Great atmosphere, super friendly staff and owners, great coffee, great live music from local artists. And the walk up window is genius.
Best coffee in town. I had a flat white and their signature banana bread and was not disapointed. Amazing baked goods, fantastic group of staff and really cool interior. 5/5 would recommend.
Great coffee and tasty treats!! Well worth the trek in from Paradise!
Love the walk up window so much so I don't have to leave my dog! Worth the walk here just for that. And the veggie wrap is delicious and a sensible price, keep up the good work!
By far my favourite coffee shop in town! Their staff is amazing and I just love the coffee.
There's nothing not to love about BC. Excellent staff, excellent coffee and treats and one of the most iconic spots in Canada. Great spot for a meeting too.
It is small but very inviting. It has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. A great spot to grab a lunch to take on a hike up signal hill. I went last week and really enjoyed it.

Came for a scone and a coffee, stayed for two hours and decided to stick around for lunch. Great food, great coffee and great staff.
One of our very favourite places to have a wonderful coffee after sight seeing the downtown area. We stayed in St. John's for five days durning our vacation to Newfoundland. Durning those five days we at least had coffee there twice a day. Wonderful atmosphere , location and yummy treats. Will definitely go back the next time we vacation that area of Newfoundland. Prices were reasonable as well :)
Stopped in this morning after hiking Signal Hill with my daughter. I had Americano coffee and a strawberry and cream muffin, she had freshly squeezed lemonade and banana bread. Everything was delicious! Also great decor and atmosphere!
Delicious lattes and they have Gracie Joe's brownies which are amazing!
Friendly staff, great coffee, tasty baked goods, and cool vibes.
Great food, great coffee and great staff!!! Love Charlotte!! :)
Cutest spot in town :) Love the veggie options and the decor!
The latte is excellent and i loved the atmosphere so much i went twice in one day!! I'll be back :)
Best Flat White in town!! I've been there every day since my first visit.
Having just come down the Nort Head Trail, a blessed relief
We dropped in late Sunday afternoon after a stroll and found it to be a lovely, relaxing café... wonderful, efficient service ....very clean and cozy...we will definitely be going back... Thanks
The Battery Cafe has the best flat whites in town!
Beautiful and peaceful cafe with the right amount of light roast from Detour.
Great atmosphere and great coffee!! Charlotte aka Charlatte made it an experience to remember!
I like the convenience of this cafe, which is within walking distance to the entrance of the North Head Trail, which is an awesome trail that takes you around the cliff and up to Signal Hill. The cafe seems to be always busy, probably due to its location. It was quite busy on both times when I dropped by. Food and drinks are served reasonably fast. I enjoyed the capuchino, rhubarb lemonade and sandwich/soup combos on both of my visits.
We were out bicycling around St.Johns today, and stopped in the cafe for a drink and something to eat. We had tea , coffee, and squares(date & brownies) . They were great. This is a great location located next to Battery Road. We sat outside on the patio and talk with some of the other happy patrons!
I visited The Battery Cafe because their website said they always have gluten free options (just ask!) and I am gluten intolorant. I had a delicious chicken and pesto sandwich on gluten free bread as well as a tasty latte. Ate outside on the patio with a beautiful view of the Harbour. Would go back for sure!
I had a delicious Lavender Americano Misto on recommendation by one of the lovely staff members. It went well with my Partridge Berry White Chocolate Scone. This will definitely be a go to place when I visit St John's!
You know how there's those coffee shops that have that perfect vibe - that "it" factor? This is it. You can sit inside or outside at this quaint location and even order and get your items from a small window on the exterior. No coming in and out! The coffee here is amazing - my favorite so far in St. John's. Their pastries are local and exceptional. Location: hard to beat. A stones throw from Signal Hill, close to the harbour and the rest of downtown. Really hard to beat this!!
We stopped in after touring Signal Hill. A band was warming up in the back room the windows were open with views of Jellybean row houses and the staff were super friendly. Great coffee, good snacks, well stocked coolers. Visit the park across the street.
Had a vanilla latte with oat-milk and it was delicious! Also had a sourdough grilled-cheese which was a tad expensive given the size but was tasty as well. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a tasty, quick option!
