The dishes are very spicy and delicious. If you like hot food, then you should give it a try. It might get your taste buds on fire until the next day. Definitely unforgettable dining experience. Orginal traditional China HuNan style cuisine. The price is fair enough. Not too expensive, however, not cheap as well.

If you like the numbing kind of spicy, this is the place to go. The spice level is not very high and should be easily tolerable by most but the flavor is great and definitely worth a try.

This is northern China for that is characterized by being spicy and tones of flavor, and this is vastly different from South Chinese style. I think this restaurant did a good job representing the region and the food was good. I had to take one star off becauses the waiting staff were slow to react and slightly unfriendly.

Probably the worse experience in Vancouver so far. We ordered 3 main dishes a soup and a desert. It took over and hour and half for the food to come out. I did read the reviews about bad service and I can comfirm that is the case.. Definitely not enough servers. The reason for the 1 star is mostly the quality of the food... Over salty, too much white pepper on our soup. If you have limited dinners in Vancouver, I would avoid this one.

We wait for 1hr and still not be served. Very bad experience. They just let dine in customer wait and take the delivery orders. The place doesn’t have heating, extremely cold in the winter. The owner needs to use brain to do business.

Good food, good flavor but bad service. The waitress was not very nice and patient to customer. The side dishes don’t have lots of options. Asked for fish tofu but she brought out frozen one and said only one type of tofu.

Bad service. We ordered a fish head, they didn't tell us the weight and price of the fish head in advance and cooked it directly without informing us the weight and price. The fish head costs $90, but it did not taste good.<br/>Soooooo disappointed.

The service was horrible. The old Cantonese lady didn’t tell us the price of the fish until she took out the cooked fish. We were so pissed off to have over $100 fish without referring the price and the weight. <br/>When we questioned the fish, 3 Cantonese ladies dare to come back and said I shud know their fish is sold by the piece not the weight. I said then why she asked us how much pound of fish we want at first place. <br/>The ladies who made mistakes didn’t even say one sorry. Why don’t you guys just go rob the money without asking customers the prices!??!?!??!?!?!!?!!?<br/>Terrible service and terrible food!!!!!!!!!!! <br/>Will never go there again!

Great food, chinese service. More northern style food(so more spicy, heavier taste). Good was excellent. Bathroom not as clean as your typical chinese restaurant. Basicly, go in for the food, not for the service(even though the picture of the place looks good). Highly recommend if you are into good eats.

Terrible place to eat out. The waitress always persuade you to try something not on manual. Be careful, this is their typical scam, they will never let you know the price in advance if you don't ask. You will be totally pissed off when check out...<br/> <br/>I ordered a fish from the manual, but they suggest a different one but didn't remind me the price difference. Then I have to pay $80 rather than the list price of $20. <br/>Also the service is terrible, they only care about money...

There are heated discussions about this restaurant right now, as one of their ex staff exposed the photos of how they recycled the rice, oil and hot peppers from the debris of customers' left-overs and served them again to new batch of customers.

The food was terrible... oilly, bland, and had a weird flavour. It also took forever for them to make it. We waited two hours for only TWO DISHES. Moreover, the service was also rude. Servers didn't check up on our table, and literary puts the food down with force. They didn't ask us if we need anything else or told us what plate it is.<br/>I won't go back. Avoid this place unless you want bad food and service.

The customer service here is TERRIBLE. I asked some questions regarding the price of a dish and moments later had 3 employees (including the female owner) surrounding me and VERBALLY ABUSING ME. I asked them many times to calm down and stop yelling and the owner actually RAISED HER HAND as if to hit me!<br/>Absolutely appalling...Don't come here if you want your day spoiled.<br/><br/>服务太差了，老板娘一点素质也没有。。不停地跟我喊还想动手打人！太差劲了。<br/>千万别来这里！

There are some photos of celebrities and award winning photos at the entrance way into the restaurant. I presumed this is a Hunan restaurant as chairman Mao’s photo is hung high in the restaurant. It was not busy at 6:30PM but it quickly filled up. We started off with Leek Pie. It was quite a large serving as half of a pie is quite filing as an appetizer.

Disappointed service. The food is good, but I was so disappointed about the service. The two of us ordered two dishes of average price and a soup. We were totally ignored by the waitress. The soup was served after I asked four or five times. When we paid the bill, I was going to pay by visa, but she asked whegher I had a debit. She was using a visa machine!!! They surely accepts visa, but obviously not from us. So ridiculous. Will never go back again.

Heard from a few friends and decided to check it out on new years eve. it was not that busy but the food is really disappointing. we ordered two dry stir fry which came out to be soupy in the end. both of them lack any taste. ordered a steamed fish which was still raw in the middle. really disappointed. spent 180 for 4. expecting more...will not go back.

Not consistant,very poor for sea food. Do not order any live sea food here! It is terrible.It tastes like not fresh.You pay for the live fish but tastes like frozen fish.But for other Hunan dishes are good.

The Tian Shi Fu customer service experience is quite typical, or maybe a notch down. You can expect to wait at the hostess's table forever. Server will walk by and even if they make eye contact with you, do nothing. Even if they come to the reservations book, you may be completely ignored while they address someone else who came after you. You have to basically flag someone down. They have fat menus with pictures of everything . Yes, everything. This is good.
