Stellar service + incredible artisan food + funky lively atmosphere = innovative dining concept Twig & Buoy. My three year old daughter and I dined at Twig & Buoy last night during a bustling summer Friday evening dinner rush. This dining experience far exceeded our expectations and was unparalleled to any recent meals at other notable Island locations. The caring kid friendly staff bent over backwards to check on my busy little gal. Our server Jessica, was attentive, happy and quick to help. ‘Twig & Buoy’ two highly skilled chefs, made the time to check in on our meals, connect and accommodate our gluten free needs. Clearly, intense skill, time and soul goes into preparing this gourmet food. We ordered a fig & onion gluten free pizza that was one of the best pizzas (let alone GF!) that we’ve ever tasted. Period. (we consider ourselves globe trotting pizza eating foodies.) Our lemon risotto with chicken was intricately crafted. Beautiful and seasonal local ingredients, textures and flavors. If you’re still reading this note, you must try the insanely decadent gluten free cacao torte. Death by chocolate!!! Well done Twig & Buoy~ you’re a gem of a chef-owner operator extraordinary dining experience. My taste buds are still buzzing!!! My spirited sprite was so comfortable and entertained she’s insisting we immediately come back.
Went for dinner with my sister here last night, and the food was so amazing! Probably the best meal I have had in a long time on salt spring Island! We ordered and split the Grilled Ceaser Salad, Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallions, The Best Of Everything Pizza, and Creme Brule for desert. Not a single complaint on any dish, it was all put together so perfectly, and the best Creme Brule I've ever eaten. They have some pretty amazing cocktails to offer there as well! Loved the atmosphere in there, and had a meal to remember. I will definitely be back for more soon!
This spot is exactly what you would picture if you were reading an island restaurant scene in a novel. The cozy, candlelit tables, complete with a water view, were made for a romantic evening. Having allergies and being gluten free, I had trouble choosing from the menu. Usually, I scan menus to see what I can eat and hope there’s something I can have – but this menu offered me a variety! On this visit, I had the grilled caesar salad, artichoke chicken and then shared both desserts with my partner. The flavours were fresh and inspired and the plating was artistic, without being fussy. I’m looking forward to returning.
