Review Leisure Tea & Coffee - Richmond

W Sung
The customer service is always exceptional here. All of the staff are polite and friendly. The food quality hasn’t gone down after the pandemic which is rare to see in Richmond. The chick sandwich is a must as the chicken is juicy and tender and the dish is really filling. The dessert (drink?!) is also good, not so sweet. Will always come back to try more stuff!

It is basically unchange since I first came here gather with friend. After 25 yrs, everything is the same and food still excellent quality with very comfy environment. Best place for business talk and even dating

Lovely little shop - love that they keep the old style decor and teacups. Although expensive for tea, coffee and food, the ambiance the worth it. We had wild berry tea and chocolate milkshake. There are so many options on the menu as well. Good variety.

Cool cafe with British /Euro theme. Varieties of drinks are great. Dessert was tasty. It’s pricy. A bit too cold inside.

This place has nice atmosphere.and his place has fantastic food. But just didn’t like their services.

Large variety of tea, food, and dessert. Crispy chicken was delicious. I wish there was a caffe latte option. I was able to order black coffee with oat milk on the side.
Alan Welson
Love their vibe, fruit tea and Japanese light cheesecake. Gonna come back and find out more

Leisure is the oldest establishment serving Taiwanese deserts & snacks. Their fried chicken sandwich is flavourful and always fresh. They also make their puddings and taro toppings in house, so give it a try with their shaved ice or taro milk. Scones are really good too. 😋 The interior has not been updated since the 90s, I love how they kept the way as it is.

Fantastic and amazing coffee, shaved ice and other deserts. Also popcorn chicken!

A big group of us had a delicious dessert set with teas! Tom and the staff were lovely; they attended to all of our needs, and we had an amazing time!

Leisure Tea & Coffee is a cozy - intricately place to get authentic Taiwanese style tea and desserts, with some nice modern twists.

The ambiance is rustic and quaint - that will bring you nostalgic feel.

We ordered caramel pudding shaved ice with added grass jelly. We got a decent sized pudding with liquid caramel sauce drizzled over and sweet condensed milk on top of it.

The price was extremely reasonable for the portions.

Super cute cafe for those long catch-up chats or late night talks. It's one of the few that opens late until midnight (and 12:30am on Fridays/Saturdays). Once inside, it's a unique feeling because of the decor and different from typical BBT places - you'll know what I mean once you check it out! The decor is actually one of the reasons I like this place, bonus points!

I'm not Taiwanese, but to me, their snacks and desserts taste authentic. My favourite thing to get is the 'sweet soups' - you can get them hot or cold. It comes in a mug with a spoon and you can customize it by adding your favourite items, like bubble tea but much more variety! My favourites to add include taro chunks, tofu pudding, kidney beans, and taro and sweet potato balls - a very Taiwanese dessert!

The only downside about Leisure Tea is that if you want a full on meal, they don't really have that. The closest thing is probably sandwiches that they serve. But definitely one of my favourite places to stop by for snacks and chats.

Food: Got the fried chicken and it was an okay dish. Very typical salt and pepper dressing, not as crispy but may be just the style. Bubble tea is just like anywhere else really.

Ambience: Very cute decor!! Gives a very homie, cottage feel with the wood and everything.

Price!!: Affordable but the bubble tea in my opinion is a little overpriced but you do get the service. Food prices are average, nothing too worth your money but not a total rip off.

| Shaved Ice with Grass Jelly and Condensed Milk |
Not going to lie the price is pretty good the amount that you get. However, even though I am a person with a major sweet tooth, I still thought this was too sweet for me. The texture of the ice was very icy and not the fluffy kind but not too chunky to eat either. It would be nice if they didn't completely drown the shaved ice in sugar though...
-----------------------------------------------------
Tasty level: 6.5/10
Price: $
Will I go again: probably not

It’s been a while since Polly and I met up for cake meet due to her busy schedule. We found time to meet up and went to Leisure Tea & Coffee for a light lunch, more like a snack lunch. Leisure Tea & Coffee only opens at 12:00PM. Polly told me that this is a popular place for Taiwanese. Truely enough, a group of middle aged people came in for coffee at the later part of our meal and they spoke “Hokkien”/”Fujian”.

One of the better bubble tea/dessert place in richmond. Was introduced by a "local" and we always come for the salty chicken and shaved ice. The waffles were crisp with generous amount of topping to go along.

used to come here all the time with my aunt for some after school snack! great atmosphere and drink. Their fried food platter satisfies the cheat day snack. my favourite would have to be the hot ginger milk tea!

This place is overhyped to the max. Their food is gross, everything that was supposes to by crispy was stale ans everything that was supposed to be sweet was overly sweet. The service is alright, only thing that doesnt give them a 1.

