times now , food is delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful . Restaurant is very modern and has a great atmosphere, I can't believe this place isn't blocked every night . Will be back again for sure .

What a great spot to have a some drinks and apps before hitting the street! We got there early (6:30pm). It wasn’t crowded at all. Drinks were great! Food was yummy! Service was awesome and we stayed for almost 4 hours drinking and hanging out. Great time!

Phenomenal and tastefully inspired food. This place always impresses!

My fiance and I celebrated our birthday over the weekend at Loose Tie. I have nothing but wonderful things to say. Lovely atmosphere, tasty drinks, and very welcoming staff. We were even treated with a bottle of champagne. This is definitely be a new regular spot for us :)
