Review Tin Tin Seafood Harbour - Richmond

Jerry
I fly from LA so every meal counts for my experience here. This place opens early at 9 ( a big plus for One of the best Dim Sum I has, this place ranks 5 star for me easily. For quality of food and prompt service. Great attitude and interaction for changing dishes in time, offering choice of live prawn thats seasonal. I saw a few Ramen places in downtown that got 5 star easily and can hardly believe more comprehensive and sophisticated cuisine like this only got 4 stars. Keep it up! Will certainly come back

This is one of the few places that open by 9 am for dim sum in the Richmond area. Their food wasn't too bad either.

Despite the long wait, dimsum is delicious, good portion, with many unique selection! The rice roll with fish paste, the black seaseme fried mochi ball with custurd, and the fresh durian mochi is the best one I've ever had. Will definitely come back again.

Dim Sum is awesome. The place is very clean and they offer wifi. The sea food was very good. The parking can be tight. Close to the Aberdeen sky train station.

Had a great dinner experience with my family here. Food was great and service was very friendly. We came for the king crab and were not disappointed.
Patrick Soon
Excellent dishes. Just had a bit of a wait before getting a table. Be sure to call head to reserve if you can. Good number of social distancing dividers put in between tables. Plenty of parking.

Great service and food, made customizations to dishes for us.

We search on google and this restaurant was top ten of dimsum in Richmond. The Parking is comfortable and free, that is the first and good point with us. Our kids love their chicken feet very much and we also like the fried rice, taste was light and really delicious. We gave 5 stars recommendation.

Excellent food. Love Dim Sun. Very busy place and we had to wait 15 minutes for a table, but it was worth the wait. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Worst experience ever. Being accused of wasting water when I asked for more hot water for my tea pot.

Tin Tin Seafood Harbour is a popular dim sum restaurant that we’ve been meaning to try for a long time (but the large early morning crowds have always detracted us in the past). We finally managed to pay them a visit in late June. The menu pricing here is a bit confusing as they use a bunch of different letters to denote different price points (whatever happened to just small, medium, and large?). In any case, the first item up was the Chinese Donut Rice Rolls ($7.99 – K) topped with pork floss. The Chinese donut on the inside had a crispness to the outside but was a bit chewy on the inside.

Was there to gather with a group of friends. We ordered the King Crab dinner set for 10. The size of the plates were decent. The quality of food, I would say was a hit or miss. Some dishes were better than average quality but some were not too pleasing. Especially for this meal, the highlight was the king crab but some of the pieces were a bit mushy. I would say I was a bit disappointed. However, the chicken and the appetizers were delightfully delicious. I wouldn’t mind coming back again for a casual dinner. But for this price, i am sure we have lots of other options.

Not a very ethical restaurant, they purposely overbook their seatings. Usually if you book for 10am, expect at least a half an hour wait (up to an hour). There are absolutely no shade around the restaurant and very few seats, so if you go on a sunny day...... The waitress is very racist escipcially if you don’t speak Cantonese. They literally let other guest they know go in ahead of us, despite we have arrived earlier. If you speak Mandarin to the staff, EXPECT TO BE DESCRIMATED!

I don't even want to give one star. I had my lunch at this restaurant on Jan 28, 2018. The tea they provided had lots of small bugs.
The manger didn't apologize at all. Instead, he told me the tea was organic, so it had bugs. He said that The tea in China was grown with pesticides, that's why they didn't have bugs.
Just ridicules.

We had booked a table for 5:30PM. When we were there, there was no customer yet. So, we told the server we will returned half an hour later. We went to Yaohan to do some shopping first. When we returned, the restaurant had some customers already but not too busy yet. Lorna had the honour to do the ordering. The above is Seafood Lettuce Wrap. The iceberg lettuce was very fresh and crisp. The seafood filings were made with shrimps, scallop and vegetables like carrots and water chestnut which give it some crunch.

A friend took us to Tin Tin for dinner and the food was excellent. Very authentic and excellent service. Of course our friend ordered for us in Chinese so I have no idea what the dishes were but all was delicious.

