One of my favourite dimsum places to hit up in Richmond. Dimsum is made professionally and they offer the 20% off before 11am deal which I wasn't aware of. Not quite 5/5 as there is another dimsum place I love that has staff who are professional and actually look like they enjoy working there. However, Neptune is still up there in my books if you want good (not necessarily cheap), well-made dimsum and acceptable service level.
So if you want a decent dinner for 2 at a fine dining Chinese restaurant in Richmond, maybe just get a whole Peking Duck, which usually costs $45 – $50 and it comes in 2 courses, which is more enough for 2 people. And this time they prepared the duck very well here at Neptune. This is interesting because they are known as a top seafood restaurant in the neighbourhood. Their seafood dishes are not cheap, I would recommend you to try them if you're with a bigger group of people.
○bad/ slow service
○good food depend on day and what you ordered/ set menu is the way to go for big group and maybe add extra items
○a tad over priced
○family friendly
○if I had to choose I dish: Peking duck 1 course
○would i go back? Maybe
This has got to one of the oldest late night hangout joints in Richmond besides the infamous No.9 Restaurant at Landsdowne centre. I used to come here for dinner with the family but since so many other restaurants sprouted up across town, finding a nearby place that was affordable and convenient wasn’t hard so we stopped going here. But, after heading out of the movie theatre for a late showing, coming here for late night eats was a good idea.
Was planning to go to a dimsum places in the morning, there were a few options in richmond but my friend decided to go to neptune since he favored this restaurant over the others.
came at very early in the morning like around 9-10 am i think and it was quite empty, but by the time we left is quite packed, but not to the point that there's a lineup yet. ordered a few reggular items for food, and also tried the desert like durian mochi and interesting pastries...
the food in general i would say is definitely good, maybe i was hungry and craving for it at the time. not one item that i remember was off in terms of taste, flavour and texture, everything is in the range of what i wanted.
in terms of the pastry, i think everything is great as well, and the durian mochi is the first time i tried it, durian an exotic fruit either you'll love it or hate it base on the smell, for me i'm okay, like not a big fan of it, but for how they make it, i'll say it's good the durian inside is buttery and the mochi outside is soft chewy and gives a hint of sweetness from the flour.
Wonderful if poor service is what you're looking for!. Was in on Sunday for dinner. We ordered a set menu for 10 people at about 5:40PM, 30 minutes later still no food. We ask and they said it's coming but obviously they forgot to put in the order. Other tables that sat and ordered later than us started receiving food (same set menu), we ask again and they said it's coming and we're up next... 6:35 food finally arrives. No apologies for the mistake in forgetting to put in our order.
OK fine they made us wait but when it came to serving up the soup we ordered a 10 person set menu and they ladled soup for only 8 bowls and the main soup bowl was empty. They thought we only had 8 people drinking (we had 4 kids and 2 of them on the younger side) and when we said we need at least 9 they took some out of every bowl. WTF? If we needed 10 bowls, each bowl would have been only half full. It's soup, water it down if you want to cheat don't come out with not enough to fill bowls. When we called them on it the waiter gave a lame excuse of it would have been enough and it's ok to have smaller bowls of soup.
When we received lobster there was no wet wipes or extra tissues. Fried rice came and they took away all of our bowls and we needed to ask and wait a long time to get bowls.
Overall the taste was not great and service was not good. I'm not expecting exceptional service like a western restaurant but forgetting our order and not apologizing for the mistake and trying to cheat us on food quantity are 2 big reasons why I don't like this place.
If you enjoy the poor experience and the opportunity to be ripped off then this is the restaurant for you! Happy eating.
One of The Best Dimsum in Richmond. Yes, kinda a delightful surprise! We made a reservation but when we arrived, we still had to wait a little. But just a short wait.
A good selection of dimsum and very delicious. I was puzzled by the low rating on Urbanspoon. Anyway, I certainly recommend this place for its dimsum.. eg: egg tarts, siewmai, pan fried buns, congee etc.
Will go and check out its dinner a la carte next time.

We only wanted to understand and if anything mistake, we have to apologize.