I am obsessed with shaved ice. I’m forever on the look out for a good shaved ice, and if a restaurant offers it, I will invariably order it. Leisure Tea and Coffee is tucked away on Alexandra Road, but as one of the few dessert shops in the area, it always fills up fast. What I ate: Japanese Light Cheesecake ($5.25)
Jentaro
My favorite asian dessert place in Richmond. They have a variety of offerings that fits all tastes. My favorite is the shaved ice with pudding ~ it's heavenly. They also have a good selection of waffles. I like that they have a wide selection of drinks from cold to hot healthy selections with red dates.

Strawberry crepe - 5.75$, crepe w/strawberries, whipped cream and maple syrup.
It wasnt mindblowing or unique, but it was yummy and nicely done so I'd get it again. The strawberries were really good and the whipped cream was fresh. I'd give it a 4.3-4.5 by itself.

Just like it says on the tin, this is a really great place to relax. There aren't too many people crowded in, the food is served pretty quickly, and the decor creates a nice ambience. The workers just do their job and then keep to themselves which is nice too.

Came here for dessert after we ate at the korean restaurant across the street. This is how convenient Richmond gets sometimes, everything is somewhat within walking distance on the "chinese food" street on Alexandra road!

Such a cozy and comfortable place to catch up with friends and enjoy some yummy Taiwanese dessert and drinks. We shared the Mango shaved ice. The portion is so huge, it took three of us to finish it! Look at the generous amount of fresh mango. I liked the condensed milk they drizzled throughout the shaved ice and on top of the mango. The mango was super sweet and fresh!

Came in for takeout bubble tea to take back to the hotel because we were too lazy to eat outside of bed..

Not too bad! We got some fresh fruit juice and wintermelon juice. Highly suggest the wintermelon!! Very refreshing. Prices were also pretty fair, but a bit more than I'm used to in Calgary.

Busy restaurant, but the people here are not too fluent in English. I suggest bringing a Chinese person if you come here.

My friends and I were walking around Lansdowne Centre and we were searching for a place with desserts. We came across Leisure Tea & Coffee, which is a cafe that I have heard of before. We were reluctant to go inside as the outside of the cafe was really sketchy looking, however the inside of the cafe was kind of vintage styled decorated with old picture frames and items. This cafe serves coffee, tea, bubble tea, and dessert items such as shaved ice, crepes, and waffles.

Late night cash only dessert place :) they're most known for their caramel shaved ice and I don't doubt it because it's so yummy! It looks dry at first but once you mix it all up, it's the right amount of sweetness. Love this shaved ice because it's so unique and tasty!

Extremely Satisfied First Customer!. Leisure Tea & Coffee is a very visually appealing cafe. It is tastefully decorated with vintage tea cups, furniture, and artwork hanging on every wall. I was very surprised by the drink menu when I saw it; never have I seen a cafe offer such a wonderful selection of beverages! Even though they are known for their tea and coffee, don't be shy to order the other drinks on the menu. I ordered a honey milk tea with pearls and I loved it! I didn't expect much from the pearls but they were chewy and sweet. Wonderful job! I also ordered their cheese and corn crepe, which did not disappoint and was delicious. I'd love to come back in the future.

I went there for snack today. Their hot rose milk tea is bitter and the club sandwich ' s veggies are not fresh. Its hard to chat with friends there. Extremely noisy and worst services ever
Tip. I was enjoying myself until i paid. I gave my cash to the lady and she gives me my change while saying "remember tip is not included". It was such a turn off (I think it was mostly how she said it). I always leave a tip even when service is unacceptable and theirs wasn't even exceptional to be asking for some. I left her with .25 cents :D

Not good. This place is really busy at night, they have good bubble tea but bad customer service. They gave me the wrong drink one time and claimed that i ordered it wrong. Guess they're just too busy to change it. If you're looking for good bubble tea, they do have it here, but just don't expect to get good service.

Good. The service there was really good and the overall eating experience was also quite good. The prices are reasonable and the quality of their food is also decent. I wouldn't say there is anything extraordinary there, but at the same time, this is a good little place if you want a nice dessert or tea with your friends

One of our favorite places for snacks. Time to time I would ask my husband to take me here for snacks, when I felt like something sweet I would share an Ice cream waffle, I wish they have a smaller version of it as I after I eat it I am usually too full to have anything else :P

We really like their club salad sandwich as well, it's light and quite consistent, the bread is toasted and neatly cut into 4 triangles. As for drinks I like their Devil's ice coffee and they have quite an assortment of tea to choose from. We sometimes bring friends to visit as we like the ambiance -- it's cozy, but it gets busy certain time of the evenings.

Awesome bubble tea joint for older people who don't want to deal with gangster wannabes in Richmond. the decor puts them off I think. good snacks. decent drinks. good desserts like the shaved ice and ice cream waffle.

Thumbs up! Place looks like a fish n chips restaurant.. Which is weird, but the food was great. We were in a group of 5 and had a whole bunch of different sandwiches, drinks and desserts.. All of which were awesome. Come check it out

Awesome bubble tea. But the ambiance at atmosphere a little creepy. Thy have all these portraits an painting hanging all over the restaurant walls. I prefer take out!

