Great pizza! Fresh and flavourful ingredients! Service was good too! When we popped in, we didn't realize until after we already ordered that they were closing soon, and they were super patient with us. Love their Mozzballs and their Caesar salad too!
It is when one makes mistakes that they are truly tested. Part of my pizza burned, so I went back in... I thought I was in for a fight instead they immediately apologized, they remade my pizza, gave me $10 off my next one. I watched the manager fix the procedure politely with his staff then he showed me my pizza to me to make sure I was happy and apologized for the delay (them remaking it). I was more than happy it was great and I will be back soon.
It's hard to beat this pizza place; the food tastes just like the pizzas we had in Italy and that's because they are cooked in authentic Italian fire ovens and they use authentic ingredients like imported tomatoes from Campania and Canadian Fior-di-latte mozzarella. This is a family favorite for us when we do go out for pizza. On our last dinner there, my youngest opted to create his own pizza to match his spicy tastes; my eldest had the Capriccioso (a favorite for my carnivorous son); hubby and I shared a Dom Andreas (with creme fraiche, Fior-di-latte, roasted chicken, corn and Chipotle salsa and avocado, with a side of Valentina hot sauce) and the unique Cavoletti (with oven roasted brussel sprouts, prosciutto crisps, dates, walnuts, gorgonzola and honey). Plus we parents enjoyed the Monday drink special: Mela Margarita Cocktail. We sat outside on the patio and found the service friendly as always, although we thought it took a bit longer than usual to get our pizzas this time.
Was here a few nights ago with my younger sister and best friend for a girls night out we had Italian sodas to drink which are very delicious and the service was it incredibly friendly we had an amazing waitress who was super social and very kind. We did have to wait for a table for about 10 minutes however that went by very fast. The prices were moderate. The food was absolutely amazing definitely recommend the ceaprse salad and the Mediterranean flatbread comes with hummus for dipping overall it was a great night and will definitely be back
Certainly a different pizza experience. I've never really liked their "unique" approach to service/self-service. In my experience here, the pizza has never disappointed. I've only ever tried one appitizer (provolone meatballs I believe...or something to that effect), and it was pretty good, but a little pricey. That being said...I don't come to such a pizza place to really eat anything but...well...pizza!
I have consistantly found that this style of pizza does not lend itself to being taken home and eaten later. Rumor has it that reheating it in a oven will do it justice...but I have never attempted.
Skip the fluff. Stick to what these folks do best, and either tackle a pie well you are there...or share one with a friend!
Edit....
approach has changed. Staff take your order instead of up at the counter now. Staff are friendly and quick to serve. Attentive staff all evening while on the patio. Great appetizer tonight of boccochino for the table. Warm and tasty melted cheese. Pizzas for the table is crisp on the bottom and perfect on top. Great friendly service continued throughout our meal.
Thanks for the great evening Famoso and 👍🏻with the fabulous improvement in your service !
Different approach to restaurant dinning. Not really liking the go up and order my meal approach. Pizzas for the gang took 15 minutes to come to a table with only five other tables in the joint. Kind of ridiculous when they claim it's cooked in 90 seconds. Slow service continued with the drinks, refills and clearing the table. Choose another location. Like any other one in the city!
Last night was my first time at Famoso's, and wow was I impressed! I love how relaxed the atmosphere is and how friendly the employees are. The Margahrita pizza was superb! It took no time at all go get our food and drinks. The Nutella Calzone with bananas and whip cream was to DIE for! Yum yum! Definitely will be eating there again soon!
Eat here. I ordered the duck pizza with chili the spice worked well with the savory duck and creamy cheese, it paired nicely with the Parker Station red vino. Next I had a Affogato, then choc-hazlenut panna cotta and coffee and grand marnier. The meal was delicious I will be going there many more times. The only criticism I found was the crust was a bit tasteless without the toppings, but that's hard not to do.
Have been to Famoso a few times (Sherwood and Whyte), but this is the first time I've ventured outside my 'Turn any salad into a pizza' selection. Went with the Spicy Thai and it was delicious-- if you love fresh vegetables and spice on your pizza this choice is for you. With a scope of Nutella gelato on the side my bill was $22. Great joint.
Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria is the closest to place to Italy you can get without leaving the City/Country. The menu is printed in Italian (Ingredient in English) it's just a great place for a
Authentic Italian Food!.
I've been to almost all the Famoso's in Edmonton and have received awesome service and food, but the other night I tried the Sherwood Park location, and what can I say... It was spectacular. Not only was the food amazing, but the "baristas" were so kind and friendly. The owner of the restaurant went above and beyond to make sure we were receiving the best quality Famoso food and were constantly laughing and smiling. Famoso is an amazing restaurant chain, but if you're looking for the absolute best, the sherwood park location is the place to be! We will be returning very soon for another amazing dinner! Authentic Italian pizza at its finest.
I have eaten at Famoso Magrath and Sherwood park and I think Sherwood park is probably the best famoso I've been to, the food was delicious and the staff was very polite. I definitely reccomend this place for a nice sit down dinner with the family that you don't want to spend to much.
Not too sure what all the complaints are about. we have eaten at famoso south Edmonton half a dozen times and tried the one in the park today. The food was spot on, service was great. We have no complaints and will definitely be returning customers.
OK Pizza but nice casual vibe. Pizza toppings were good but crust was a bit soggy. I would not come back here with upper end expectations but I would return with the kids as the atmosphere was casual and fun.
Loved It. Just went for my first time tonight. You pick what you want from the menu, order it at the till, then receive full service afterwards. Service was quick, my starter casar salad was tasty and was followed by the Spicy Thai Chicken pizza. It had great flavor (maybe a few too many sprouts) and I could only eat half before I was full. My husband ordered the Siciiian, and loved it. Great atmosphere, decor, service and food. Would come again - this time making room for gelato! : )
Yummmmmm!. Great atmosphere, food & staff. This place is perfect for any outing, whether it's a casual dinner with family/friends or a date night to celebrate a special occasion. Start the meal off with the Motzza Balls (perfect for sharing!), the pizza's are excellent of course, & save room for a Gelato! So needless to say.....Go hungry!!!!
Absolutely try this place. I've ate at all 3 famosos are all great. Sherwood park is a new spot so service is a bit lacking/slow( to be expected in all fairness). If you want something a lot different than the usual suspects go here
