Review Village Books & Coffee Shop - Richmond

Rocanini roasts their own coffee which is great. First time I was there I got a pour over. It was clean and smooth. The second time, I got a capuccino. I personally like the pour over better but both are good. One extra note to make, the have very nice design on their cup and the coffee bag. Really cool!

Nice relaxing environment. Good decor and trendy atmosphere. The coffee was $4.20 for an americano and $4-6 for the pastries. Nothing too special but it a good place to sit when you are in the area. Staff was friendly and the desserts were plated well.

How do I express my disappointment? This place is not what it used to be. I had an Americano and butter croissant - both were fine, and I enjoyed it. But did I taste the paper cup? Absolutely. Is this the experience I came for? Absolutely not! They were strictly serving in paper and plastic. For an establishment who takes such care of their roasts, selling expensive coffee, this makes no sense to me. Their furniture is worn down and borderline gross. They have random pieces of furniture shoved into corners. What’s up with this folding chair and patio furniture? Some chairs were covered in tacky fabric that look like old bedsheets - Is this supposed to be hygienic?? Paintings on the walls were crooked, and in fact some not even hung… just sitting on a table. The experience was overshadowed by hoarder-like clutter. With how busy and chaotic it gets in there, I would take your business somewhere else. Where you can actually relax and enjoy the visit you’ve paid for.

Super cute spot with amazing drinks. I got the blue matcha latte with vanilla, mostly just tasted like a floral vanilla but the colour was so beautiful and striking that I was thrilled off the novelty of that alone.

This is my go to coffee place in Steveston. Awesome service, spacious dining area, perfect ambience with large windows, relaxing and would always want to sit with loved ones and enjoy the coffee. A definite recommend!

Wonderful coffee shop with tasty hand brew coffee and bottle cold brews. I also like their coffee beans but the bean can a bit pricy.

Beautiful, spacious cafe with beautiful cups. Loved the rose tea latte. Cool to try a new flavour. It was really busy on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The atmosphere is overall great, if you are gonna sit there for a while, that’s a good place. BUT, since I ordered a cup of cappuccino, it is definitely the worst coffee I’ve ever tasted, the bean is sour and bitter in its taste, I don’t understand how can a cappuccino be such bitter without blaming on its cheapest beans. To be honest, even a freshman’s homemade coffee is better than it, and the cup is SUPER SMALL! I mean I spent $5 to order a medium cup, but actually got a mini size relative to the Starbucks (or any other branded coffee stores). Nevertheless, it’s Steveston….

Have always loved coming here to pick up books at their old Gerrys books but now that they moved next door to their new location and added a coffee shop sweet best of both worlds and today they are bbq'n italian sausage and have the soccer game on under the tent outside enjoying my treats

I love it. It's all about the attitude of the people who run it. They encourage an interest in what they do ... which is to provide a lovely way to put reading and enjoying books with enjoying super coffee and peace! Nice one!

Steveston - Village Bookstore and Coffee Shop. The Village Bookstore and Coffee Shop is one of those places you love to go to. Shelves of well-priced books, good coffee [with LOTS of choices], friendly helpful staff ... what more do you want? As a Gerry's Books customer, perhaps twice a year, I was already a fan but when I go in now, Angela always remembers my name and is always a delight to talk to. Now Anna, counter and barista, also provides a smiling face to help you with books or coffee purchases. I was just there and I'm already looking forward to going back. Love what you are doing folks.
