Best Wonton noodle soup in town. Place to go for when I crave for wonton, and spicy shredded pork Lo-mien. They are the only place which add yellow Chinese leek in the wonton soup - which is the most traditional and authentic way.
But don't expect any good service there. I found their waitresses are pretty rude at times.
Best Wanton I've ever had in Vancouver! Even the noodle is very fresh and stands out with the shrimp wontons as traditional Hong Kong meal. Good as quick meal or comfort food. The location is also very convenient with plenty of parking. You can also bring frozen wonton back home and cook them yourself. Will definitely come back.
○ok service
○my go-to place for wonton Noodle soup and congee and lo mein (spicy pork - warning it's very oily but superb)
○Don't underestimate the portion sizes. It's very filling/ the only place I actually finish all contents inside the bowl
○would I go back? Yes when I crave wonton Noodle or congee or lomein
Noodles Soup was excellent!!!
Went there for an early Sunday lunch - a table for 2.
Ordered : Lo-Mein with Wontons (5 pcs. of wontons); Lo-Mein with Beef Brisket); & a bowl of Shrimp & Pork Dumplings Soup (5 dumplings).
Wontons were typically Hong Kong style - tiny but tasty, quite good. Beef Brisket was a bit fatty, taste was also good. Shrimp & Pork Dumplings were not very good - could hardly feel there was actually shrimp meat inside, just could taste the pork.
Soup base was good. Noodles were excellent - the best noodles I have ever tried in Greater Vancouver so far!
Recommended!!!
Max is a pretty solid wonton joint. The noodles are nice and chewy and the wontons are decent size. Not big and not small. Their braised tendon and tripe dish is also pretty good. My dad is a major noodle junkie and he says their noodles are spot on.
Everything is cooked properly, nice chewy noodles and simple fragrant soup rather than your textbook msg based soups. If you seek oversized wontons or large portions, this is not the place for you. The noodle portions are hk-style (small bowls) so that you can order more than just a bowl of noodles. Try the congee and Chinese donut.
Wontons are classic bite sized, so I recommend that you not order just wontons instead get 2-3 items with your noodles. The brisket, beef tendon and dumplings are good as well. If you like a richer flavor choose the lo-mein instead of the noodle soup.
Expect to pay a premium at this place. The differences are subtle so makes sense that the reviews are so mixed.
Classic Hong Kong Style wonton shop. Delicious food and quick service in a pleasant casual setting.
Heaven for those who lived in Hong Kong in the 1960's to 1980's. This is comfort food. This is my usual flight disembarkation protocol when visiting YVR: wonton noodle soup, salt & pepper tofu (deep fried), deep fried dace fish balls, green veggies with oyster sauce.
Wontons have shrimp only stuffing The clear soup broth is intense in flavour with dried sole (ground fish) and the noodles have the classic crunch from the lye (alkali). Stewed beef brisket and tendon topping is always a great choice: flavourful and tender.
Service is prompt and very efficient.
A must if you like a taste of Hong Kong when in Vancouver.
CASH ONLY!
The best wonton noodles in Vancouver! Is a very traditional wonton style from Hong Kong! The noodles were very Al Dan Tè. The soup and the beef brisket are excellent!!!
Easily my go-to place in Richmond. The portion is perfect for a snack. The texture of the mien is the best I've ever had. Wonton and the dumplings are flavourful and the crepe is soft and smooth. The chicken gizzards are perfectly battered. I love everything here! But they did up their prices from when I last remembered. It's around $7.75+ per bowl of noodle soup.
One of my Favorites~. Although their portions were very small, I always find myself craving for a bowl of MaxNoodle's wonton noodles. The all-shrimp wontons are really small, but they have the perfect crunchy texture and seasoning to them. Personally, I actually prefer these small wontons that I could eat in one bite over the larger shrimp and pork version.
The congee was also very tasty. The first time I went, I ordered the "mixed seafood congee." Normally in a mixed seafood congee, there is a pretty even mixture of a variety of seafood; however, in MaxNoodle's version, they pretty much almost only added squid. Unless you really love squid, I would stick with other congees. The "mixed meat congee" is my personal favorite!
Wonton Mein NEVER GOES WRONG at this place. Soup is always right in temperature, shrimps in wontons are perfectly "crunchy" with a blasting fragrance of dried shrimp roe. Size-wize: more for girls for men in a diet. Perfect late afternoon snack, or simply add a side veggie to make a complete lunch.
Best wonton noodle in the country! The portion is quite smaller than convention noodle bowls. But the flavour and taste makes up for the portion size.
...This restaurant has inherited the great culinary tradition from their parent business in Hong Kong, and they serve the most authentic Cantonese wonton and noodle soup in Metro Vancouver. The wontons are not big but the sweetness and freshness of the shrimp in the wonton are spectacular. The noodles have a perfect al dente texture. And the broth, brewed from dried fish and shrimp roe, has a ton of flavours.
MaxNoodle House is run by the Mak family, famous for their wonton noodle soup in Hong Kong. A lot of people even hail them as having the best wonton noodle soup in the world! Their Richmond location is appropriately located on Alexandra Road, also known as Eat St! They use to be called McNoodle but changed their name to MaxNoodle. The "Mc" in McNoodle reminded me too much of Mcdonalds but MaxNoodle isn't exactly fitting either, as their portion sizes are tiny! Wouldn't MiniNoodle be more appropriate? hahaa 4.5/5 stars MaxNoodle no doubt has some of the best wonton noodle soup outside of HK. The noodles are the perfect texture, and have bite. The noodles soaks up a ton of flavour from the broth, which is lightly seasoned and isn't too salty. The bowl came with about 6 pieces of wonton. The shrimp wontons are easily some of the best I've ever had. They're super juicy, moist, and burst with flavour when you bite into them! However, f or $7.50, the portion size was disappointing, as it w
I went in around 8pm and the place was pretty empty. I was able to pick my own seat. The menu was pretty simple, it had mostly congees and noodle soups. With a quick glance at it, I already had an idea of what I want. I got Preserved Egg and Pork Congee,
My uncle highly recommended the shrimp roe noodles --- thin egg noodles with a sprinkle of dried shrimp roe. He instructed me to pour a little broth over each bite to soften the dryness. Simple but explosive of umami richness.
For today, it’s about Mak’s Noodle Restaurant. We only got to know about Mak’s when Erick commented that they have one of the best wonton noodles in Richmond. Erick is from Seattle and he comes over to Richmond every now and then just for food! So, I gues
Max Noodle House is a great place for delicious noodles. The portions are tiny, but the broth is flavorful. It's frustrating that they only take cash, but overall it's a great restaurant.
Very crisp noodle. Soup is . Wonton is quite delicious. 水餃is also very flavorful.
Watch out the soup will soften the noodle. Eat the noodle first.
Authentic hk style noodle/congee place. Price is on the high side but it worth every penny. Definitely recommend!
Mak's isnt the hot spot it used to be but it still puts out a delicious bowl of wonton noodle soup. It's clean, fast, and delicious. Bring cash.
