Not a terrible place just not in love with the service. I ordered the cod bowl which is a piece of fish with salad and rice. The issue I had was it came with a “comically small” peice of fish. The only way to get a smaller piece of fish would have been to order a fish taco, though they still would have been a pretty similar size. I didnt complain because it was a visual issue, meaning the cook saw it and chose to cook it then gave it to the server who also saw it and decided to serve it anyway. It never should have made it to the table let alone been left to me to point it out. Unfortunately I dont give restaurants second chances so i wont he back to this location. The Social ice was great though!
In my two experiences, never have I tasted such great fusion cuisine. My previous impression of the eatery was that it was just another "white food" place. Yet, turns out that Browns Social cooks up a good Asian-American, or even Mexican-Canadian dish. Sometimes, their portions may be smaller than expected, however, I love their food - seasoning, cooking, everything - as well as their irreproachable service!
Your typical gastro pub food. We bought a groupon for this place for $12 we got $25 worth of stuff and chose to go the Sunday when they had specials on wings, pizza and drinks!
So we ordered the wings $6 (get about 13 wings)
pizza was $9 each (had the bbq chicken and the pesto shrimp)
ceasars were $4.50 so had 1
the pizza was very tasty, the dough had the right consistency..i would suggest the bbq chicken, not so much the shrimp pesto although they do put a lot of good size shrimp on the pizza.
Wine list is too expensive but there is good stuff from BC. Food is either too garlicky or to spicy. About the only two good items are General Pau chicken and the chocolate cake. Why do I come back? The bartenders are cute..
Impressive and expensive. I've been here 3 times already, twice with friends and once with the family. I find that the food is really tasty.
The first thing I had was the Dragon Bowl, which is almond rice, teriyaki chicken, vegetables, red cabbage and some sort of yogurt which was a little spicy so I didn't really eat it. I found the chicken moist and juicy. Of course teriyaki always works with chicken and this is no exception. The vegetables added a nice balance; the red cabbage was an interesting choice but I liked it because it added something unusual to the dish. Really quite filling.
On my next visit, I had the Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai. It was quite a huge serving (which was great, because I was starving). The peanuts and the vegetables add a nice crunch to the rice noodles. The shrimp was succulent and the chicken was tender. There was also a good amount of the rice noodle, which made me happy.
During my most recent visit, I ordered the fettuccine carbonara. I love love love this dish. Al dente pasta = happy Adrian. It could have used just a touch more sauce, but I'm still happy with the amount I got regardless. It was nice and creamy with just the right amount of cheese. The smoked bacon added so much flavour to the dish. The chicken was so moist and tender. The only minor issue I had was the slice of flatbread I got was over-peppered. But I didn't mind it because it was just that 1 piece.
During my first 2 visits, my table got the friendliest servers. They were knowledgeable and checked on us often. During my last visit, our server wasn't as warm to us. She was still nice but there was certainly a difference.
I also love the bathrooms here. Small but clean.
Would I go back? Of course. Just not on a regular basis as I find the prices a little too high for me. But I would definitely recommend going to this place for special occasions.
Hot Stuff. I salute Browns. Anyone who hasn't been is sure missing out. It is hard noticing the hot bodies babes that eat here because the waitresses are so goddamned gorgeooouus!
I left them my number and hope to hear back. I am not really available but who can resist?
Worth every penny with the great food and caring service.
Good appys and beer, sushi rolls were mediocre but rest were good. Very pleasant service.
Beat casual dining. Best place outside Cactus Club to find leggy waitresses. Was surprised at the quality. Will be back. Good quality of wines
Good atmosphere and service. Go on Sunday, they honor the daily (Monday to Saturday) drink specials.
The taco was not as flavourful as I would have hoped. It was just average at best. The fried halibut was very good and there was a generous amount in each taco but the guacamole was so average and not worth the extra buck. Same with the pico de gallo. Nothing exciting here.
I've been to Browns quite a few times before. I haven't written a post on it yet because I always order the Tahitian tuna bowl - just like the one from Cats Social House . It seemed pointless to write about the same dish, but this time I finally tried something new. Yesterday was a good day to try the BBQ chicken pizza ($13.65) because all pizzas cost only $9 on Sundays and Mondays. The pizza was surprisingly good with tangy BBQ sauce and chunks of chicken, bacon and corn. I don't even like pizza that much, and I ended up having 2 slices. I wanted something sweet and sour, so I ordered the shrimp and chicken pad thai ($15.55). I did not expect it to be so spicy! The spiciness was the kind that burns, so I couldn't eat too much of it. I also found the noodles a bit oily, and the peanuts were not very fresh. But the seasoning and sauce were quite tasty. The #28 dragon bowl ($15.75) was exquisitely rich with creamy yogurt and savoury teriyaki sauce. Interestingly the yogurt was supposed t

Browns successfully pulls off twists on the traditional brunch menu. My prosciutto eggs Benedict ($10.95) had two soft poached eggs atop spicy tomato chutney, a smudge of goat cheese, and garlic flatbread.
Great location, nice patio. Excellent service. I was in Richmond for business for several days. We ate there several times and by happy accident, we got the same server everytime. She has such a positive demeanor and was very pleasant to be served by. Thanks again Jen.
Went there at night, was extremely quiet and had good vibes. Nice set up for a small social house. Food was decent, found it a bit weird they add beans to nachos.
Service was a bit slow, again, there weren’t a lot of tables around so I was a bit shocked I had to wave another server down to get our bill.
Very tasty! The burger was so filled. Fries freshly made. Steak was cook perfectly to my likings.
The tuna poke bowl was very good except for the fried seaweed/kelp which was very chewy.
Excellent service, good food, especially the burgers and drinks. Patio is not busy usually.
A great casual place to meet up with a group of friends for a social beverage, snacks, and conversation.
There is seating both inside as well as on their patio.
