Cosy, Good Food, Cheap Prices!. Eaten here a few times.. always come out full and happy, like the name suggests its a small mom and pop style diner.. always full of customers, nice friendly vibe.. Lots of food for the money, great all day breakfast too! Though not open for dinner hours, just breakfast and lunch I believe.
A small diner with fresh cut fries.. Second review today. I've heard so many mixed reviews from people on this little diner I am surprised I hadn't been there yet.
There is not a lot of room and we went during a busy time I guess. I couldn't hear myself think. It quietened down as my meal went on. My mother always looks for the lowest prices and that's her criteria for picking a restaurant. :) So she brought me here informing me that I ahven't tasted anything like it.
It was typical diner food but the menu had some interesting items. Gyros and meatloaf and steak subs... Sounded good. I ordered the Gyro with homefries and a Greek salad. My wife ordered the same except with french fries. My mom got the meatloaf.
The Greek salad was quite nice. (Could have used some black olives) and the homefries were good. The gyro was... well... a bit below average. The meat was very well done around the edges and there wasn't a lot of flavour to it. I did have a chance to try some of my wife's fries. I love fresh cut fries. They were pretty average. But it was nice to see someone putting some effort into them instead of the frozen junk offered up by so many places now.
The meatloaf looked good. I regret to say I had not had a chance to taste it.
All in all? It's a diner. Go have breakfast... a quick lunch. but if you really want a good gyro... go somewhere else.
My mother has also just informed me that the schnitzel is amazing. I will be back to tackle that one another time.
