Review Kizami Japanese Cuisine - Richmond

Popped in here for a quick bite and the were fortunate to catch a group leaving so got a parking spot in the complementary lot and a table for two right away. Food was fresh and arrived at a good pace. Would recommend a visit if in the area. Food: great variety of menu items ranging from cooked appetizers, sashimi, sushi rolls, robata- grilled items on skewers, dons- rice bowls with raw or cooked items, noodles: cold, fried and soup. Had the pressed salmon Oshi (a popular favourite), yakitori beef udon, yakitori chicken with cheese skewers, bacon and scallop skewers. All dishes arrived hot and tasted very good. Beverages: beers, cocktails, fruity drinks, tea (tea was on the weak side- could have used more fresh leaves) Service: Our server was prompt, friendly and helpful. Ordering is done by making selections off their web page. What would have helped make it an easier ordering experience is to add photos (or descriptions) under the food items so it clear what is being ordered as some titles had Japanese words that may not be common knowledge to all. Overall a positive experience.

A good variety of items to choose from. Service was excellent. Food was awesome. Will definitely visit again. It is a small shop so call to reserve your table.

Lots of variety in this restaurant. You wouldn’t have expected in a tiny restaurant to have that many choices. My favourite was the carpaccio, yam mochi, and sunset roll. The sashimi was fresh so definitely give that a try. Their other speciality rolls like the battera roll didn’t really amaze me. I’ve tasted better elsewhere. However, customer service is really nice. I like their robata skewers too! I think it’s a nice place to come have a beer or two with some skewers! Parking can be hell so keep in mind for that haha.

Best sushi in Richmond that i have visited in recent times. Their food is very good and fresh. There is long wait though to be seated so consider booking ahead of time. Highly recomend their pokemon sushis and potato yam and tufo with clam sauce. Onyl dowside is the service can be a bit slow for a sushi place. And the washroom is not very tidy. But other than that, the food is great.

Cool place tucked in small strip mall just off no. 3 road. Parking is a bit tight, free parking in the lot but be careful where u park. There is pay street parking which is very reasonable. The menu is electronic so bring your phone. Could use a few more pictures as the some items have limited descriptions. That said the food is excellent. Good portion size and very tasty. Presentation was excellent as well. Service was attentive and they knew the menu well. We had sashimi which was fresh and tasty. Chicken karage, and 2 specialty roles. The one dish, kimchi beef fried rice was average. Otherwise might have given a 5. Price point $$. Would go back.

Had a craving for yakitori and kushiyaki, wasn’t disappointed by Kizami, they have a great selection of different skewers and sushi rolls. All of the food was very good, they were out of Chicken Gizzards however. the restaurant was a little crowded but they took reservations so we didn’t have to wait.

Very good food and beautiful takeout presentation. Sashimi & rolls 🍣 - Chu toro was melt-in-your-mouth good - Sockeye salmon was smaller than the other pieces but also good - Both Caterpillar roll and Eevee rolls were good. Our kids’ eyes lid up when they heard this place has Pokemon themed rolls 😂 Rice and noodles 🍜 - Chirasi don was very good. My parents loved it - Udon soup was ok. My kids didnt like that the beef was stir fried. - Zousui (Kani) was interesting and good (our first time ordering it). Robata 🍢 - Onigiri 🍙 was good, very fragrant - Beef tongue was not a good idea for takeout as it got cold very quickly - Ton toro was good and the yam mochi was good & interesting too All in all total damage was $208 for 6 people (4 adults & 2 kids). We’ll definitely come back, plus it’s only 5 mins from our house 😁

Great food and service🙌🏻 yet I was looking forward to it because the pictures I saw on the review page, but turns out it was flitered, great presentation and taste, but the sashimi were ok, It's not so fresh.

Excellent food and service! Love their foie gras sushi! Must try their fried prawn with thin noodles as well. Definitely going back again with my friends and family!

Another Japanese dinner in Richmond. They say there a long line of sight for Kizami Japanese Cuisine during lunch. Luckily we went there for early dinner and we were the first one there. We get to enjoy our dinner quietly with no wait at all. First thought was a Toro sashimi. It’s always good. Sashimi in Vancouver is usually fresh. So rarely anything to complain about.

[3.5/5]The presentation and the flavors are great on the izakaya style dishes here. Although we didn’t have any alcohol, I could see this place making a great drinking spot. Their sushi menu looks somewhat intimidating with the price range. I’m extremely curious to try their sushi as they charge just as much as the high-end sushi spots in the city, but I haven’t heard enough good words for me to spend that much money. But maybe one day.

Food was all top notch, price also reasonable for the quality. Presentation also really pretty. However, it could have gotten 5 stars if service matched the food quality. As it was a birthday celebration, we didn’t expect the attitude and lack of waiters available either, took forever to wave the server down as there are only 3 of them looking after the restaurant. The attitude from one particular server occurred after we wanted to order something and the server said they no longer have that particular item, but recommended a higher quality version but at double the price, as we order a lot of other dishes, we said we will think about it, and she walks off before we finish ordering, had to call her back so we order a few more dishes and again she walks off, so by the third time I had to tell her to come back as we haven’t finished ordering! When we spent close to $300 with only 4 adults, we really didn’t just order a handful of dishes for her to keep rushing off...

Will probably be back, but not that soon... hopefully she learns better customer service first before my next experience and review. It was a shame. But props to the chefs and quality ingredients!

More photos but I’ve reached the limit... we also ordered beef tongue, deep fried cheese chikuwa, deep fried pork intestine, onigiri!

Recommended by a friend of mine.
Food was good with a reasonable price.
A small busy restaurant, the wait is a bit long, however it worth your while to wait a little longer for fresh and delicious food.

January, 11, 2018

I tried new place for lunch with mom today.
The food presentation look good, but the food quality so so.
The services was good before you pay for the bill or before they told me , they used to work for manzo.

I tried their agedashi tofu, their batter is hard/ tofu not smooth as the others, sauce and tofu are tasteless.

Foie gras sushi ... extremely small thin piece on hard rice, but it's still melt in my mouth...

Aburi sushi set --- come with 1 fishy salmon aburi sushi, 1 melt in your mouth thin slice hamachi edge, 1 tasteless thin sliced Kobe wagyu beef(don't taste like wagyu beef to me), 1 scallop, etc... all the rice are hard and dried. The set also come with tofu seaweed soup and tasteless powder ice tea. It's also come with tako salad with awful taste dressing on top... made me spill out right away. Food coloring tasteless reddish on side.

Tasteless and hard Chicken gizzards skewer...

Food quality not worth for that price, I rather go to miku or tsujiku instead.

September, 28, 2019
It was not good as I expected. Why not give them 2nd chance? I went there for dinner with my hubby. We had tried...
2 bottles of black asahi.. not bad it's cheap, only $6.50 each, cheaper than other restaurant
Gyutan korokke.. deep fried beef and potato.. way too much potato inside
Asari... clams with sake, but cannot taste any sake at all , shells more than meat
Ochazuke... tiny chopped unagi on rice with soup on size.. it's worth $8.. tasty
Foie gras nigiri sushi... foie gras not crispy outside, too thin, not as good as kitcho izakaya
Scallop sushi... so fresh and crunchy
Uni sushi... so good and fresh, we ordered 6 pcs
Hamachi sushi... so fresh and good, we ordered 8 pcs
Toro sushi.. dont taste like toro to us.. like regular tuna
Grilled saba.. way too much bones and not crispy enough
Prawn tempura... worst tempura ever.. extremely oily, thick batter..
