Love going into Hananoki Sushi. First thing I do is ask for green tea and a side of their home made authentic Kim Chi and then I order my main dish short ribs and their Red Dragon roll. Yummy! The owners and staff are super friendly 💖

Terrible place.. The sushi tastes spoiled. I literally throw all the sushi after one bite. But I still got stomachache!!! =( Hope I don't get sick because of this. Attached pic in food delivey app vs actual items.

(I don't usually give 1 star ratings) I had a friend recommend this place to me and we finally had the time to come with family this weekend. Apparently it had just undergone a renovation. We made reservations for four adults and two kids and they gave us a small 4 people booth. They looked surprised when we asked for a bigger table. I had time to look at the menu ahead of time and was excited to try this out as the menu seemed like a good deal. ...you should have seen my friend's face when she saw the new menu prices. Things were ridiculously pricey. A California roll was around $6. Each piece of sushi was over $5 (what????). We finally decided on a sashimi Bento ($18.55......not impressed with the price, but okay, I'm willing to pay if it's good). We asked what was in the box and she said (sashimi, chicken teriyaki rice, salad, fruit, California roll and tempura). I double-checked about the tempura because that's what my kid likes. Tempura and rice. We got free miso soup for everyone. Not sure if that's going to be a permanent thing or not. Lots of seaweed and tofu, but it was quite salty. The food comes. The combo is... disappointing. One small slice of orange for 'fruit', 3 pieces of California roll...and the salad was just sad. It was watery and barely had any dressing. Sashimi was okay...not great. One piece shrimp, two tuna, one salmon and one salmon belly. Meh. It was a pleasant surprise to get 5 pieces though, cause waitress specifically said 4 pieces of sashimi. But guess what? No tempura. I talk to the manager and they actually gave us a small order of tempura because they said there would be tempura (but I really had to repeat that I was told there was tempura and I double-checked. I wouldn't have ordered this Bento if there wasn't any...because kid eats tempura). So for those of you thinking of ordering bentos...there is NO tempura in the sashimi Bento. Tempura comes. Kid is happy. I start eating. Chicken looks a little pink but I figure it's because it's been in the freezer and it has that pink tint even when it's cooked. ...nope. A couple of pieces in and I realize it's raw. Not just pink. Not just undercooked. Raw. I freak out and look at my kid's plate and luckily he hasn't had the chicken meat yet...only the skin. I tell my husband and my friends and out of 4 Bento boxes, 2 are raw/undercooked. I wave to the manager and she notices my plate and before I can say anything, she says "oh the chicken. Don't worry, it's cooked" (clearly I'm not the first to bring this up), so I open up the piece and tell her "no. This is raw. Completely raw". She takes one look at the chicken and says, "oh". She offers to give us another serving and by this time, I've lost my appetite and feel sick to the stomach cause I ate raw chicken... (Should have stuck to my gut feeling when I first saw the pinkish chicken). They gave us 12% off the entire bill...which in my opinion, does not equate to the two chicken teriyaki rice that we were unable to eat. Also...service was subpar. Teapot was never filled until asked. And even not filled when asked sometimes. Not enough utensils on table and I had to take some from the next table. Waitresses just huddled around front door, avoiding customers. My friend is disappointed. We're disappointed. And I'm worried about salmonella. We won't be back again. I suspect they'll be losing a lot of their old customers. We saw two tables walk out after they saw the new menu. We should have done that too.

Order 40$ worth of food and asked for extra soy sauce. Only got 2 packets. 9$ for hokkigai sashimi with 4 half slices. What a rip

I been here 3 times now, the first 2 time i ordered vegan bento box, and both times it didn't disappoint me. The veggies were fresh and overall food were good. Today I tried their lunch special, the noodle combo, noodle California roll and katsu skewers. The noodle soup was light not too salty, perfect for s cold day, the 6 California roll was sufficient , and the 2 katsu skewers were delicious, very crunchy outside and don't feel oily, and the meat was tender and juicy. The price was about $10 something, so it was reasonable as you compare to go and eat Macdonald, which is not that healthy and expensive. It's been 3yrs since I came to the restaurant. I was too lazy to go my regular Japanese restaurant, so I enter and order again the vegan bento box. I've tried the vegan bento box from my favorite Japanese restaurant, but that restaurant's vegan bento box I was a bit disappointed. On the other hand, Hananoki's vegan bento box was very satisfying. Sorry, I was too hungry so forgot to take the picture. It contain avocado yam rolls, and vegan tambura, and agetashi tofu and some light salad, and a bowl of miso soup. The only not too good was the miso soup is a bit too salty for me, but normally I do not eat that salty. if you ever try their vegan bento box, I recommend it. It definitely satisfy my stomach, waaaay comfort my brain and my stomach compare to my regular Japanese restaurant.

It’s an ok Japanese restaurant, their Hana Chirashi don is slightly above average, the Takeya and Ichiro are better.
