This is the first sushi / Japanese place we tried since moving here in November. 7 months later and many other sushi restaurants under our belts we can now give an accurate review of Ebisu, Richmond. The restaurant is clean and well kept, servers are familiar with the menu and if not, have the right sense to ask management. Food is served hot and delicious, oyster on the half is fresh and the Sauce is amazing. We ordered the 'Royals Sushi Boat" for 2 and it was perfectly prepared. Don't forget the miso soup and salad with a miso dressing is unforgettable. Please don't change anything! You guys are doing great! Truly is our favorite Sushi spot in Vancouver! We look forward to many more visits here. Thank you for the great service😋

Excellent service and fantastic funky food.
Highly recommended, try new dish, explore new flavours. You won't be disappointed.
Food was great. Fast service. Nice atmosphere. I’d definitely go back!
I love sushi and this was by far one of the best places ever.
Call me a regular, good food at a good price doesn't get any better!
As always, excellent value and great taste! Thank you for always meeting our expectations.!
Ebisu Richmond is a chain restaurant located in the busy Richport Town Centre mini mall. I’m not sure what it is about this place but the parking lot is always super busy. We dropped by for lunch one weekend in May and were lucky enough to find some parking. One of the things that we like about Ebisu is that they have a number of boxes, boats, and combos that you can choose from. We wound up ordering the BBQ Unagi and Sashimi Boat ($15.95) as well as their Lunch Special ($11.95) which lets you choose 3 items from a list of various dishes.
My brother recommended this place for lunch on a lazy Saturday, while getting the benz serviced. The prices for the lunch specials have alot of value and variety. Our service was up to par with many check ups and tea refills. Their lunch boats looks amazing, but we all chose the $10 lunch special. You get to pick 3 items from the menu and it includes a miso soup. Pretty sweet. The food is fresh and tasted good. We were STUFFED and felt like we needed a lazy weekend nap LOL. I definitely recommend this place for lunch. Good value. Plenty of parking all around.
Prawn tempura nabeyaki udon, $11.50: The price for the udon was a bit steeper than what I normally would pay, but Ebisu is a bit more upscale. I don’t like when the tempura comes inside the soup, as it makes it soggy. We quickly took the tempura out before it got super soggy.
I've reviewed this place before and had basically similar dishes, but here are several dishes that I haven't taken pictures before. This isn't so much of a review, just want to share some pictures :D
Love this place!! My bf and I went here for dinner. Food was soo good. Service was great. Price was very affordable too! Will definitely come back 👍
Went here with my husband for lunch. I thought we will get the menu that we usually get that has so much different choice of food but we end up getting lunch menu which only have less choice. I ordered thunder fries and deep fried pork curry and my husband ordered sashimi salad and ebi mayo. Food are delicious. Good service. I rather pick the menu that has a lot of choice. Dont know if they will give it during lunch time.
A pretty good place for gatherings, but if you have more than 5 people, I suggest you make reservations (especially for dinner). I enjoy coming here during lunch time as their lunch menu have a lot of stuff to choose from. My personal favourite is the 3 items for 9.99. I tried their ramen, but it lack toppings and the soup base was to sesame oily. Their gyozas are pretty awesome too. Sometimes, I get one of the bento boxes, they are great deals with a bit of everything.
Decent place to get Japanese food. The standard menu items but food never fails to please here. A safe backup choice for whatever situation.
Service may be slow during peak hours but is always good
The owner seems like a very nice guy, he was making conversation with another table (:
Also, the workers there were talking in Japanese, it felt authentic and welcoming
I like this place!. I know there are a lot of choices when it comes to sushi dining in the lower mainland but I found Ebisu in Richmond to be excellent. Their menu is interesting and varied with lots of innovative dishes. My wife and I have been coming here for a few years. Our favorite dishes are the sashimi salad and the chicken wings. I know, chicken wings at a sushi restaurant? But they are succulent and tasty and of better quality then a lot of other "wing places". The servers are friendly and efficient and the overall ambience quite enjoyable there. Their drink selection is awesome. Try the Tokyo Bay ice tea for a cool refreshing beverage. To end your meal try the apple tart. Apparently it is the chef's own recipe! Delicious.
Very nice place. We liked the soups. The price is correct for whst you get
I went to Ebisu to enjoy two great pleasures of mine : the Canadiens hockey and sushi! They sat us at the bar and made sure the sound was good for us. We ordered two rolls and some oysters. Oysters were already fixed for us which I never had before but it was truly and new addition to my pallet! We were not that many cheering for the hockey game but the ambiance was really nice nonetheless. I recommend it to everyone in the area!
My favorite Japanese restaurant. I love this restaurant. The quality of the food is great! This is slightly more expensive than other Japanese restaurants, but I would say, you get what you pay for. My favorite dish is the Tsukune Don. It tastes delicious. The service is great; the servers are always so friendly. I like the ambiance of the restaurant, especially that the servers and manager are Japanese so the passion for their cuisine comes through in their service and food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Good sushi-. The food was good, like the ambience, service was okay,
menu has good selection...
loved the thunder fries with the dipping sauce.
