I had the Pork Duo as my main course. This was the best pork meal I have ever had - extremely flavourful and so moist.
For dessert I had the cheese plate that's on the menu as an appetizer. There's typically one cheese in a cheese board I don't like. Not in this case as all were delicious, with lovely accompaniments.
I highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly be returning.
Food was excellent. Drinks were good. The steak and the lamb could not have been better. Oysters were fresh, and the cheese plate was an excellent starter. Very accommodating and friendly. And very reasonably priced.
The only knock I can give this place is the atmosphere could use a little pizzazz. While cozy, it lacked character

Found this restaurant after it showed up on my FB feed and so glad I went to their website. We live about 35 min from Southampton, so supporting local is important to us. This is truly one of the best meals and dining experiences we have ever had! There are a number of menu options, and everything we had was not only delicious but beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I do suggest you book ahead for reservations as it is clear this is a popular destination for a meal out. Thank you to the staff ( and particularly their very amazing chef) for a lovely first dine-in experience in over 2 years! We plan on making Room 797 our destination whenever we need a night out.
Great place good food steak was great the vegan Root Salad was good and the creme brulee was delicious and prices are good to. I will definitely be back again

Enjoyed first eat-in meal in a long long time. So nice to be back.
Very pleasant small venue with enticing menu and very reasonable prices. I had the duck breast with white cheddar gratini potatoes, green beans and spaghetti squash all with a brandy jus. Clever combination of complementary and tasty items! Presentation was lovely.
My partner had a steak that was *perfectly* done to a medium rare with frites on the side. We shared a mocha creme brule for desert. Satisfying and delicious without feeling too full.
Everything about this place suggests a well thought out strategy of scale. The restaurant is small enough to be intimate but not cramped. The wine list isn't so long to be confusing, but contains enough choices to match the menu well. Spirits & cocktails not exhaustive but again adequate - e.g. several Scotches from Highlands to Islay to Speysides plus a few Irish whiskeys. Appetizers and entree menu varied but still fits on one page. These folks aren't trying to do everything, but handily manage to do just the right things for an excellent and satisfying experience.
Last, the staff are so very pleasant and friendly and just seem to enjoy their guests. We felt welcome and appreciated. Highly recommended!
Visited for Valentine's Day with my better half, the food was well prepared and presented, we had a small hiccup with the reservation but staff quickly resolved the issue, set us a table and brought us complementary glasses of champagne and apologized for the mix-up. The venue was clean and quiet, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the dark chocolate Crème brûlée was delicious. If I had one recommendation it would be to broaden the scotch selection to include more Islay malts.