Super good food and service. I'm surprised at the number of negative comments below about service. I came with my mom, my aunt, and her son. We reserved and were seated quickly. We ordered pecking duck, fried chicken knee, honey garlic spare ribs, fried rice, crab, and shrimps.
All I can say is wow. It was all so fresh, hot, and so good. I couldn't get myself to put my utensils down! Definitely one of the best Chinese places I've been to. I had such a good experience here, maybe because my aunt knew the manager. I'm a bit hesitant to go back based on the reviews here, but I probably will some time.
Special event dinner. Had dinner here for a special occasion so there was a set menu of some pretty standard fare dishes which all came out promptly and tasted good.
One problem was the portions for each table party of ten was really small which didn't make it a filling meal.
Service was excellent as they met our every needs so definitely recommend this place to host special events.
Food was really great ! Service was unlike what other reviewers claimed to be. Waitress were friendly and attentive! Would return again when I visit Vancouver
Servers' Service - need to be improved. Read so many negative reviews but still would like to give it a try, therefore went there for dim sum brunch today (a Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m.).
Lots of tables available, still not yet full when I left at about 11:00).
Service - average for the Manager and Waitresses & Waiters; below average for the servers (no smile, just placed the dishes whereever they liked)
Food - above average quality except there were 2 slices of cold veges placed besides the Prawns Rice Rolls, yike.
Based on the fact that there are so many good quality Chinese Restaurants at Richmond to choose from, if they want to have better business, they should provide better services.
Good quality Dim Sum but bad service. Par for the course like other Dim Sum places. 20% off before 11am.
Been going to this place fairly often for the last few weeks for dimsum, and the advantage of going with a big group is that I got to sample quite a few dishes. Price is slightly higher but the portion and flavor were at par. I ended up getting the VIP card ($30, no expiry date) which gives 10% off lunch/dinner. If you get the cheque before 12pm I believe it's 20% off :)
Good food. Food is good, service mediocre, prices average
Fresh made Chinese donuts for congee are light, crisp and NOT oily! The Neptune Wonton House is a well established Richmond dining spot for those looking for tasty Cantonese style lunch, dinner or late night snacks. A 3 dish lunch menu able to satisfy a couple of people costs $12.99, before tax and tip. Worth a visit more than once!
Pricey but good Dim Sum. We ordered a variety of items from the dim sum menu and found all to be high quality and good tasting.
The prices are somewhat higher than expected and the serving sizes were on the smaller side.
Overall a good meal and we would return when in the area.
I love traditional Chinese food, and Neptune never disappoints. They are my comfort food Chinese restaurant in Richmond because over the years they held their consistency. What they excel in is their Congee, Noodle and Rice. They are also good at dinner combos, which you can pick between 2,4,6,8 dishes within a set menu, and it comes with soup and rice. The first thing we ordered was Squid Balls in Fish Broth . I am not sure if they include this on the menu but it's definitely recommended. Clean fish broth with tasty squid balls. To be honest, I only order this so I can taste the soup. Spicy Shrimp: Shrimp marinated in a spicy sauce, and then chilled to serve. This is the perfect appetizer to an Asian beer.
My particular favourite was the lobster on top of yee mein noodles which soaked up the decadent cream sauce.
The food here is pretty good, I liked most of the dishes. Service wasn’t spectacular, but acceptable (meaning their service could be improved upon). My favourite dishes were the congee and the rice.
We never got to take pictures of the interior on our previous visit because it was just that busy and crowded. This time was different, we had a quiet early dinner and as you can see, the restaurant was 90% empty. I really liked these lighting fixture they got, very modern chic. lol
The wontons were so overcooked that the wraps broke apart easily. The MSG broth was very salty.
This place is actually facing no. 3 road, you can't miss it. Well, we were there in the morning for dim sum. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. This first dish is actually a sui mai with mushroom and chicken. It was unique dish, since you don't
Once again, Ben is craving for dim sum. We went to Neptune Seafood Restaurant on a Sunday afternoon on prompto. That is not a good idea and the restaurant was packed. We had to wait for 30 minutes for our table. As we waited, we noticed that most of the customers coming in had reservation.
Dim sum menu has lots of choices, all yummy! One of Vancouver's Premier authentic Chinese restaurants👍
We went back for dinner a few days and King crab was one of the dishes - done just right & delicious😋
Great food and experience. Kind of tricky until figure it the menu out. After that, food was delicious. Very well seasoned, so no extra sauces needed.

Great food and experience. Kind of tricky until figure it the menu out. After that, food was delicious. Very well seasoned, so no extra sauces needed. Tea taste super fresh and aromatic. Very recommended!
Food & service was good except that food was coming out very slow from the kitchen.
We pre-ordered a set banquet & added some special item. Because the food was coming out so slow that the dinner took 3 hours to finish. Everyone at our table were complaining about how slow the food came out. There was a long pause between each dish & I do mean long pause.
Dimsum all day long. Food is wonderful with amazingly good priced. The custard bun melts in your mouth. You should try it. Service is fast and efficient. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
