Review Kove Kitchen - Richmond

Great food and awesome service! Make sure you enjoy the patio seating in the comfortable sofa seats. The menu has a little of everything to satisfy the picky eaters. Hopefully I get another chance to visit and enjoy the rest of the menu. Thanks for the memories.

Enjoyed a Happy Hour here and it was great. Their Happy Hour choices came in huge servings. We ordered Chicken Wings, Calamari, Onion Soup, Creme Brulle, Truffle Fries and Kove Burger. I particularly enjoyed their Strawberry Margarita too. We will surely be back.

This place is great! You can’t beat the atmosphere and the views. Had a burger with Cesar salad and split onion rings. Portions were big, service was super friendly and attentive. Don’t hesitate! I’ll be back to try brunch as it looked really good as well!

It was late and we still hadn't eaten so we watched the sun go down and then went to find Fish-n-Chips. Not much was open but we got to KK just in time. They gave us a nice table and we placed our order in a hurry. Almost as fast as we made our decision, the food was on the table. The fish was very tasty and the chips were crisp. The server was efficient and the décor was pleasing. If you're out looking for a nice meal right on the dock, this is the place for you. You just might see me there.

I never write reviews, but we had a great time own the patio even in chilly February. Great view, great staff and the burgers here are amazing. They seems a bit understaffed, but on a nice day that's understandable. We caught a beauty sunset on the way out. Hope to come back on the next sunny day!

I always come by for their medium-rare burgers! Very juicy and flavourful! Their patio seating is amazing during the summer! Very accommodating for people dropping in by bicycle. My server was Miriam; she was a warm and attentive. She made sure I had an exceptional experience! Will definitely be back for burgers, as well as to try their Ukrainian dishes too! Wish they had some daily drink specials though! Drop by and give Kove Kitchen a try!

Located on the water in Steveston. Decent views of the water and boats. Service is quick and the food is good. The spinach dip is a must order but the chicken burger was slightly dry.

We had no reservations and a large party of 15. We were all welcomed in but were told it might take longer for service (since he was alone in that section). We happily agreed. The service was great, it didn't take as long as we were told and the food was fantastic. We are definitely coming back. Thank you for accommodating all of us, and making our day even more special.

DON'T EAT HERE!!

There is a girl named Maria who was nothing but attitude. She kept throwing the cutlery as she was setting the tables around us and was on her personal cell phone complaining to the person she was talking too on her cellphone, how much she hated working there and she said " I have to work and set the F****** tables, I work here cause my mom is close to my boss" Then, she would never offer us water, so I had to go up to her and ask her for some water as she was too busy distracted texting on her cellphone. When I asked her for water, she rolled her eyes and served us water with so much attitude. We than started observing her closely and she was texting by the front of the restaurant texting the whole time, doing nothing and hated being approached by customers. She kept on swearing too during her phone conversation as she was setting the tables around us, and she did not care about it and also she left tables not very presentable. Before we left I asked her for her name and she said its Maria. BUT, what upset me and my wife Nancy even more was when an elderly couple asked her for water, and she was SO nasty rude and awful. I decided to complaint on their Facebook page, and on their Facebook Messenger and whoever I was talking too there replied the most unprofessional and careless way " Maria is the best we've ever had in History" In HISTORY???.... & I got NO APOLOGY. WOW!! I even took a screenshot of the response I got, not sure if it was the owner I was talking too, (I hope not cause if it was the owner who I spoke too, than that means that the owner is just as horrible as this Maria girl) Funny thing is we asked her how long she had been working there for too when we asked her for her name, and she told us just a couple of months, YET I was told she's the best they've had in HISTORY? Get rid of that girl Maria, People PAY to eat there, so we don't need to see or receive this service. We're all paying customers. I wonder how the rest of the team will feel knowing that this Maria girl is considered better than them in History! Obviously, this Maria girl gets special treatment and is allowed to treat customers like crap! DON'T EAT HERE!! A real manager will fire her right away but she gets special treatment. Horrible!

Kove kitchen. The food one would never expect from a pub style place. Clam chowder loaded with local crab is probably the best I have ever tasted. Ling cod, though not the finest of fish if cooked to perfection and not excessively seasoned tests like heaven. Young ladies hosting us were very charming and sweet. Surprisingly cozy for a pub.

After the waitress had offered medium-well burgers, we specifically asked for them to be medium, and after waiting for more than half an hour for our food we have received 2 dry, well done (to a crisp!) excuses of patties.

Had we waited less we might have bothered with new burgers. We won't go to the Cove again.

We came here for brunch on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and ordered a crab cake Benny and chicken and waffles. Our server earned us that the chicken and waffles would take about 25 minutes to make, which wasn't a problem as we were not in a rush. In reality, it took 45 minutes for it to arrive. Surprisingly, the table behind us who placed their order at least 15 minutes after us received their chicken and waffles at the same time as us.

In terms of food, the yolk of the eggs Benny was not runny which is ridiculous for a place that regularly serves brunch. As for the fried chicken, it was rather dry but it was still acceptable. Overall, the food was mediocre but not terrible.

After receiving the bill, it took another 20 minutes for our server to finally bring us the card machine. We were quite annoyed as the wait staff seemed to be very attentive to the tables around us.

Overall, we would not be giving Kove another visit as the food was nothing special and the service was unacceptable.
Came here for dinner on Monday night. Great service, nice atmosphere. Ordered the set menu - entrees were bangers and mash and salmon. Food was very good, not great - typical bar menu but with a bit of a twist. I would definitely return!

