Read about this place on Tripadvisor and was in the neighborhood. We sampled the tourtiere Lac St-Jean (a large pie made of cubes of potato, beef , and pork), the ragout de boulettes (a savoury stew of meatballs and shredded chicken), and ketchup aux fruits (a kind of chutney made with tomatoes, celery, pears, peaches, onions and spices). We took all as take out and brought it back to our rented chalet on the lake. Full disclosure: my wife is from this area and I learned to make tourtiere from her parents. That being said, their tourtiere is as good as any I've ever tasted, and their ragout is just as good. If you're in the area and you get the chance, in terms of pure flavour and execution of traditional dishes, and in terms of value for the money there is no contest. Also, they are super nice people, not so sure they speak English but you'll figure it out.
Amazing tourtière (and blueberry pie)! Closed on Tuesdays (when we cycled through Saint-Félicien on the Véloroute), was worth coming back on Wednesday!
Definitely the best place to grab local cuisine meals. Everything is good.
