Right Next to Hotpot Palace, there is another hidden gem that serves authentic Taiwanese pot and stir-fry dishes – JiangHu. It uses local ingredients to create some unique dishes that you rarely see in Vancouver. Recently, they launched a happy hour for late-night supper, which is best for any late night cravings out there, especially when everything closes early in Vancouver. This event is organized by Issabelle, the Community Manager of Yelp Vancouver, and I was so excited to be part of it. In addition, Feast: Asian Dining Festival also joined us for the night.

The receptionist is very friendly. They made a good arrangement for my reservation. And he introduced the menu to me. However, the service of the other waitress are not attentive.

The food is tasty. The chicken quality is good.

I will introduce to my friends.

Jianghu is one of the latest additions to Richmond’s ever expanding hot pot scene. The recent trend has been individual hot pots, however Jianghu offers family style Taiwanese hot pots focusing on lamb, ginger duck, sesame oil chicken or shaojiu chicken. They also serve a variety of non hot pot dishes such as Three Cup chicken, Hakka style sliced pork belly and Salt and pepper fried chicken.

Before you roll your eyes at another new hot pot place, let me stop you right there. This one is a whole lot of different, offering more than just meat and vegetables in soup. This is first hotpot service that I haven’t had to rely on any side sauces to flavour boiled ingredients. Everything was just so fragrant that we skipped it all together, but more on that later.
