We’ve always loved this place. Best place to buy groceries and best place to buy Chinese food and snacks. The food court is amazing with different selections and authentic flavor. They speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese, you see the survival spirit of immigrants in the new homeland.
Things here are fresh and abundant. Asians are very picky and skeptical for freshness and they have achieved this high standard and request.
Not only a supermarket, it is more like a social spot for Asians who can get more than groceries here, like financial services, traveling arrangements and others.
Even by walking around this place, I feel Yeh energy and happiness around me. Love this.

If you're looking for an Asian grocery store, Yaohan is a great option. They have a large selection of food items as well as a food court and random retail stores.

Yaohan Center has one of the fullest grocery options.
Their cake and snacks are delicious, staff is super friendly.
Highly recommended.

I have not been there for 10 years but you know .. it has not changed !!
The food court is so something else .. I mean the food is like a high class joint but at food court prices.
If you live in Richmond it is probably ho-hum. Tons of great places to eat in the area.
But if it is just you or a few friends and you want something good and instant then Yaohan is great.
The stores upstairs are also a bit interesting.

The updated food court is fun with lots of options to try. The stores upstairs sell goods ranging from bedding to herbal supplements. The big grocery store gives a feeling of being generally crowded, with items and with shoppers. It offers everything you would need to stock your kitchen, fridge and pantry with Asian goods and limited Western brand name items.

Very poor customer service, no one ever has the time of day to answer a question or know anything. I asked a lady at ready made foods what the difference was between wonton skins and she threw her hands up in the air, shook her head, yelled something out loud and walked away behind the counter. WTH? What kind of customer service is that Yaohan? The parking lot was a complete chaos some old man tried to back up into a tight space then hit another car but proceeded to leave as if nothing happened. Yo old man there is something called responsibility. Maybe just pull forward into the spot rather than back up which drives crazy and causes gridlocks!

The food court on the first level was fairly quiet on a week night (around 5:30) and there were a lot of tables empty. We got takeout at one of the three buffet places. I chose 2 items with rice or noodles. I got the fried rice (and a heap was put into a styrofoam container). My only choice was the braised pork belly; I wanted double of it, but since each choice had to be a different one, I was charged extra ($14 instead of $12). Unfortunately, I was given less than double! When I pointed it out, she only gave me a few pieces of gailan instead and some of the braising sauce!??? Oh, well. Back home, I so looked forward to tasting one of my favourite ways to eat pork belly. Unfortunately, the taste was not there…literally! Even the last-minute sauce that was dished in didn’t give it more taste. At least the meat was soft and juicy...one star for that. The fried rice was pretty good…one star for that.

3 items and rice in the food court is awesome. Brisket is amazing. Other really good options for food. Interesting shops as well. The bathrooms are usually pretty rough though, that's the only downside.
