Review Leung Kee - Richmond

Leon Hong
Was hungry this weekend while shopping with my fiancé. Had a Chinese food craving and this place satisfied it. Was this the best? Probably not but it was fast cheap and tasty enough. I recommend it! The stir fry beef and rice noodles were good. I asked for a side of soy sauce and chili oil to give it more of a kick. My fiancé ordered the fried rice and she liked it. Friendly service and the milk tea was delicious.

Not very good here, fried noodles were sopping wet and lacked flavour. Could have saved a few $ on a drink and just drank the water at the bottom of my meal. Couldn't force myself to finish this and I'm fairly forgiving. Really disappointed.

Authentic HK dishes served here. Aberdeen Centre has one of the best food courts in Canada when it comes to Cantonese food. FYI - CASH ONLY.

Many choices and quality food, for the noodle, a little be more salty would be perfect~

Leung Kee Cantonese Food 亮記中式美食😋👍 4151 Hazelbridge Way, Richmond, BC V6X 4J7 Aberdeen Centre If you are a foodie, I must recommend this cheap and delicious Leung Kee. If you have the opportunity, you must try it. It is from this restaurant that you like Shanghai Hong Kong-style fast food. There are long queues in front of the common stalls. I tried it once. I like the taste of Hong Kong-style fried noodles and risotto. I've tried dry fried Niuhe, Xingzhou fried rice, roast duck noodles, salt and pepper pork chop fried rice, and Caiyuan beef rice are all good. The shrimp wontons in wonton soup are good ingredients, but the soup is relatively unaccustomed. If you order food in summer, you can add some money to change the soup to a cold drink. Dinner with drinks is really a satisfying meal.

Better food than most sit down Chinese diner restaurants at a better price. Sometimes it can get pretty busy and there’s a longer wait for your order than might be tolerable. They don’t take credit or debit but take e-transfers to an email address.

Awesome authentic Cantonese food here for a good price. My go to at Aberdeen

First choice whenever I’m at Aberdeen food court because it is authentic HK dishes and consistent quality for me. Tastes like childhood!

Video review on youtube: vancity food crew leung kee cantonese food<br/>.<br/>I tried a dish from this place, the stir fried noodles with beef. It consists of beef, beansprouts, green onion and noodles. The portion is very large but the flavour is lacking. It needs cabbage or carrots for crunch and more flavour. I would go back to try other stuff, I hear their soya chicken or their fried rice is good.

I had soy chicken on rice. The chicken was extremely tender, there was enough chicken, mostly brown meat which I'm happy about – I would have left the white meat untouched. There was a bit of a wait for ordering and for the food as they had a long line up. The only complaint I have is the two tiny pieces of choy sum, I guess I have to order "add vegetables" next time. I will definitely eat here again.

○fast food/ service not applicable <br/>○decent food/ came here specifically for their stone pot but unfortunately it didn't come in a stone pot, quite disappointing, it's not the same/ yet had to wait long as if it's in a stone pot <br/>○average price for food court <br/>○would i go back? Maybe for other dishes <br/>

Wanting to have a quick dinner at Aberdeen. Ordered a soy sauce chicken with rice for under $10, you also get a free drink. <br/>I am pretty surprised by the quality of the chicken. It is still very soft and not too salty. For food court cuisine under $10, it is a good deal.
Constant Cravings
I haven’t been to the Aberdeen food court in a long time and it’s as busy as ever! I was craving some Chinese comfort food because it’s bulking season and I have my eyes set on carbs!. This time I hit up Leung Kee which offers great HK style food for a great price! They offer all the classic HK style cafe dishes that you can think of. The line here was almost as long as Bubble Waffle Cafe.

My family have been coming here for years and the food has been consistently solid. The price hasn’t gone up too much and the portions are still hella big. If you are most people, any dish could easily be share among two or saved for a second meal. . Stir fry thick cut noodle with beef. I’ve had better version of this dish but this still hits the sauce for me. Look at how many pieces of beef this thing has. For $8.50, it includes a drink or soup. I usually choose the house chinese soup and then head over to the other place at the Aberdeen food court for a milk tea or rubina with sprite. You just have to expect waiting a bit for your food especially during lunch and dinner hours. But, that does ensure the ingredients for your food is fresh!

I am leaving a review because I want to comment on the service. The cashier who was working tonight was very rude. She yelled at me constantly when I asked her questions and shouted 'ONLY CASH' when I tried to pay with debit (their sign was not visible). Her attitude was one of most unfriendly attitudes I have seen from service workers. There is a more polite way of treating customers, and the way that she dealt with a customer is unacceptable.

One of the more popular places at the Aberdeen Mall food court. Great place for a quick fix when you are hungry. Portions are decent for $8-$9. Add $1 for a cold drink. Rice dishes are the most popular here (spareribs on rice, chicken on rice, minced pork on rice). Made fresh to order. Usually have left overs to take home.