Got here on a Monday morning before 11:30am just right before their morning special ends. Don't expect too much of a service coz they are robots only here to pour tea and take your order sheet when they are programmed to do so. They don't normally come to you even when you call them. They don't smile coz they are not programmed to do so. We have encountered the man with black suits( assuming he's the manager?) the hostess and a female waitress. None of them is friendly. Just while I'm writing this review, my ordered sheet got thrown over to my table. When in looked up, I see no waitress. I wondered how the order sheet got to my table? Restaurant is about 80% full and there are at least 6 employees working during this time. I really don't understand why people would still come here and suffer with such a bad service as we are in a service oriented city.

This restaurant is ridiculously overpriced, the food wasn't good and the service was prettie bad. The lady who served us the dish dipped her thumb in the plate, felt nth wrong and continue the "service"! Theres a lots of other chinese restaurants in Richmond, I dont recommend anyone to go to this place unless you're okay with the "dip in fingers"!

Food is ordinary
And if you to run your day, you can go here ! This one younger looking male waiter ( or manager ) just does not know simple manner. We were wanting to sit at the table next to one that is on the side of walkway .
Say " please wait till we set up the table" in a simple gentle way is so much better than his way " SIT DOWN and WAIT till we set up " in a rude voice as if wecwere waiting for free lunch ". A simple " please " is just in his vocabulary I suppose. Looking at the way the waitress trying to stop him may suggest he needs to either change a job or go to retraining .

Want someone to ruin your meal time ? Very good chance here.

Well, good is not great anyway. This restaurant is on our No Return List !

We booked a reservation for 12 o'clock and arrived ten minutes early. We ended up waiting for an hour despite the fact that we saw at least five unoccupied tables, the hostess yells at us saying "It's not your turn even after this round of tables are done." in a very rude manner. Not only was she rude and the fact that we did not get our table, but the fact that they gave our spots to other people who came at least half an hour later than us with no reservations. I did not feel like there was any order present or point of reservations and obtaining a position in line when the does whatever she chooses. The hostess dealt with the situation in a horribly rude way. After an hour of this horrible experience, we--including at least another 10 other people who were also waiting or had reservations--decided to leave and head to different restaurant for lunch.
Domo Is Craving...
Our family loves going to Dim sum during weekends because we designate that time for family time. Last weekend was Moon Cake Festival so booking a table for Dim Sum last minute was probably not the best idea. I had to call up several places until I came across Tin Tin Seafood Restaurant and they had tables available. When we got there, surprisingly we found parking. They have their own parking lot but its not the biggest. When we walked in, it wasn't as busy as we thought it'll be, which was somewhat good, because we were starving.

Went on a weekday and received 20% off dim sum if you order before 11:30 am. Dim sum was tasty, served hot and was of a generous portion. Our party ordered 8 dim sum dishes and the total came out to $40 before taxes, so it was good value. Dim sum dishes arrived to our table from the kitchen at a reasonable pace. Ambience was pleasant and a bit on the posher side. Servers and managers were helpful and friendly.

Waited 40 min for a table despite reservation. Waited for 40 minutes for our table for 5 despite making reservations 2 days in advance. Each time we asked the host how much longer we had to wait she brushed us off with a simple 'you're next'. But this proved to be wrong, numerous people groups (4-7 people) that showed up after us with no reservations were seated before us. I'd say this is enough to prevent me from coming and recommending this restaurant!!

Utterly Disrespectful to Customers. Having been to Tin Tin multiple times prior, we have always brushed off the brusque service in favour of the food. One time prior, we had even been given the wrong order. However, after politely correcting the male server, we were offered no apology and no opportunity to receive what we originally had ordered. Instead, we were told that what was served was "good too." Not wanting to ruin our dinner, we offered no protest. However, this past evening, we ordered the promotional lobster and it seems our experience was similar to other dissatisfied diners on Urbanspoon. First, our lobster order had been forgotten. That is, we had received and eaten all our food however no lobster arrived. When we inquired about this to a waiter, we were told that it would come out in a "few minutes." We waited an additional 10 minutes. Finally, I got out of my seat (because I wasn't able to hail a waiter) and walked up to our table's server. I patted him on the shoulder to get his attention and politely asked about our lobster order. I noted that because we were finished our meal, we would like the bill. Not only did he REFUSE TO GIVE ME THE BILL, but he also repeated that the lobster would be out in "a few minutes," brushing me off as if I were a pesky bug. During our entire conversation, he REFUSED TO LOOK ME IN FACE, nevertheless the eye, instead concentrating on the screen as he inputted an order.