This is a nice Taiwanese bubble tea shop you can go after dinner in Richmond. There are lots of small tables and a few big tables that can fit eight people at max. Although my favourite drink is Matcha Chillo from Blenz, I sometimes come here to have their milk tea with fresh taro. Their housemade fresh taro is soft, chewy and sweet that goes well with hot drinks.

Check out the video on youtube @macyeats! Leisure Tea & Coffee is a quaint little asian cafe that is decorated with the oddest framed pictures and ornaments. I guess it gives character. But if you look closely, they're quite creepy. After a short wait in the busy cafe, we were seated by about 11:30PM. This place closes at 1:30AM and the customers take full advantage of that. We ordered one mango shaved ice. Video on the blog :)

The surroundings and how their tables were set up reminded me of an old style cottage. In terms of menu, Leisure offer’s your typical Asian desserts such as bubble tea, shaved ice, waffles and sago. They also have more meal-like offerings such as sandwiches and various Taiwanese style snacks.

How could I pass up waffles topped with ice cream and chocolate syrup? This was $7 but so worth it! The ice cream they use is real ice cream (yes there is fake ice cream). I'm actually allergic to the modified milk ing

Leisure Tea seems to be a place where you can chat and hang out, while enjoying savoury and sweet items. It's not cheap, but I highly recommend their drinks. The deep fried snacks aren't really worth it, but the chicken waffle isn't bad, and the crepes look like they'd be delicious.

Leisure is probably the place I frequent the most in Richmond. It is like a cafe filled with pastries, sandwiches, and all kinds of Taiwanese treats.
The service was decent (average), the bubble tea was average as well but the chicken was delicious. Together the Chinese chicken and the bubble tea taste well together. It’s definitely a good place to go for late night eating and it has a homey comfortable feel to it.

Leisure‘s food and drinks are always great – especially their fresh taro drink, but last night we ordered food without drinks since we were all really quite full. Open until 1am, this tiny little store with wooden walls and random antique-ish pictures/art hanging from the walls gives a strange old-fashioned and homey feeling. Despite having strange decor and an outdated look to it, a lot of customers (young and old) come for the good food.
Lifeofyv
I really like the ambiance of the place. It gives off a nice antique/classical coffee shop feel. There were some really pretty teacups displayed in the waiting area, as well as some little trinkets here and there. The walls were covered with a lot of pictures in little frames, each consis

We ordered the Assorted Bean Milk Slushy ($6.25). If you’re unfamiliar with asian style desserts, don’t be alarmed, I can assure you this is how it’s supposed to look like. With red beans, green beans, black beans, tapioca pearls, raisins, and peanuts, it was like a dessert sampler platter of all the things you can get in a bubble tea.
BitterSweetLife Food
I ordered a Tofu with Red Bean (don't even remember the name xD), and it was decent. I guess it's good because it wasn't too sweet, so you can add more sugar to taste-- I added like 3 more teaspoons haha. Tofu was very smooth and red beans were nicely cooked.

I would say no but yes if you need a place to just sit down and talk. open late night everyday day of the week!
Constant Cravings
We all shared the Fresh Mango Icy which was shaved ice with mango and condensed milk. I love condensed milk and mango so this was the perfect combination and desserts are tastier with condensed milk!
Myyummycravings
Overall, this was a nice, relaxing and cozy place to have an afternoon chat with friends. However, I have to point out that the service isn't the best here, so if you're looking for a place with an exceptional service then this might be the place to go. I would come back to try out their other things or come have afternoon tea with friends but this would not be at the top of my list.
Every Day Is A Food Day
I was curious to see what a Crispy Chicken Sandwich was. So glad I got this because it was really delicious! They come in a plate of four triangular sandwiches in white bread. Each sandwich has three layers of bread, so it makes it quite large in size. With the crispy chicken inside, which is really their famous Taiwanese chicken, the sandwiches are too big to take a whole bite of. But I didn’t mind that. Inside was also tomatoes, cucumbers and mayo. I would definitely recommend this.

Leisure Tea & Coffee麗舍 is a little café situated on Alexandra Road in Central Richmond. With so many bubble tea shops come and gone, Leisure has been one to withstand the storm throughout the years. It has been in business for more than 10 years. This quaint teahouse brings you a nostalgic feel, something of an old English coffee shop prior to the arrival of mega chains.
Janileu
I have bubble tea with friends quite often. Our go-to is Leisure Tea and Coffee. Yeah, parking is a pain here, but it's a nice and relaxing place to sit in.

After eating massive amounts with FinanceGirl and SFUPretender, we decided we needed a break from all the food to have some tea. The first place in mind to just chill and have tea was Leisure Cafe on Alexandra Road.
My Secret Eden
This was not your typical modern and chic bubble tea type restaurant, this was more along the line of a quaint tea shop.

Situated on Alexandra Road just East of No.3 Road in Richmond, this bubble tea house knows what they're doing when it comes to Taiwanese chicken and ice slush plates. Ice slush plate is a Taiwanese dessert that consists of a big plate of shaved ice drowne