What I ate: Sautéed Green bean and beef in black bean sauce. <br/><br/>From: Leung kee Cantonese cuisine at #aberdeenfoodcourt <br/><br/>Price: $7.75<br/><br/>My take on it:<br/><br/>It's been a while since I last visited the food court, and this time I'm craving for a #healthier and #quickmeal. <br/><br/>That's when I saw the mean #greenbean and #beef menu snucked at the back menu without pictures with a #chinese character stuck beside it. I had no idea what it says... (but it probably says "comes with rice") Fast forward to my table, the smell of black bean and beef wafting from the opened #Styrofoam was indeed delish! <br/><br/>The green beans were as fresh as it can be. Trimmed at the end and cooked #al-dente. (that's perfectly cooked in Italian - literally translates as "to the tooth") The beef slices were soft (baking soda soft - #google this if you're not sure what it means) and has that amazing "#umami " #Wok flavour, which can only be achieved in cooking food on a really hot Wok. <br/><br/>A classic dish of vegetables, meat, and #fermented black beans sauce done right! I was surprised with the amount of beans and beef served, which was quite a bit. Thumbs up! <br/><br/>It was a satisfying healthy meal that doesn't feel heavy or fatty. Thank you Leung kee for another great meal! <br/>#chinesecuisine #foodie #goodeats #instafood #nomnomnom #yummy #cheap #streetfood #hawkerfood #soulfood #asiansoulfood #asianfood

Good price for a good amount of food but flavors and quality of ingredients are sorely lacking. <br/>Not exactly pleasant being served by the blank expressionless faces of the staff working at the time but it was close to the end of the work day on a Thursday evening. Not sure if it was the family that owns and runs it but a smile couldn't hurt could it? <br/>I had the BBQ duck in noodle soup. Did not like it. Noodles were bland and processed, didn't finish them. The pieces of duck that came on top were no where near what was pictured in the menu along the front of the kiosk. The pieces were fatty and chewy and barely had any meat on it. The leg I got was decent. There is always a random factor to the amount and quality of meats you get on top of noodle soups at Chinese food joints but I was not happy with my lot this evening. Did not satisfy me but did it's job to fill me up. I don't need much. Tried to have some of the wife's fried rice but it was also bland, dry, tasteless and barely had any shrimps or ham pieces in it. Can't say I'll be back with all the other choices around to try.<br/>Taste: 1 of 5<br/>Value: 3.5 of 5<br/>Service: 2 of 5<br/>Not very good...

a quick fix for cantonese food, well the lineup have been crazy long for lunch hours, and the food that my uncle ordered is the efu noodle, where it's deepfried and the sauce on top. definitely alright nothing special, but at the same time sometimes you'll just miss something that's regular and nothing out of the box. definitely alright place for a quick fix. although i must say the flavour is more underwhelming.

School started today. It feels so weird to be back after a 2 week hiatus! ...time to hit those books *sigh* .   Anyways, I went to Aberdeen the other day and *shocker* I didn't feel like going to Dinesty... so I just ate at the food court! I've been trying to save money lately :D.   I mean, why spend $30+ on lunch when you get can full for $7.50 at Leung Kee? (AM I TURNING INTO MY DAD?!) My dad frequents Cantonese food stalls because he works in Richmond, and he always says "Why do I need to spend more than $7.50 on lunch? You're the only person I know SELINA, who has to spend more than $10 on lunch!! $7.50 gets you a bien dang and a cup of milk tea, what more do you want?" <br/><br/>"But Dad, I never get full off of one bien dang!!"<br/><br/>"Don't be ridiculous, you don't eat that much!!"<br/><br/>"Actually, I do Dad."<br/><br/>  Leung Kee is one of the busiest food stalls in Aberdeen ~ they're famous for their humongous portion sizes and low prices! During lunch there's always a lineup! If you're looking for the most bang for your buck, Leung Kee is where it's at!!

The pork chop was well fried and didn’t get soggy even though it had a boatload of thick tomato sauce on top of it. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the rice as it was really wet, soggy, and moist making it really texturally unappealing.<br/><br/>Soy sauce chicken and Long Gong chicken: Chicken prepared this way is something that I don’t usually reach for because I find it quite tedious to eat…with it’s bones and all but it was sooo sooo yummy. All the cuts of meat was moist and juicy whether it was white or dark which was amazing to me because that rarely happens!<br/><br/>Sticky rice: I was excited to try this since it was from the same place as the amazing chicken but I was disappointed. It didn’t have much flavor to it and the rice was more on the “stiff” side and lacked the chewy, glutinous texture that’s integral for this type of sticky rice.

Aberdeen centre’s food court snakes around and allows over 20 different stands to have their own dedicated space. Lots of effort was put into decorating each stall. Each had its name in bold, a menu with photos, and some even a display of items served utilizing accurately portrayed plastic food. Not surprisingly, most of the writing used was Chinese characters, but the coloured photos and the glossy fake food helped to bridge the language gap. I will be covering all 20 of the foodcourt dining options across several posts.