Sept 24, 2016 -

Got the standard Kove Burger. The menu says their patties are 100% ground in-house and served on a pretzel bun. Overall the burger seemed small but made up for it with quality. The white sangria was very watered down almost like water, barely any juice or wine flavor. I'm a cheap drunk so it says a lot about not having any alcohol.

While dining there was a lady in the kitchen screaming, it was a little strange. What's also strange is the table beside us arguing about the table they are seated at and then telling the waitress that they are directly seated across from the washroom and they are going to move to a different table away from the washroom. That reminds me of realtors selling condo units across the garbage room. HAHAH. Their table wasn't actually that close to the washroom it was the hallways leading directly to them from the washroom. I suspect Feng shui.

On Canada Day I was craving poutine like a Canadian that I am, so my friend and I stopped by here just to try it out. They have a patio but since it was very windy that day we sat inside instead. I was happy with the service and food. Will probably come back again for more of what they offer! Perhaps try getting seated in the patio if the weather is good the next time I go :)

Mussels looks very sad, I asked if they where from T&T and they didn't deny it... We are in Stevston, we should be subjected to mussels from overseas..All the food came cold. We paid for our drinks and left. Manager said he would call and never did. So much potential for the location but just awful..

The server was nice, he did the best he could.

My brothers and I can be bad about planning things for mother’s day and father’s day. Not that we forget the day, but we never seem to remember that booking a reservation for a big group on those types of holidays involves having to call more than just a couple of days in advance. So this year, once my older brother realized that father’s day was only a couple of days away and we still needed to find a restaurant that would take our group of nine for lunch, he deviously decided to separately ask both my younger brother and I to make reservations without telling us that he had also told the other person to do the same. I guess his logic was that we’d have such a hard time getting a reservation that only one of us would be successful. Except that didn’t happen. Instead I got us a reservation at Trafalgar’s Bistro in Kitsilano, while my younger brother got us a reservation at Kove Kitchen in Steveston. And seeing as how I’m the only member of my family that doesn’t live in Richmond, Kove Kitchen prevailed. I still haven’t quite figured out why my older brother didn’t just try to make reservations himself…

Wandering around stevston and time for dinner decided to check out Kove. Started with kung pao sriracha wings, not too spicy a little sweet. I had the bangers and mash, which was pretty good. Other dish, chicken strips & fries were a bit over done. Some actually tasted burnt. Overall nice restaurant, great staff, quiet setting looking out toward River.

My wife and I had a nice lunch at the Kove.
I had the salmon burger, my wife a pasta dish, both decent portions and tasty. Food was good for the price, compared to similar offerings elsewhere in Steveston. Service was a little sporadic, server could have been a little more attentive. We dined outside on the upper patio, with great view of the River, very scenic, quintessential Steveston.
So all in all, really no complaints ...

What a pleasant surprise. I had dinner here with a buddy three weeks ago. My burger was very tasty, fries were freshly made, and the service was perfect. I return last Sunday for brunch and had an equally pleasant experience. Prices are reasonable, and it's great having zkove a 10-minute bike ride from my home. I'll be back!

Nice spot. We had the wings which were good and the fish n chips and a mushroom burger. All was good. Fries are excellent! Our server was outgoing and funny too.

Meh. I visited Kove Kitchen for the first time with a group of friends. The service was pretty horrid from the get go. We were served by a woman who clearly didn't know what she was doing. She was frantic, loud and obnoxious, it was rather uncomfortable. Our waters came in glasses that were dirty and had smudges on them also.

As for the food...I myself tried a burger called the Hot Head. The burger was ok and the spicy mayo for my yam fries was delicious...however the burger didn't come with cheese and only a few jalapeños for an expensive 15-16 dollars. My other friends had the Bombay butter and another pasta dish, which I can't remember. Both of them said the food was rather bland.

Overall, our experience wasn't great. The view is basically all the place has going at the moment. The place has a lot of potential, but whoever runs it just doesn't seem to care too much. Too expensive for sub par food and service.

2/5

Brunch at the Kove. Had breakfast at the Kove today. I would have to say that it was not very good! Almost an hour wait to get our meal and when the meals arrived it was sad. Bacon not fully cooked, some of the the eggs hard (should have been over easy), french toast pathetic. I don't blame the server but the cook is horrible. They did take two meals off the bill when we complained but I would rather have had a good meal and paid the full price.

Nice addition to steveston. I treated 4 clients to a dinner one Saturday night. We were very happy with the tapas menu and the service was superb. We were seated on the second floor- I was concerned we would get forgotten, but that was not the case - great view too!

Had dinner here and ordered the fried chicken. SO GOOD.

Great experience at Kove Kitchen!. Great food! Great staff! Great patio in a relaxing atmosphere! Great view! If you prefer to sit inside, there are televisions inside for you to watch as you eat. I recently had the opportunity to do a photoshoot for this new restaurant and afterwards, got to try out what I shot. i enjoyed them all! My favorite definitely was the fried chicken. The meal itself was quite big, the crust was quite crispy, and the meat inside was tender and juicy. The maple syrup gravy was a real highlight for this dish. This meal was extra special for me because I like both mashed potatoes and fried chicken! Therefore, it was the perfect combination! The chicken was so good I went back the next day for more! Be sure to also try out their Kove Burger! Their handmade patties are perfectly seasoned! So, please check them out!

Great patio but overpriced. I really enjoyed going there - the servers are great and friendly and the patio is amazing. However, we ordered 2 drinks (1 wine and 1 beer) and fries and the bill came to $30. WTF. Majorly overpriced!!!!!!!

After a stroll in Steveston, Sara and I popped by Kove Kitchen for brunch. The prices though are decent, you can expect to pay around $15 each for something on their brunch/lunch menu. Kove Kitchen has a nice view of the wharf as well.
