Extremely good wonton with unbeatable prices. One of the classic hidden gems restaurants in the area, been in business for long time.

Found in the Jubilee Plaza on Highway 7 and West Beaver Creek is the two decade old Hong Kong style noodle shop, Jim Chai Kee Noodle Shop. They have attracted many oriental clientele from the surrounding diverse neighbourhoods. I was introduced to this eatery through a family friend twenty years ago. Whenever I have a crave, you will find me slurping on the noodles from this noodle house.
Jim Chai Kee is located in the same plaza with Golden Court Abalone restaurant and Yu Seafood. Parking in this plaza was really bad (especially at lunch time)
Restaurant was medium size with simple tables and chairs. The style was very laid back and relaxed with no decor themes at all. Do not expect much for presentation! Service: The menu was very simple with graphics of the food options. Drinks (water, tea) were obtained by yourself at the end of the restaurant. The servers were quick to pick up orders. To pay for the menu, you had to go up to the front desk of the restaurant.
Awesome Wontons here! Not just simple and affordable, but the quality of the product is great. Their Wontons are packed full of shrimp and is complimented very well by their homemade chili oil (available for purchase).
A great little place for bowls of noodle-y Hong Kong comfort food. The options are simple — for noodles you pick from egg noodles, rice noodles, or vermicelli; for toppings you pick from wontons, beef slices, or "fishballs". This place is famous for their hand-made wontons stuffed with huge, super-fresh prawns. Be sure to try it! Don't forget to order a dish of "choi" (veggies). The food comes out at lightning speed (avg wait time 2 min); it's just enough time for you to visit the back and pour yourself a cup of hot tea. My parents love this place because with its low prices, quick service, and simple ingredients, it reminds them so much of classic Hong Kong noodle shops.
Simplistic and tasty, this place gives you your quick noodle fix. Every time I go I get the wonton noodles with sliced beef. Every thing is cheap and comes out quickly so you can have a bite for $10 in under 15 minutes.
From my last month of reviews, it's clear I like my soup noodles. I could slurp down a bowl for every meal and still crave more. Lucky for me, The Hubby almost feels the same. Either way, he's been indulging me as I drag him to all the GTA noodle shops. Next up, Jim Chai Kee near Highway 7 and Leslie.
Talk about simplicity in a bowl! Sometimes that is all you need for a delicious and satisfying meal... Their menu is plain and simple as well, making them focus on their specialty more and for a super fast meal for those in a rush. I always order the plain egg noodle with wonton and a side of veggie. You can never go wrong! Just remember that they are closed Wednesdays... we learned it the hard way!
