Love this place. The quality and worksmanship is top notch. Japanese run restaurant so it's authentic. The restaurant is small so if you come in a large party then expect to be turned away.
Small gem in the heart of steveston village. The sashimi is always fresh and their tempura and agedashi tofu are crispy but not oily. I recommend this place for small family outing, couple date or small parties.
Surprisingly better than I expected from this hidden restaurant at the heart of Steveston Village. The sashimi and sushi were fresh and the tempura was cooked with the good crispiness. Price is within reason for the quality you get. Overall it was good. Service can be slow with only 1 sushi chef and 1 hostess/waiter. Overall experience: Thumb's up.
A tiny Japanese restaurant in Steveston that offers fresh and delicious sushi. I ordered agedashi mozzarella, kiwami roll and seafood salad - all very good. My only complaint is, the food takes a long time to arrive, but I get it, it's a 2 man show. The chef and waitress, so be prepared to wait.
Delicious! We walked by and decided to go in due to the high ratings. Boy were we in for a treat! Traditional sushi with a twist. You know the place is authentic when you hand hand grated wasabi!
Just stopped in and really enjoyed some fresh and new items. Try the eggplant delicious, and the sushi is delicate and fresh. The gyoza are fresh and also home made.
Tried their lunch menu couple of weeks ago. Reasonably priced with quality ingredients. Well executed with detail. U can taste the flavour with not been salty. Enjoy and savour every bite. Would go there more often if its in my neighbour!

High quality, authentic Japanese food. Spicy Tuna Sashimi - Amazing quality:
The tuna was extremely fresh (no odor whatsoever), while the sauce and garnishes were great. The sauce seemed to be a light mix of soy sauce and sesame oil, with crushed sesame seeds. Extremely delicious, BUT the serving size is small, at a decent price. 1 appetizer per person, you wouldn't want to share this ;)

Good quality, no issues with the quality. Rice was made well, and the ingredients are all good. The salmon sashimi was also very fresh. The 'real crab california roll' is at a pretty good price compared to others I have seen, although be careful of the random thin piece of crab shell(?) that you might get. Not a big problem, and you know it's from an actual crab not some canned junk.
As I said, the serving sizes were a bit small but the quality definitely makes up for it. Prices are very good for the quality. The staff are friendly and extremely polite - Very refreshing. Definitely going to order more food next time!
Great little sushi place!. Had lunch here today with a friend and we really enjoyed it.
The food was fresh and yummy.
There was no yam tempura roll on the lunch menu so we asked if they had it. This item is on the dinner menu but it can be ordered for lunch.
It was different with avocado in the centre with the tempura on top-very good.
My spicy salmon roll was a winner.
The place is spotless and the service is prompt, we had our tea refreshed many times.
Probably the best Japanese place in Steveston and we will be going back.
From Kiwami to Shintaro. Real Japanese chefs in this cozy Japanese restaurant. Loyal follower of these chefs for over 10 years, they never let me down. Although they don't have the fanciest, longest menu, each item is worth a try... to new a few...Nasu dengaku, mozzarella tempura, deep fried spicy tuna roll...and many other tasty traditional japanese dishes. A place to add to your must-go list...the only japanese restaurant in Steveston that I will go...
Great sushi! Pleasant staff! You must try it! Very fresh! They have many items on menu that are similar to when it was Kiwami plus some new ones!
