Review Italian Tomato - Richmond

First time eating here for dinner. I always thought this place was just another place that focuses on quantity over quality but I was wrong. The pasta actually not bad. Not much substance but the pasta was perfectly cooked. Nice firm, chewy texture. The portion size justified the price. Recommend to anyone who loves pasta!

I visited The Italian Tomato last week for the first time and it was very surprising. Even though the outside isn’t exciting, the ambience, the staff and the food inside are mesmerizing! Our experience began with a very friendly and polite hostess that asked us about our day and showed lots of care towards us. After presented the table our server was there shortly and made sure we had the menu figured out: you gotta choose the pasta and sauce you want, basically matching them. We decided to go with the Fettucini Veneziana and the Lobster Ravioli, both AMAZING dishes. If you want leftovers go for the full portions because they are ridiculously huge. As if he read our minds our server brought two to go containers knowing already we would need them, he was very kind and attentive throughout the night. The Italian tomato is a hidden gem, definitely coming back!! 10/10

Great service and vibe, the portion of pasta is HUGE, so highly recommend to order one and share it with one or two ppl, the taste was great! The pasta we got was Mama Mia and Marco Polo, both great, but I personally like Marco Polo more. Marco Polo is a pink/orange sauce, which is the mix of tomato sauce and cream sauce, and it has a slightly spiciness in it, so it makes the flavor more rich. The restaurant is quite big, even though we didn’t make a reservation, the wait time was still only 5-10mins, the host and server was very friendly, we had a really great time at Italian Tomato!

Great atmosphere, reasonable pricing, fantastic service. The food has always been amazing, right amount of seasoning, pasta is al dente, tomato sauces can stick on the noodle perfectly. Thin crust pizza is crispy, the dough's flavour is great. The server is absolutely amazing, caring, proving constructive suggestion, and brought us the to go box when I was about to ask, as if he has read my mind already LOL Really happy to dine here :)

Found another hidden gem like antons in town. Come check it out guys!!! Definitelt better than antons and more up to your choice building your pasta but it is more expensive than anthons with a smaller plate. Definitely worth it though since the tastw was super good. I got the napoletana and didnt expect to be that good. Very recommended!!!

We enjoyed our recent visit here after not having been for a very long time. We had wonderful attentive service from our server. Ordered the Italian feast which offered 3 choices of 4 items - opted for the Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Parm, and Fettucine Alfredo (other option was Lasagne). Also added the meatball appy. The pastas tasted fantastic and properly sauced. The spaghetti noodles were thin, more like a cappelini, but was done to a nice al dente as was the fettucine. The Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. The chicken was a good sized serving and cooked nicely. The meatball appy tasted great - fresh, tangy, marinara that was perfectly sopped up with the complimentary bread. Though a little rich at $6 per meatball. If you're looking for a place with classic Italian homestyle fare, then stop by Italian Tomato for your pasta cravings. We will definitely return to try the pizza!

We come here when someone craves for some pasta. The pasta was okay, but not enough substance (mostly just pasta). The place looks the same as when it was new way back. The service we got from our server was really good though!

The place was full and had to wait for 25 min (didn’t expect it to be busy on a rainy Sunday dinner time), but its worth waiting for the yummy food. I started with red-wine. ( The Gabbiano Chianti DOCG Toscana, Italy) Its pretty good, not so soft and not sweet. I felt Italian ting taste when I was drinking the wine. In the verona pasta, the sauce was flavourful and delicious. The Aglio was amazing. My daughter hates spicy food but she loved this spicy pasta totally recommend for people who like spicy food. The house salad with Marinated chicken was good. The dessert was amazing. We had a triple chocolate brownie it was warm and soft. The waiter was really friendly. We were lucky to have Andreas as our waiter. The hospitality was next level. He gave good guidance in choosing the menu. Thank you Andrea if you are reading this review. Overall I like the place and would come back soon.
