Review Mazazu Crepe Canada - Richmond

Jenny Tao
Matcha and milky soft serves are very rich in flavour. They ran out of matcha ice cream when making mine so it took a long time for them to make it. So by the time I received my parfait, the milky ice cream at the bottom already started melting. They wouldn't re-make new a new one. Parfait gets a bit too much: it's good but the brownie and red bean makes it too rich for me to finish it all. Didn't try the crepe but I saw the crepe breaking when they were making it for others. I'd come back for the matcha or milky ice cream. It's rich in flavor.

Video review on youtube: vancity food crew aberdeen centre food court tour mazazu crepe . This place does crepes. I got the chocolate brownie strawberry soft serve crepe. There was only a few chunks of berry and it was mostly soft serve and whipped cream. The crepe is warm and melts the ice cream so it was messy to eat and not full of flavour. It was fine for a small dessert but I've had better crepes.

The top inch or so is empty of filling. A little bit is fine so that contents don't spill out, but I've had crepes more full though and that actually filled me up. I think you get less food/contents here, but then again it is cheaper than others. It's more of a snack.

I just tried the ice cream and it’s a really good one ice cream.

Delicious matcha soft serve in a cup! Good matcha, strong but not bitter. Also serves both sweet and savoury crepes

It's food court quality.

Just a short post. While perusing Aberdeen’s food court one day after dinner, I found myself craving something sweet and was drawn to the soft serve and crepes that a lot of people seemed to be getting. I decided to go to Mazazu Crepe and give their offering for a 3.50 soft serve treat a go. I ordered a mixed milk and matcha ice cream. It wasn’t excessively sweet or anything, but I was hoping there’d be a tad more matcha bitterness to it. The soft serve is very creamy and smooth, though I found the corn flakes at the bottom to be a bit strange. I understand they want it to contrast the texture, but the saltiness of it put me off a bit…just a personal preference/qualm.

Mazazu Crepe is one of the vendors at the Aberdeen Food Court.

In our opinion, the green tea parfait gets a bit too much: it is good but the brownie and red bean makes it too rich for us to finish it all.

Ordered the tuna salad and egg crepe. Nothing special about the taste. It was not bad, but just pretty normal. Tastes like an ordinary tuna salad sandwich. However, if you are looking for something light and healthier than the rest of the fast food, this is not a bad choice.

I love the different texture that you get from this crepe from the creaminess of the icecream to the chewiness of the mochi. It was super super good and I recommend trying out the strawberry cheesecake crepe too if you come and try out this place!! :)

A quick review on Instagram of Mazazu Crepe posts shows that their soft-serve items are very popular. Most notably was their soft-serve parfaits which had a mouthwatering presentation. I ordered the matcha and strawberry parfaits ($6.50 each) to try.

We were shopping at Aberdeen and wanted some dessert, so we stopped by Mazazu to grab a crepe. We ordered the chocolate banana and fresh cream crepe. Their crepes are decent sized, but they do not put much filling it them. Most crepe places use an entire banana, but Mazuzu only used half a banana. Plus their ice cream is the fake cream. We wouldn't order their crepes again.

Food is fair but overpriced. The crepe taste rubbery, it is very hard to digest. The cashier lady does not have any knowledge of customer services. She was tempered, I would say if you are not in a good mood, please don't express any unhappiness to your customers.

The first thing you will notice about this place is the brightly lit crepe display. It shows the variety of selections they have. I got the strawberry cheese cake one and well... It was alright. I mean there's no wow factor about it really. Tastes good looks cool, but there was something lacking. I took a few bites then gave it to my friend.
Choco banana fresh cream mini crepe from Mazazu Crepe: I’ve never seen a cuter crepe in my life! It was so tiny and dainty! THere REALLY could of been more than one slice of banana on there though...

Aberdeen centre’s food court snakes around and allows over 20 different stands to have their own dedicated space. Lots of effort was put into decorating each stall. Each had its name in bold, a menu with photos, and some even a display of items served utilizing accurately portrayed plastic food. Not surprisingly, most of the writing used was Chinese characters, but the coloured photos and the glossy fake food helped to bridge the language gap. I will be covering all 20 of the foodcourt dining options across several posts.

I haven't tried the crepes here, but the mixed matcha and milk soft serve was quite tasty. The texture of the soft serve was quite nice and smooth, but as a fan of authentic matcha flavour, I thought the matcha portion could have been a little stronger in presentation. Overall, a nice treat to end with after having some yummy food in the Aberdeen food court.

I didn't order the crepes but I ordered the matcha/milk soft serve twist and loved it! So pretty to look at & tasty as well! This place is cash only!!

