Hands-down awesome fish and chips. It's a little hole-in-the-wall slightly off the beaten path in Roberts Creek, but not hard to find if you're seeking it out. There's only one picnic table to sit at, but they damn well do great takeaway fish and chips. We had the cod and chips, and it was excellent. Go have a picnic at the park a couple roads over. Service wasn't bad, mediocre, but what do you want? You're there for greasy fishy-chippy. The food is worth every penny.
Sometimes cranky, sometimes happy. But man o man can the lady make fish and chips, or smoked salmon collars, or fresh cod and salmon to take home. Not just the best fish n chips ever but lots of it. And she's a treat as well. Just don't talk politics, ;)

Best fish and chips I've ever had! Far better than places in Steveston, White Rock or Vancouver. The cod and halibut were equally good. Fresh fish with just the right amount of batter and crunch!
Best fish and chips I have ever had. Crispy- they crackle heavily when you bite into them- but the fish is succulent and in such HUGE portions! Man. The yam fries are delicious. The shrimp is also very good. We ate our lunch just down the road on the beach. MUST TRY!!

Fish shack in the forest. It seems strange to have a fish 'n' chips restaurant way uphill from the water, set deep in the Sunshine Coast woods with almost nothing to indicate it's there as you drive by. (Although the fishista girl did point out "We ARE on Roberts Creek!") However, Sharkey's serves better fried seafood than I've had from places in more primo locations. And I'm not just saying that because I rode my bicycle way the hell and gone to get here.
I had an order of halibut and mixed yam fries/French fries. With a canned drink, it came to $17 -- not a cheap feed. But the fish was super-fresh and clean tasting. There were four pieces in my box, all of 'em irregular-sized cuts, which shows that someone in Sharkey's was chunking them off a larger hunk of halibut instead of defrosting mass-produced filets. The breading was light, just enough to cover the fish, adding texture but not getting in the way of the main element. The potato fries were crisp but with a little softness inside, which is good, and the seasoning-coated yam fries also came out well. They went great with the tiny tub of remoulade that Sharkey's throws in with its condiments.
As other reviewers have noted, there's not much of anywhere to sit here, so prepare to picnic. Sharkey's also sell fresh fish and pre-made seafood dishes that can be served at home. It must have great word of mouth on the Sunshine Coast, because both times I stopped by on sunny days in August, there was a steady stream of customers driving up. I'd rate this as one of those "hidden gems" that you'd like to stumble across in the back country, but almost never do.
Bar none the best fish and chips around, and at a very reasonable price. Once you find this place, you will always come back, even if you have to sit in your car to eat. (takeout only)

We were back on the Sunshine Coast and this was our first stop for lunch. Fast, friendly service.
There is one picnic table to sit at in the yard, but it was very COLD, so we ate in our car. We didn't even care. The food is SO GOOD! Hubby got halibut (full order) I got cod (full order) with chips on both, and we had over half of each to take back with us. It's a HUGE amount of food.

They also sell fish and chips. Amazing, fresh, crispy crust fish and yummy fries. Absolutely fabulous.
Take-out only. No place to sit and eat, but you won't mind at all!

This place is a true institution in sunshine Coast. Their halibut fish and chips is fantastic, so is the cod. You simply can't go wrong with sharkey's.
Make sure to place your order early morning for whenever you want to eat, as they tend to sell out during busier days like holidays.
Fish and chips specialists. Call in advance to place order and book time for pickup. They are very accurate and prepare the food as freshly as possible close to the time you gave for pickup. Not really sure if you can eat on the site, as there are some tables outside but no space for dining inside.
Make sure you get your order in early!!! Very busy place and currently accepting only phone in take out orders. Delicious and HUGE (below is the full halibut and chips). I don’t usually enjoy coleslaw but theirs is a vinaigrette dressing instead of a bunch of Mayo and it was really tasty.
Lovely spot for a picnic. Had very generous portions of fish and chips. Great batter. Great taste. Bought extra salmon sandwich for later - it was great.

Not sure why people give low ratings... ive been to many fish n chips in lowermainland, this is handsdown the best tasting, the portions are always great! And the price is very affordable compare to other competitors!!! I always get sharkys everytime i visit sunshinecoast
My Son's Birthday, he wanted Sharkey's Fish and Chips. My Birthday is a week later and I still want Sharkey's. If we have guest coming and want to impress them with cooking some good Fish, We pre-order our choice filets from Sharky's. We live in the Creek full time and this is our Fish Place on the Sunshine Coast. Worth checking out this great local "TAKE OUT".
Picnic tables on site to eat there but no real dine in.
