Review Grill King - Richmond

Bryan Chan
Ordered an all day breakfast. The chef grills the steak and the eggs on a grilling panel in front of you. This demonstrates that the chef is full of confidence in handling food before the customers. The steak is soft and tasty. The iced Hong Kong style milk tea is silky and not too sweet. Not too much ice is put into the cup so that you can really enjoy a big cup of milk tea. The quantity of food is just fit so that there will not be any waste. The staff is diligent, polite and welcoming. Although it is a fast food shop in a shopping mall's food court, your merry feeling from interacting with them will not subside fast.
Little Journey
We always miss the HK style milk tea whenever we hit Richmond and it is very temped to drop by the restaurant to grab a cup of milk tea to cure home sickness. I believe this may not be the best HK milk tea in town but definitely the best value for money choice.

They start by 08.00 Monday till Friday. Fast in order execution at reasonable price. Quality, acceptable. Really good for a quick breakfast, Hong Kong style.

Pros: I ordered a MAKE YOUR OWN COMBO with chicken steak and beef steak with spaghetti on black pepper sauce. Good portion, okay meal and cheap price. Cons: Their baked seafood on rice with cream sauce is pretty mediocre.

This place is as disorganized in the front as it is in the back. Expect to wait 30 minutes and more for your food.

Short haired woman(owner) has such a trash attitude. Acts like customers owe her for ordering food. Asked for an additional pair of chopstick and she proceeded to throw a pair onto the table. I guess it’s hard to have some courtesy when you look like a dog

Think a Hong Kong style cafe shoved into the corner of a western food court and you have Grill King. Prices are pretty on point for the style and the food comes fast and quickly (unless you ordered a baked dish). Not alot to complaint about as it's what you would expect from the style of place it is.

Daily Breakfast choice, best value in Richmond. No.1 iced lemon tea.

Ben and I went to Lansdowne Mall for lunch as we wanted to check out the carnival which takes place every spring break. I also wanted to check out my new cell phone picture quality as I had to let go of my old cell phone and camera which had broke down. Nowadays, Ben and I cannot eat a lot. We usually share a meal for lunch and the only choice we can have is to go to a food court. Instead of going to our favourite Bubble Waffle Café, we tried Grill King this time. The server must have caught me taking a photo of the stall and he posted a smile for the camera, :-).

One of the best mall deals you can get at any restaurant. Your choice of beef, chicken or pork grilled fresh to perfection, with fresh vegetables and your choice of a pile high of rice or noodles plus a hot drink for $6.45. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. One of our favourite destinations, worth a visit.

June 2019 Don't know where the complainers ate but it was not at Grill King. The line ups every time we have been there attest to the popularity and quality of the food. The daily special is now $7.85. You get your choice of pork, chicken or beef, with either rice or chow mein noodles. Plenty of fresh vegetables, no MSG. Comes with a drink. We had a tall glass of almond milk included in the price. I love stir fried chow mein noodles and they always add a pile more on my plate, no charge. The food is stir fried grilled fresh while you wait. We have never had to wait more than 5 minutes and the portions are generous and tasty. Definately worth a visit to check it out for yourself. We travel from downtown Vancouver twice a month for their special and have never been disappointed.

2018 Best on the mall. Beef, chicken or pork with vegetables and either rice or noodles for $6.25. I had the pork, wife had the chicken. Portions were extremely generous. First time I have had meat in a Korean restaurant that wasn't pressure cooked first. Grilled to perfection and both dishes were very tasty. While we were there there was a constant line up atesting to it being a popular restaurant. Meals come with a hot drink. Wife had ginger tea, I had the lemon, both were exceptional drinks.

For Food Court fast food, this place nailed it! I substitute Korean glass noodles to it to make it a JapChae. Total I believe was under $8. You can pick your own toppings and they will cook it. I choose Prawn, Chicken, Beef and mushrooms. Massive portion with lots of toppings. Shared between two people and was both full. Cant beat $8 Chinese JapChae, I say, even better than Korean places.

I like this pale at first. Food is being prepared before your very eyes; you can tell them exactly how you want your order cooked.
The bad thing is I experienced what I consider false advertising. They had their price of any 5 for $6.67 but if your order contains all meat, the woman in the counter who must be the owner because she never leaves the place, will charge more.
Meat had been exposed for the entire day. At the end of the day, there's still a tray full of meat and I' m pretty sure they would serve that the next day.
So I'm no longer buying from this fast food.

New owners no good. Every since the new owners took over in mid-february of this year, the quality is not as good. I really liked the place when the original owners were there. the meats were always fresh and tasty, and the seafood too. hopefully the new owners get a grip!

Didn't understand my order and weren't willing to correct their mistake. They just told me maybe I would like the noodles they gave me instead of the ones I asked for. I have allergies so had to throw the food away. Would not go back.

Quick fix. Just like U-grill or any of those, it has choices of meat, seafood and veggies. one down side is that you can't pick up the amount you want but they have a set "price" for $7.00 where you choose 5 ingredients. I would say the sauces are full of sodium but it's good for a quick fix if you can't decide on what to eat in Lansdowne.

Grill King Korean Cuisine is a fast food restaurant that offers a variety of asian cuisine but primarly focuses on stir fry with your choice of meat, seafood, and vegetables to grill. The establishment seems to be owned by chinese owners and although the food is listed as Korean cuisine, it wasn’t very authentically Korean. The portions are generous and the pricing is comparable to the other fast food establishments at Lansdowne Mall.