Absolutely terrible service ! servers that took orders are SO slow & peculiar about the amount of ingredients they put in the crepe. They literally count the pieces of fruits and mochi balls and then carefully, might I mention, in an extremely slow manner, place the decorative ingredient ontop of the crepes. I would only recommend the matcha twist cones here because it's cheap and has a slight matcha taste to it. But be warned... You will have to wait 15+ minutes for a single twist come even when there is only one person in front of you !

Ice cream crepe bliss. My girlfriend and I are recurrent customers; we go there and get fat together. Best crepes I've had, so far.

The plastic display caught me. Is there any culture in the world that makes plastic models of food better than the Japanese? From what I've seen at the front of restaurants all over the place, it's an art form with them, not just commercialism. The colours and shapes of the simulated crepes in the plastic display case of this Mazazu caught my eye when I was scoping out the Aberdeen mall food court. All those gaudy triangles made me think of dessert pizza.

Mazazu's crepes are more like mutant, crust-driven ice cream cones than dessert pizza, though. The chocolate-banana-almond one I had was tasty enough to please a first-timer like me. It was heavy on the bananas, lots of whipped cream, decent amount of chocolate syrup, not many almond flakes, though. Mazazu makes them well, encased in their easy-to-slip-off paper holder. No drips for Bukko! Perhaps if I had ordered one with ice cream it would have been worse, but I had just drunk a slushee, so I didn't want to overdo the frosty calories.

I read the other reviews, and all I can say is that the two girls behind the counter made my crepe fresh, the flavour/heat of it was OK, and it took less than 10 minutes to get it to me. It was a slow time for Mazazu, about 5 p.m. on a Saturday, and I was the only one there ordering, so I caught them at a good time for customer service.

Mazazu has always been my go-to crepe store. I had really enjoyed their freshly made crepes and their friendly service. They used to have a full Japanese staff but I can see they only have 1-2 now. I'm quite disappointed that the staffing has changed and lessen throughout the years but their crepes are still good. I waited 10 minutes for my crepe, the Sausage and Tuna and there was only 1 person working. I must say that it was a lot more efficient back when they had more staff working.

I have always wanted to try mazazu crepe but I was held back after seeing negative reviews. However, since I was at aberdeen I thought might as well! I ordered the #40 Caramel Strawberry Cheesecake Ice cream for about $5 and waited for about 4 minutes, for the crepe that I got I'd say it was worth it!! The crepe was the right texture, not too soft not too cripsy, and the ice cream was huge!! On top of that, there were about 4-5 big pieces of strawberries with a slice of creamy cheesecake. I'd have to say that mazazu has definitely stepped up its game. Customer service was pretty good too, I will come back next time for more!!!

Not good! Do not bother with this place and waste your money here. Bad service and poor quality. The crepes were cold, rubbery, too much cream, and hardly any fruit for a strawberry crepe! (Seriously, like 4 thin slices of strawberries and the rest ALL cream? C'mon!). Never again.
Stephanie
Recommended! They are really flexible and usually allows you to change the sauces on the crepes. I also asked for my crepe to be crispier and they had no problem making it. Service was good, all three girls said thank you when I was passed the crepe

I had a strawberry crepe with caramel sauce and the crepe itself had a bit too much cream but in general the crepe was yummy :)

Will come back here again!

Really bad service :(. The server who is responsible to take orders in the cashier is very bad-tempered and does not know what customer service is. I already tried to smile when I'm ordering; however, the server seemed very impatient and continued to chat with other servers after orders were made.

I ordered a Tuna Pizza Crepe. A lot of people already know the waiting time is a problem. Luckily, I waited for about 10-15mins that day, then they handed me the crepe. To be honest, this might not be the worst crepe I have had but it sure is one of the worse ones. The crepe tasted rubbery and tough! It was absolutely not what I was looking for, especially Mazazu Crepe is a Japanese company.

Mazazu Crepe used to have a long queue but no one seems willing to spend $10 and 15mins now for a crepe made by them.

The only thing I find here is their Matcha soft-serve. It is very rich in greentea flavour. Next time when you need some sugar/dessert, you can sure try it. (Plus you don't have to wait for that!)

Quality control. I think business has slowed down so they aren't always making fresh crepes. The one I got was cold, thick, and not soft at all. People were only interested in this when it was new like Beard Papa. Tough to compete with the locals' favourites.

Delicious. Really great crepes ranging from $3 - $5 approx and they're HUGE (compared to most crepe places). Plus the paper is super easy to remove which makes the eating experience so much better. Definitely recommend trying.. but make sure you have room in your tummy!

Overpriced rubbery tasteless crap. I got a 15% off grand opening coupon from Beard Papa' (in the same mall) so I figured I might as well try the place out since the pictures and plastic crepe models made the food look so good. their crepes range from $3 something to almost $5. The way it works is you order from one side and they give you a receipt with a number on it then you go around the corner to pick up your order.