Needless to say, we were not impressed. In fact, we were full blown mad - even though we did give them a 10% tip. At this rate, I think that they'll shut down! The way they treat their customers is utterly disrespectful.

Stopped in after arriving by plane and had some of the best dim sum ever had. Service was very good and the restaurant itself is very clean. Would highly recommend

Eat here if you don't need any service!. Our friend told us this place taste good for their dim sum so we went to try it. Food is good, no doubt but service sucks. Takes forever to get someone to add tea or some other stuff that we needed. And when someone do come bringing us our order, we took the opportunity to ask her to refill our tea pot but she doesn't respond - its like talking to the wall! And sure enough, she didn't come back to refill it and when we try to get the attention of other waitresses or waiters, they pretended not to see us, just quickly walk past! If you don't need any service, go ahead and eat there. But a word of advice, bring your own sauce, hot water etc that you need because it's unlikely you can get any attention of the staff there! Honestly, there are other places that has good food and service so don't force yourself to come here after all the price is not cheap!

RIPPED OFF! Meal was decent until the main dish arrived...the lobster. The plate was clearly NOT the lobster shown to us at the beginning, which had 2 claws...funny how only one claw made it to the plate. There was also very few pieces of the main lobster body (2), with the rest of the dish comprised of odds and ends, likely from other lobsters. The garlic spicy topping was also cold, clearly sprinkled on top from a previously prepared spice/ingredients tray. I can live with dishes that aren't great, but being cheated is a different matter.

My advise? Stay away from this place!

Yesterday we went to tin tin seafood harbour restaurant in Richmond, BC. Very poor customer service. The price per dish very $$$!!! We ordered 5 dishes together. and they serve us 1 dish at a time like 10 minutes apart in between each dish. After we finished and paid bill plus the tips too. We left the restaurant and here come the hostess/waitress/cashier came chasing after us and said we did not gave them enough tip. It's a shame to see that!!!!

Order & pay early to save 20% on dim sum. First time at this recently opened restaurant for dim sum on the recommendation of my SIL's friend who lives here. Delighted to find that if you order before 11:00 AM and pay before 11:30 AM, then you get 20% off dim sum and free tea. Food was good and service okay. Will come again to see if first impressions are still met. (Always recommend a reservation if you don't want to wait too long for a table).

After we sat down, nobody came over to ask us for tea selection the next 5 minutes. A waiter in nice suit who walked by us twice, but never bothered to look at our empty table. Finally I waved him down. He stopped and looked at us with no facial expression whatsoever. I asked him to bring us a pot of chrysanthemum tea, and he turned around and just ran off without a single word. This is just plain rudeness beyond any standards for any restaurants.

The food was not very impressive either. Shrimp dumplings were large, clunky, and bland. The skin was thick and breaking down quicker than a wood chip disintegrated on flames. Like failing the most important test on the dim sum exam, shrimp dumpling has sent the whole exam flunking. We ordered the pan fried rice noodle roll because we saw it on a couple of our neighbouring tables. The noodles were fried properly with some nice rice aroma, but there was a lot of oil and with the bean sprouts looking lifeless drenched in it. The fish maw and ground shrimp balls were soaked in a seafood broth that was supposed to be creamy and luxurious. But we found some potent sourness from the yellow vinegar. Yes vinegar is often used to counter the fishiness on some seafood dishes in a lot of Cantonese dishes. But this time it was just too much. My mom thought this dish had the best flavors among all, despite the fact that chicken feet were usually not her favorite. But I had problems with the texture. I would like it more tender.

First an appetizer cold plate of cucumber, beef tongue, spring rolls (hot), vegetarian tofu/mushroom wraps and shrimp. Apparently the beef tongue was delicious but I’m not a fan of such thing, so I didn’t end up giving it a try. Everything else was alright. Next we had a stir fry dish of celery, snow peas and shrimp. It was heavy with roux and a little too oily for my taste. After that, we had some barbeque porkchop. No one at our table enjoyed the dish because the meat was just much too fatty. Each piece of pork was made up of at leat 50-70% fat. We just weren’t a fan of the marinate they used for the meat, we ended up packing up most of the dish home because our table just couldn’t ea

Do not offer a promotion and be cheap about it. This would never happen at any other high end Chinese restaurant.

The majority of the dishes I tried today were quite good except for the rice roll which was overdone so the texture was a bit rough.
