Definitely will be returning!
I had three sushi rolls—spicy tuna, SK Roll, and one with crispy eel—all of which was quite good and relatively affordable. I tried my partner’s ramen and thought it was too bland, but that’s more of a personal preference. The one thing I didn’t care for was how bright the lighting was, not the best ambiance.
October offers good, reasonably priced sushi, and tasty ramen bowls. The broth in the ramen is a little weaker than I prefer, but it’s certainly enjoyable, especially considering the reasonable price. Overall, the service has been great - they keep water glasses and tea topped up and are attentive about checking back on how the meal is being received. I always like being able to see where the fish is being prepared. I’m happy to have this restaurant in the South East corner of the city.
Wanting to try somewhere different for Sushi, we did a search and found this place close to us. It is kinda hidden in a more residential area however it is in a small strip mall. The restaurant is very clean and tidy and the food was some of the best Sushi I’ve had in Saskatoon. Also had a bowl of Don Don soup and it was also super delicious! Can’t wait to go back for more!
Sushi always tastes good and fresh. We usually get the Shoyu and Dan Dan ramen and they are always perfect. Tonkatsu ramen also very tasty. Service can be a bit slow when busy because they don't have many servers but the food definitely makes up for it.
Raman is the best in the city by far. Sushi is great. We have officially retired the AYCE disastrous sushi “restaurants” after coming here. The Dan Dan Raman is the perfect amount of heat and the red dragon rolls are to die for. Keep up the good work!
For my appetizers, I ordered the takoyaki and black dragon roll (it's like a dynamite roll topped with eel); and I had the tonkotsu ramen for the main course. I really didn't like the takoyaki here. The batter was mushy and undercooked while the pieces of octopus were hard and rubbery, which are really bad combos. The black dragon roll was very large (I'm not complaining...the bigger the better, am I right?!) and full of flavour. October is probably one of my favourite places to get black dragon rolls. The tonkotsu ramen was decent I suppose. I'm really not a fan of paying for overpriced instant noodles (but the tonkotsu is probably the best one there if you're into that sort of thing). The quality of the noodles reminds me of Mama noodles (if you haven't tried these noodles, buy some at superstore) but with the texture of Ichiban noodles. The broth for my ramen was good. It had a rich and creamy flavour (compared to their clear broths). The slices of pork in my ramen were probably my favourite part of the soup because it was savoury and seasoned perfectly! I've tried other appetizers (ex: the chicken karaage and the shrimp tempura) and rolls from October in the past and they were very tasty; so it's worth checking this place out.
Service ain’t nothing to rave about but the ramens are actually pretty good. Other appys and sushis are not bad either. Not sure what you’re expecting but I’ve had ramen straight from Japan and these guys aren’t bad at all. Of course it doesn’t compare to Ramen from Japan but for a place in Saskatoon, I think they do well. The price is very friendly, nice place to drop by every now and then. Oh, and the portion is good too.
The food and service is always consistently awesome! Will be returning and telling fall if my friends too as well. I would recommend this to everyone. Awesome ramen, awesome sushi, very reasonable prices!!
We had a wonderful experience, the takoyaki was delicious, as was the dan dan and shoyu ramen. Excellent service and great value. Will be back for sure.