For lunch with the Work Team, I had the Chikuwa Cheese (tube-like fish with egg and cheese), Spicy Seafood Salad , and Beef Short Rib Don . I think it’s important to order a carby dish like the short rib don or the Thunder Fries from Ebisu because otherwise you won’t get very full. Also included in your meal is either steamed rice or miso soup. Seeing as I was already getting rice in my don, it made sense to go for the miso soup which tasted like every other miso soup in Richmond. The coolest thing was the Chikuwa cheese, which as you can see below, has a tube-like structure but it’s very chewy and firm. It was my first time trying such an item and it’s definitely different from the flaky grilled salmon or halibut you might have at other places. The Spicy Seafood Salad came with tuna and was about the same as Sushi Garden’s . The short ribs were pretty tender and they tasted way better than any I’ve had at an AYCE restaurant. All-in-all for $10 before surcharges this was a fine lunch with a good variety on the menu.
I highly recommend you to come to Ebisu for the Lunch Special as I do think it's well worth its price. Depending on how big your appetite is, you can tailor your order accordingly by choosing lighter or heavier dishes. With such a great variety, there is something for everyone.
The restaurant closes at 11pm and we got there around 10 past 10pm. We were told that last call was in 10 minutes, but that was fine as we figured it wouldn’t take too long to decide what we would want to order. I ordered the Ninja Kicker $5.50 for 4 pieces. It had prawn tempura, cucumber, avocado, spicy tuna, slamon, Tobiko, and green onions. It was spicy, but nothing really to note about the taste. Satisfactory. Nice presentation and colourful. Negitoro roll $3.95 was satisfactory, though with presentation, the sushi restaurant likely wouldn’t survive serving sushi with rice coming out and bits and pieces stuck on it. The small Tuna Tataki $6.95 was refreshing with a variety of greens. Sheepie didn’t really like the sauce too much, but I thought it was fine. Again, nicely presented with arrangements and colours The Agedashi Tofu $4.95 was good. Despite the pieces of the large Rainbow roll $9.50 (8 pieces) falling apart when you tried eating it, the taste was satisf
I think this about wraps up Ebisu lol (I’ve been to all of them now!). Having had a rather nasty post-experience with the Chicken Karage (too much of a good thing isn’t good…), I decided to try their sushi this time around, and aim for something lighter… First off, we have the Tuna Roll (2.95). It was very nicely rolled (tight) and the tuna, as well as the rice, both tasted very fresh! Didn’t have much of any expectations for it, but it turned out quite well! Next off, we have the Yam Tempura Roll (4.50). Although it was nice and firm like the Tuna Roll, the yam tasted a bit old, as if the tempura had been sitting for quite some time. Lastly, we’ve the Chicken Teri Roll (3.95). They were firm like the others, and the chicken was tender, but yikes, a little heavy handed on the sauce. Being my friend’s birthday, we informed them and they actually gave us an ice cream cake! That was a very pleasant surprise, and it was a Pikachu cake! Lols. Kudos Ebisu, I’m impressed at your good customer
This is by far my favourite Japanese meal I have ever had. Long gone are kappa and avocado rolls. Even California rolls are boring, unless they are topped with something special. Stir fried noodles and sashimi are some of my favourite foods. Combine them with special rolls unique to the specific restaurant and I have got myself a delicious meal. Unfortunately, we did not have enough room for dessert so I shall try perhaps another Ebisu in the near future. There are still quite a few special rolls I would love to try. Clearly, the sashimi was incredible enough for us to stuff ourselves full of raw salmon! A note for next time, cream cheese in sushi may seem odd but is absolutely delicious!
Polly and I went to the Ebisu Japanese Restaurant for lunch during the Olympic weeks as we do not want to go to Vancouver with all the restricted parking. It's kind of hard to find new dessert places too. Recommendations are most welcome. The only require
A steadfast Japanese tapas/sushi place with a wide variety of sake, if that's your thing. The food is palatable and while they have nicer cuts of tuna at an economical price, don't expect "omakase" quality. Nice presentation on their dishes and the staff are friendly. Clean establishment with lots of parking.
Awsome place, very attentive staff! Drinks were pretty good too. Oysters on happy hour were delicious
The food was Amazing and the way it looked warranted pictures so judge for yourself.
Good food and excellent service!!! The oysters are fresh and salad is refreshing too. The tempura fish roe rolls is the best, layers of texture and flavors, soft combined with chewy, tempura's crunchiness melt into the fish roe and accelerate taste buds in your mouth. The boiled prawns were so so, wouldn't recommend, and the spainch was bit too sweet for us.
Absolutely best value in town. After over five years dining here, they have yet to disappoint the quality, service and presentation. Exceptionally consistent, no bull. I give out many 5 stars, but this one is a FULL 5 star.
I took my family here for our family night and our meal was perfect. The Yokohama Bento and the special Amuri roll had perfect BBQ eel, and the Thunder Fries were a great appetizer for the three of us. Safety protocols were followed, and the restaurant was busy, but we were seated right away. It's become our favorite sushi place!
This Japanese restaurant has excellent presentation and great food. The chirashi is beautiful and even has gold foil. Very fresh seafood and good portions. The chirashi has good portion size. We also ordered the bento box which is very good value with tasty tempura. The oyster motoyaki is great. The boss here is also a wonderful guy to talk to.
Went here for lunch in Feb 2022. Ordered lunch bento box set meals. Everything was pretty decent, nothing was amazing but all was fresh. Sushi was like any other average sushi place in Richmond. Sashimi was cut quite thin. Tempura was crispy as it should be and not saturated in oil. Portions were a little small and may not be sufficient for an adult male.
Service was quite good for an Asian restaurant as staff were polite and frequently clearing dishes, refilling tea, etc.
Restaurant is dated and could use a reno but it was clean and comfortable.
