This is undoubtedly the new No. 1 spot in Niagara. It's the type of restaurant St. Catharines has been missing. Eclectic and inventive food menu, great local craft beer selection (Niagara favourites as well as other solid beers from across Ontario, including 500ML bottle options from Fairweather in Hamilton) solid wine list, custom cocktails and very importantly, it's not boring! The atmosphere is great – loud hip hop music, chalkboard menu, copper bar...finally, a place for young people. My favourite dish so far is the Nashville fried chicken sandwich on the lunch menu - possibly the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Also offers great culinary dishes you'd previously have to go to Toronto to get – beef tartare, duck rillette, fois gras etc. Nice spot for a date or a casual meal with friends. Go here!
I hesitate to write this post because I'm afraid people will "flock" to this gem of a place. It's very tiny, with few tables, so you may have to have a craft cocktail or two made by Stuart the friendly bartender while you wait. Believe me it is worth the wait for a table, or if you're lucky a seat at the high bar and you can watch the chefs in action. The food is listed on a chalkboard so everything is unique and the menu changes often. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the deep fried avocado topped with salmon tartar. I will return here every time I'm in St. Catharine's.
Just returned from San Diego and was looking for a place to go and ended up here. The place was so good we thought we were back in San Diego enjoying an excellent meal and craft beer. Atmosphere is great, amazing food, service, and craft beer! Found a new favourite stout from Ottawa. Can’t say enough. Well done! Our new favourite!!
The food was utterly delicious!!! I highly recommend the hangar steak!!! Awesome server - Sara!!! Reasonable prices... the music wasn’t totally my cup of tea but it wasn’t over the top & loud that you couldn’t hear each other across the table!!! Definitely will be back!!!
OddBird is simply the place to be!
I went in with my wife and a couple friends and enjoyed some fantastic food and drink. Inventive chalkboard menu with legendary fried chicken, and the best cocktails you can find in Niagara!
I've been three times in a week, and the deep-fried foie gras will keep me coming back for more.
Do yourself a favour and go already before you're too out of the loop!

OddBird is the Morgan Freeman in a world of Gilbert Gottfried. Food is great, I can actually get something other than a buffalo chicken wrap. The atmosphere is fantastic and good music is being played, I am 29 so take that as you will. It is small but to me that adds to the pleasantry, you aren't sitting in a cafeteria size room. Servers were knowledgeable about the food and beverages, they go on brewery tours as a group! Thanks for opening up.
I'll break it down. Came twice so far - sat at the bar once and watched them prep food at lunch. And once for dinner where we had a table by the window.
Food is a 5*- menu has something for everyone and is delicious
Ambiance is a 5*- (I wish it was bigger but that's only because of how successful they already are and so it's jammed!) nice work!
Drink selection-4* (need more variety and local wines, and staff need to learn their wines because the recommendation wasn't quite correct on what they were explaining)
Music-5* and yes louder. It's a young hip place that's not meant to have elevator music in the background. An occasional swear word is thrown out and anyone unhappy with that needs to realize what friggen year were in. And that a Kelsey's isn't too far away. And stop complaining for once and embrace something different! Or..... open your own restaurant. :) running a business is hard enough with small minded though less opinions being thrown around. Give the owners a break and be positive. It doesn't have to be for you, but they did no wrong being them.
This is an experience! It's for all of those who find the same old around here is stale and shit food. If you want a good meal that leaves you feeling great, with a good time this is your place. Can't wait to go back.
Oysters are dynamite Ps.
The food was excellent - really really excellent! The menu was varied (with veggie options), and the staff were friendly and helpful.
This is definitely a new favourite place to go for date night.
The place is tiny and it fills up quickly, so get there early (or make a reservation - I don't know if they take them)
The only negative I can think of was that the music was way too loud to make quiet conversation possible.
Oddbird is truly next level. With an incredible vibe, great music, drinks and superb food you will not be disappointed. There's a good chance you'll have to wait to be seated but trust me, it's worth it! Oddbird is drawing quite the crowd on St. Paul!
This is what I want to see more of. This is a creative team making stellar food, with cool local wine and beer and great cocktails. I ask them to surprise me with a dish and I am always blown away. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic place! Great atmosphere, great staff and great food!
Definitely a place to check out!
Fantastic place for St Catharines! We were pleasantly surprised to find this place. Food was amazing and service was good.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Great Manhattan and delicious chicken sandwich. Had a great time and the staff are so friendly and attentive.
This place is THE BEST! Service was great-very attentive and friendly! The patios were quite nice-I liked the one set back from the street, off the side of the restaurant. The food was excellent and creative. The crisply kale on top of the beets (pictured) was the best preparation of kale I have ever tasted in my life! The scallops were cooked perfectly. Great drinks-beer selection was good, ditto wine and cocktails. Sad I am not a local, but probably best for my pocketbook as I would want to visit frequently!
Nice little Bistro. Food and service was excellent. Place is small, they have two patios. They don't take reservations. But the wait isn't long. Their Duck prosciutto was amazing. My wife had their Burger and she said it was the best she's ever tasted. Definitely we'll be coming back.
the food was delicious. the waitress was very unfriendly but the food compensates for the service, I suppose. 8/10. As far as prices, it goes perfectly with the quality of the food: 10/10!
The outdoors seating isn’t comfortable (looks and feels like park picnic tables) but as I said, the taste of the food compensates for these little factors.
You have to visit this place! It’s truly authentic and delicious!
Fancy food with the starters being the centre of attention of gastro pub delights, ranging from fried chicken or blistered shoshito peppers all the way to the more adventurous fried sweetbreads or bone marrow. For the entree you can choose from pub staples such as the classic beef burger, a fried chicken sandwich, or the 36oz steak. All top quality fare with variety through the door.
Our experience was beyond incredible. Sitting at the bar was an experience in itself, watching the orchestra of talent prepare and present our various courses. Our server was phenomenal as well, seeming to read our minds.
You can’t just try one item, you must try many and none will disappoint. Our new favourite place to eat in St Catharine’s.
A culinary adventure is in store any time you visit Oddbird. I love the chalkboard menu and new additions they add as it makes for a different experience each time you go. My staple here is the fried chicken though, easily some of the best fried chicken in town. If you have a taste for exotic food their blackened octopus is also amazing. Definitely a top destination for dinner in St Catharines.
A delightful experience at odd bird restaurant we tried several dishes from the menu. It was well worth the price. The presentation and the quality of food was everything i expected. I love the complexity of flavors i was getting my absolute favorite is definitely the iberico pork chop 👍👍👍 fantastic job guys. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu that's always a plus! Bravo 🎊👌
Recently visited oddBird for the third time. Each experience has been consistent and top-notch. They have a skilled mixologist who gets really creative with their drink menu. We've find this to be one aspect that really sets oddBird apart. The second distinguishing factor is the food menu which I'd describe many items as tapas. It gives you the option of tasting more items and really digging into the fabulous menu. The final consideration I'd give is the great service and ambience - it has a youthful vibe that attracts a diverse customer base. oddBird is truly a St Catharines gem. Keep up the stellar job! Including a few photos we took - neglected to take a shot of some menu items we tasted but I would highly recommend the escargot. Delicious!