The service is incredibility slow since they only have 1 crepe making pan and from what I've seen, each crepe takes 2-4 minutes to make. There were about 3 people before me in the queue waiting to order and at that time, the queue to pick up had about 5 people. I waited 40 minutes for mine from the time I paid!!! The lady before me only ordered a plain ice-cream for her son and she too, had to wait just as long for it!!

I watched them make my crepe and I was shocked at how stingy they are with their toppings! After they made a crepe, they past it to someone else to do the topping and the wrapping. I chose #14 (double strawberry custard), a Deluxe crepe. The custard that they squeezed out from a pastry bag was only 3" long. Same with the whipped cream that was squeezed next to it. They then very carefully and slowly placed 3 tiny chucks on strawberry on it. To finished it off, they topped it with strawberry sauce from a squeeze bottle.... again only about 3" long straight down. They tightly fold the entire crepe into a triangular tube before wrapping it in red paper. The size resembled a very small Taco Bell burrito with the fillings taken out. They didn't apologized for the long wait either.

Some of you might think it's the taste that matters. I'm sorry to say that the taste was the worse part of the whole experience. Even though the crepe was freshly made before my eyes, it was barely room temperature when I got it. The first few bites I took had nothing but the crepe. The texture was very rubbery. It tasted like a flat piece of rubbery dough. There were only 3 tiny chucks of strawberry in their entire crepe so needless to say, the crepe did not taste like strawberry. In fact, it didn't taste like much of anything since the toppings were so stingy. The 3 bites I got that had a piece of strawberry taste like sort of like strawberry but it was more the strawberry sauce than anything else. It was very artificial.

Simply put, the texture and taste was awful. I guess I should be thankful that the crepe is so small..................

I want my $ and my 40 min back!.

It’s called Mother’s crepe in Japanese. This franchise was later brought to Singapore with its name changed to Mazazu crepe, then being further expanded into Vancouver area. It looks very tempting every time when I passed by the Aberdeen food court, especially for people like me who always crave sweet crepes. This has reminded me of my favourite snack - 曼煎 kuih.

I LOVE GREEN TEA ICE CREAM and the one place i go to most often is mazazu crepe (well 2x is plenty). these two visits were only 1 month apart but the price, texture and flavour were all different! visit 1 ' green tea ice cream cone ($3.13): this was deliciously creamy and smooth ice cream but melted really really fast. doesn't matter it tasted so good... 5/5 green tea ice cream cone ($3.20): price increased by about 5 cents…and this time it was much stronger in match flavour but was also quite icy and not as creamy smooth but again IT WAS DELICIOUS… i honestly don't know which one i prefer cause they were both so good… 5/5 overall: consistency is an issue but my craving for SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM IN GREEN TEA MATCHA GOODNESS BEATS OUT EVERYTHING Posted by Priscilla Yip at 10:07

... best green tea soft serve ice cream I've ever had - not too sweet, strong matcha flavor w a slightly coarse texture that further reminds me of the matcha texture; cheesecake was decent too despite being sourced, creamy and soft, non-stale...

I paid a visit to the Mazazu Crepe, which serves Japanese style crepes. They offer savoury crepes such as the classic ham and egg or tuna. But today my sweet tooth was tingling and for $3.57 I chose the cinnamon with fresh crème. The crème went really well with the cinnamon and complimented each other. The crème was not overwhelming or heavy.

This place sells savoury and sweet crepes- so you could have either a meal or a snack/dessert. They also sell smoothies and soft serve ice cream. They had a large glass display on the types of crepes and what’s in it:

The crepe itself is not that amazing. It was not very "mochi-mochi" in texture and felt kind of soggy.

As I wandered about the food court, I found Mazazu Crepe. The company website claims healthy goodness, but I'm not sure. I did like the soft sponginess of the crepe they use, but what I ate didn't really stand out. They look good in plastic, which I captured a picture of, but when I bit into the rolled up piñata, I thought it was weak. I could hardly taste the crunch of their Banana Chocolate Almond crepe ($3.86). A lot of the flavour was packed at the bottom than all out, and even the bananas didn't taste all that good. They weren't ripe. And the other place which I used to ga-ga over is starting to go goo-goo. When I first visited Beard Papa's three years ago, they were only

The crepe was good...though it wasn't as delicate as Bon Crepe, but it was good. It has nice crisp edges that I like. The tuna could use some salt and pepper. I kept thinking back to Kimono Koi's addition of the seaweed flakes, it does make a difference.

Mazazu Crepes have a light sweetness, with a slight wheat-like taste. The texture of the crepe is soft and thin, which makes the crepe a little floppy. In comparison to other stores, the crepes are slightly cheaper, however they do lack flavor. I find tha
