The crepe milli cakes were excellent, the environment was clean and nicely decorated.
I love love their Blue Earl Grey Mille crepe cake! It's light, perfect amount of sweetness. I've never tried these crepe cakes before and boy are they light and delicious! Perfect for a afternoon snack! The room was also modern clean with great personable service! I'm returning next week!
A mille crepe cake is basically a thinly layered crepe cake. The word ‘mille’ means a thousand, and since the cake has so many layers, that’s where it gets the name from!Mango mille crepe cake: The first one they got us was the mango mille crepe cake.
I always love a good warm delicious bowl of Pho. You'll get exactly that here. Nice cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I love the rare beef slices and beef ball pho. Spring rolls are good as well.
Mille crêpe cake seems to be the current dessert trend in Vancouver. Recently, there are three stores, with similar concept, caught my attention – L’OTUS Cake Boutique, Sugar Lab, and Miss Lina Crêpe Cake. Therefore, my friends and I plan to go for a crêpe cakes hunt to see which one is the best. And first location would be L’OTUS Cake Boutique.

At one point, pictures of these beautifully crafted mille-crepe cakes filled my Instagram. This cake boutique is located less than 5 minutes away from my home, but I am not so much of a dessert person. If I had to restrict my calories, I rather eat filling food than dessert, haha. The decor was very simple and elegant. A lot of space and big windows. Really quiet and a great place to grab a coffee while reading or on your laptop working.
L’otus Cake Boutique took over the old Moma Bistro location at 8580 Cambie Road (across Continental Centre at Sexsmith Road). For the dessert lover, this place offers mille crepe cakes with a variety of flavors like fresh mango, strawberries, Blue Earl Grey, Creme Brulee and Match Green Tea. Aside from the classic French cake with alternating layers of crepe, L’otus also offers Nai Dong rolled cakes and other delicious goodies like Mont Blanc and cheesecakes. But it’s not cheap. Mille crepe cakes start at $8.50 to $14.

This is my 3rd time trying mille crepe cake but I feel like out of all the places I've tried, I like this place the least. I definitely feel like the cakes were a bit bland but I like how there is a crispy sugar coating on top of the creme brulee one and that the crepe layers were pretty thin. I definitely think this place is on the pricy side and all of their cakes usually sell out before 3 so you definitely have to be there earlier if you want to try it!
Ever since missing the chance to try Lady M when I was in Asia two years ago, I have been on the hunt to try the infamous labour intensive mille crêpe. For those that are not familiar with the mille crepe, it’s a French style cake that is made of altering layers of paper thin crêpe (recipies call for 20 layers min.) and fresh cream or sometimes fruit.
If you’re a dessert lover, L’otus Cake Boutique is the kind of place that is worth the drive. It’s a new dessert cafe which opened in Richmond a few weeks ago and they offer different flavoured mille crêpes cakes – a classic French cake with alternating layers of crêpe and cake. My friend, Alice, is a mille crêpe connoisseur having made crêpes cakes herself (see video here). This past week, we visited L’otus Cake Boutique to see just how good their crêpes cakes are.

L’otus Cake Boutique is a new dessert shop in Richmond that specializes in mille crêpe. Mille Crêpe, which translates to “a thousand sheets of crêpes” is essentially layers of crêpes sandwiched between thin layers of light pastry cream. I first heard of the concept when I visited Lady M In New York back in 2014! Lady M still remains as my all time favourite dessert place after all these years so you could say I was quite excited to see Lotus Cake’s take on the classic French cake.
If you’re a big foodie in Vancouver, you probably have noticed that the latest trend coming from NYC/Asia is the ever-so-delicate, mille crepe. It started with Lady M Confections, a boutique cafe that started in NYC, then spread to Singapore and Hong Kong with wild success. When I was in Hong Kong, every time I wanted to step foot inside a Lady M boutique, I always got deterred from the hour long line ups for a slice of cake.
