My gf and I moved to Saint John a few months back and had been meaning to try out the Saint John Ale House. We frequented the ale house in fredericton slot and thought they were connected. The waiter let us no that this was not the case.
We ordered the kettle chips to start and they were delicious! My gf ordered the chicken fingers and I ordered the organic bacon cheeseburger.
At first I thought the price point was a little high but said what the hell. The chicken fingers were amazing! Breading was fantastic and the chicken was juicy and and tasty. The burger was cooked exactly the way I had asked for it, medium, and the portion of fries as a side was larger than I had anticipated. After the first bite I was hooked. One of the better burgers I have had and one of, if not the best meals I have had since moving here.
We both were beyond happy with our orders and the waiter was helpful, friendly and polite. After the meal we both decided that price is no issue because of how amazing the meals we had were. And we both loved that most of the menu was from local suppliers.
Thanks ale house. We will be back again!

Excellent service, food and atmosphere. While there were no vegan options listed on their menu, my waiter was more than willing to speak with the chef to create a dish that I could enjoy. Would love to see a vegan dish added to the menu in the future.