January 18, 2017<br/>I saw their soya chicken look shinny/ juicy inside their display window. When i pay for half soya chicken, I was pointing to the chicken which is inside the display window. But it's end up.. took them 10 minutes to cut me a chicken from inside the kitchen with dried / rough/ a lot of chicken hair on/ few pieces without skin on/ few pieces with green onions on... I was so disappointed.. their chicken used tobe good whenever I buy soya chicken on noodles in soup. They used to be 2 chubby young girl with their mom work there. But they look like changed owner ... all the front end people are different with black face look.<br/><br/>November, 5, 2016<br/>I bought a bowl of hot pork chop on flat noodles in soup for my late lunch after work today. It's big portion for $6.20 included taxes. The pork chops are tasty and tender. It's come with hot almond milk, but it's tasteless<br/>

I come here pretty often when I work in the area. Super cheap hongkong style foods. Huge portions! And pretty fast service considering how busy they get.
Cafeeeli
It's a pretty okay noodle place. Price is not too expensive and has a lot of noodle and congee options. I like to drop by here for a cup of their lemon tea for $2. Big cup beverages. The one next door also have drink for similar price but is usually pretty busy since they sell snacks.
B Chu
I only come here for their excellent HK style Milk Tea. It's strong, but not bitter, smooth, thick and cheap! Only $1.50 for the hot and $1 more for the cold.

Leung Kee = Happy Me!!. This is my favourite food establishment at Aberdeen. The two dishes I order frequently are the curry beef brisket and rice and the stir fried beef flat noodles (huge portion and I drizzle it with Sriracha sauce!).
Sir Eat A Lot
Love this place! Small increase in price many months ago but still very affordable. I love the BBQ pork with rice noodle in soup. Very flavorful and I can't taste much MSG, if any. Great portions and nice ice milk tea as well as ice lemon tea. A good place to eat on a budget, and be full at the end!
CaptainNemo
Pretty okay food!. But veeeery big portions!
Kobe Bucks
Cheap price, fair amount of food. Their food is good, fair amount of food<br/>service is ok<br/>just dont order shrimps/fish related...<br/>has weird smell...

These look like regular pork chops right? They're actually coated with a delicious curry powder, which makes the pork chop incredibly fragrant. The meat is really juicy, with the perfect ratio of lean and fatty meat. The pork chops are all meat with no bone! The only bone is the one that's visible in the picture.

Leung Kee is one of the food vendors at Aberdeen Centre with the most traffic. In fact, they've even implemented a screen numbering system to keep up with their heavy flow of customers! They're popular for a reason: they make delicious, authentic Cantonese food, and give out huge portion sizes. Salt & Pepper Pork Chop on Rice 4/5 stars I didn't see this on the menu, but I read a few reviews about it on Urbanspoon and Yelp, so I decide to try it! You have the option to swap out the plain rice for fried rice for an additional $1.00. It came out to about $8.50 for the meal an iced lemon tea. I ended up waiting about 10 mins for my food. The portion size was huge and could definitely suffice for 2 people. There were about 5 pieces of pork chops. I ended up eating about 2 pieces and 1/4 quarters of the rice. Taste wise, it was pretty impressive for a food court! Definitely on par with some casual Cantonese restaurants. The pork chops were perfectly crispy and the interior was very moist. I

Leung Kee is a good place to go for cheap simple comfort food done well. But it tends to be one of the busier merchants in this food court, and everything is made-to-order so expect to wait about 10-15 minutes to get your food.<br/><br/>If I have to find something to complain about (and Leung Kee is far from being the only chinese merchant guilty of this), is the overuse of signage. It’s common for many chinese merchants to fill their windows with so much excess signage that you could spend an hour reading through all the “specials” of the day.<br/><br/>Leung Kee Cantonese Food 亮記 (Aberdeen Centre) on Urbanspoon

This was the specials board that for once was in English!!! YAY! That's already a pro for me. Weird price, no? The portion size of the pork chop is kind of disappointing - only 3 thin slices but I guess I get what I pay for. At least the pork is tasty - crispy, salty and a bit spicy but not enough spice in my opinion but that's just what I prefer. There's plenty of fried rice though and it tastes good and comes packed full of BBQ pork and shrimps. Not bad for under $10.00 people. Not bad at all.<br/>

During a recent vacation, we stopped by Aberdeen mall in Richmond, BC and we made a few stops.. not to shop, but to eat, drink and snack on a few tasty and inexpensive local favorites.

the actual curry itself was “okay” meaning that it wasn’t spectacular but wasn’t bad as well. Same goes for the beef brisket. Mainly, it was your regular HK style curry, but with a little more spice
FOOD FOR BUDDHA
Anyhow, Buddha Boy complained that the noodles were not as crispy as last time.

The food at Leung Kee would be the typical HK style cafe food. They have quite a few special on everyday for $6.50 and that include a cold drink. One special thing about this place worth mentioning is their call out numbering system, because once your ord
