Coming back to Toronto from the northern shores my friend and I stopped for dinner at this spacious outlet of il Fornello in Richmond Hill having the pictured Caesar salad à deux, Veg & Ham Multigrain Pizza, Multigrain Gorgonzola, Pear and Arugula Pizza, finishing off with a shared Tiramisù, with wines by the glass to match - Malbec and Ripasso. The food was fresh, filling and delicious. The service was personable and fast.
the best Alfredo sauce and calamari fast and friendly service . we go there at least once a every couple of weeks ,the prices are not too bad .
This place has goo good but also great customer service. They really take care of ur needs and don't make u feel like a burden for asking for a change. I think it was the manager, but she brought my margherita pizza and told me herself that she thinks it looks too overdone and that if I feel it is then they will make me a new one! They let me keep this one as an appetizer for my family and actually made me a brand new pizza! I've never experienced such good customer service. The pizza was great once they remade it!
This is a great place to eat with family or a date. Great atmosphere, good food and great service.
I did not like it.. Food was OK but service was not there. My empty water glass was sitting on table forever she never checked me on my food and wine. Why would I bother to go back? I don’t like to judge place just by wait staffs but..
Incoming message. Great pizza not too expencive a few sexy women you know blondes and free additional cheese
We had an experience. We were seated right away on a Thursday night at 6:15. Our drinks, appetizer and meals arrived promptly and well timed though the dining room was half empty. The server was attentive but not pushy and though it took a bit longer than I would have liked to get the cheque, the rest of the service was fine; somewhat friendly, quiet and reserved. They accommodated a menu item to my taste; I asked for the seafood pasta with no mussels or calamari and they substituted more shrimp and scallops. It was delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked typically al dente but I like mine just a tad softer so if you're like me, you might consider requesting they cook it a bit more. The garlic bread was excellent and hubby enjoyed his wood-fire baked pizza; I tasted it and agreed. Though a sophisticated fine dining atmosphere, they do have a (slightly pricy) kids menu and high chairs-thank you!! My 4 yo just shared with us, portions are a good size but not huge so that wouldn't work for a hungrier or older child. And we were not the only ones there with a child. You might be uncomfortable there though if your kids are a bit rowdy or loud (mine can be!) and there are no crayons or coloring pages to occupy them though we hadn't expected any based on the look of the dining room. Bring your own goodies to entertain them. We had the chocolate souffle cake for dessert and it was rich and fudgey. Overall, a very enjoyable meal. I definitely recommend it.
Haven't had a bad meal here yet after about a half dozen visits.
Contrary to what I expected, the waitresses were average. When we first came in there was only one group ahead of us so we waited until the front staff came to greet us. But instead she attended to another group that came AFTER us but that family was very well-mannered and pointed out we were first. Waitress did not offer an apology and just walked us to an empty table (she was either dumb, biased, or just dumbass lol). Anyhow the waitress that came afterwards was fine but took forever with the bill because she was stuck on the POS system or whatever. Needless t
The Funghi Crostini was simple yet delicious! It was a lightly toasted piece of bread with sauteed mushrooms and creamy goat cheese on it. It was a great appetizer to start off the rest of the meal.
The one that gets the most attention is the Toronto location but there’s actually one up on the North end in Richmond Hill. For good reason reason too since Woodbridge and Maple (known for their high populations of Italians) are close by. I came here for their weekend brunch buffet that’s only offered on the weekend from 11:30am to 2:30pm. I was a little skeptical since buffets usually mean the quality of food is less than their usual fare but I was pleasantly surprised! I guess I shouldn’t expect anything less from one of “Toronto’s best Italian restaurants.” As you can see from my first platter, there’s quite a variety. There are different types of pizza, pasta, salads and breakfast foods. The scrambled eggs are flavoured and fluffy and the dishes are made fresh so nothing is stale of cold. Every time I walked by, the chefs were always making a fresh batch of something. Eggs Benedict, french toast, bacon and mussels are just a few more items available. Can you believe you can have mussels for brunch? A definite bonus! The eggs benny was runny like its supposed to be, the french toast was a little soggier than it should be but still great. And who doesn’t love crispy bacon? For my last platter, I got a few of my favourites and a few new ones. The tuna pasta salad was creamy but not overdone and the fried chicken was a little dry so I didn’t finish it. I would recommend coming here for brunch because it’s a nice sample of their full menu. I plan on coming back because I got a little taste and I want more! Related Posts Ferrovia Ristorante Review Khao San Road Review
Some of the most classy and best Italian food out there. Great place to take a taste of little Italy and have a drink out of their large collection of wines. Most of the time, after eating a meal, I generally have to pass on dessert. But at Il Fornello, passing on desert is a nono. There are so many amazing deserts to chose form, I would recommend the double chocolate fudge brownie or classic cheesecake.

Needless to say we only gave 13% in tips, perhaps it should have been less.
Decor
Just wanted to point out that the restaurant looks really nice from both the outside and the inside. Surprisingly, it was quite empty for a warm Sunday afternoon which makes me wonder if this place will run out of business soon lols.
Food
My BF was really impressed with the food and btw, we had chosen to do a brunch buffet. The cost is approximately $17-19 per person, I already forgot exactly how much. Anyhow, I actually couldn’t try everything that was offered but the varieties do spread out across 2 tables. At first glance, it seems like we don’t have much to choose from but once you start eating you will realize that this is not bad at all. I felt that $15/person would be more fair but I will give it to them that each entree was made hot and ready.
Anyhow these are my recommendations:
– the soup (I drank like 4 bowls)
– the pasta (my boyfriend suggested this)
– the mussels (wtf, who serves mussels, they are going to lose money lol)
– spaghetti
– the pizza (contrary to what you believe, IL Fornello offers better pizza than pasta in their regular menus)
Honestly not a bad place for brunch especially when we are looking for uptown restaurants. I felt that the waitresses could have done a much better job given their lack of customers but the food justifies the visit. Pricing-wise, take it down a notch and I’ll come back even more often. And yes, this is worth a second visit.
