We came for brunch on a Sunday and were really impressed with this place. The coffee is fantastic! The portions are generous and the food was delicious. Our server was attentive, quick, and friendly.
Went here for the first time today, and the food was amazing! I didn't have traditional German food, except for the borscht that came with my friends meal, but the chocolate chip pancakes and bacon were good. The server was very nice, and food came fast.
Great tasting home-style food with sizable portions. They do really good breakfasts and the perogies have lots of filling. I haven't tried the desserts but my companion likes their crisp. The older decor makes it feel cozy and friendly plus the service is always quick without making me feel rushed.
Very good food, though the decor of the restaurant could use some update.
Had the salmon salad salad with toasted brown bread, summa borscht and finished off the perogies my kids had. Everything was excellent. The service was very good as well. Will definitely come back.
Taunte Maria's has great food and a relaxed atmosphere. The waitresses are on the ball with filling coffee and making sure you have what's needed. I've enjoyed the breakfast, perogies and even had a great lasagna as a lunch special.
Good...but could be better!. This used to be one of our favorite places to frequent but since the owner change, there seems to be some issues with some of the Mennonite things on the menu. Unfortunately the summa borscht was pretty terrible the last time my mom and I went, and the gravy for the vareniki was awful. This IS really unfortunate because it's a specialty restaurant for Mennonite food and should be ran by actual Mennonites... just my opinion! Some of the food is still great and for that reason, I might visit again!
Stopped in for lunch today. Had the grilled farmer sausage with choice of potato, veg and soup. I had the summa borscht. The soup had plenty of farmer sausage and potato. It was very good.
The grilled farmer sausage was excellent. Very lean and tasty.
Spouse had (cannot remember the name) farmer sausage on a bun. We both thought it was somewhat odd to use a burger bun and had lettuce and tomato. Also seemed odd. A hot dog/ sub bun would seem more appropriate.
The waitresses were very friendly. Returning a few times to ensure our waters were full and plates cleaned.
Good food, great service. Will return again.

Great European food. Just like grandma made it. Excellent sausage and perogies. Very nice and inviting atmosphere. If u like Eastern European food you will like it here!
Simple and Yummy. This is one of Saskatoon's hidden gems. If you want tasty Mennonite food, visit here. The decor is tacky but it's like walking into a grandmother's home.
The soups are good and homemade. The only negative is that it seems like they use high sodium broth starters which give a little bit of a 'fake' flavour. The final product would be amazing if real meat stock was used. The salad that the meal was simple and it came cold, crisp, and fresh. The perogies were tasty and fresh, but were swimming in a yellow margarine liquid. It is really nice to enjoy a good homemade perogie. The sausage was typical Mennonite sausage but was quite dry and borderline burnt. Even though I have criticized this place, I would definitely return.
